If it matters at all, I have the 2 XL and the performance is the same as the day I got it. Granted I only use about half of my storage of which I have 64 gigs. The only thing that hasn't aged well is the plastic coating on the back which chipped after being dropped. Just in case anyone out there is wondering.
Mine has aged well. I use a clear case to show off the White/Black look and a Google fabric case. No issues with a scraped up device. It also runs as fast as new. Happy with the 2 XL.

Very good review. My only critique is how easy it is to dismiss the smaller Pixel 2. I guess I understand why, since they are pretty much the same and people tend to gravitate toward the XL variant, but I was hoping you would have included a bit more on the experience (specifically battery life) with the little brother.

I know this is a late reply but the reason why the smaller Pixel 2 has a lower screen to body ratio than the XL is because 2 companies were designed to make the XL and the original. HTC were tasked with designing the smaller Pixal 2 (I think they probably to put a bigger battery), and LG did the XL version
I've used my Pixel 2 XL for about 10 months & I've factory reset my phone 4 times now. Once after using the beta, once for battery issues & twice for minor performance issues. The phone has always performed like day one except the animations/transitions. Sometimes after very long screen on time usage I would notice a decent drop in performance which went away when I let the phone cool down. I got in contact with Google support and their solution was sending me a new device. It should arrive this week. That's been my experience.

Really enjoyed this video I really learned a lot in terms of the differences between the two devices. I work wireless retail so this really helps when customers come in asking questions about the differences between the two and I can answer the questions more in depth

That's because unlike most other phones, the performance stays exactly like it was on day one: Excellent.

If you thinking of buying this one (XL), I'd rather recommend LG V30. Same gr8 screen but no extra dongles for the headphones, and its cheaper too.
