This is a goal of mine to do to my brother's square body. He passed away a couple weeks ago but unfortunately I don't have the knowledge on how to do a massive job like this. This was something he always wanted to do to his truck but never found the time to do it. I'll probably just keep the 350 in it for now. He built the truck from the ground up so maybe it's better off that way
hey man if a guy wanted to do this to a c10 would a feller need to brace up the frame or should he just look for a c/k 20 or 30 instead thanks in advance
Awesome work 👍✅ I'm planning to swap Dana 60 front and GM 14 bolt rear in an 85 k5 blazer , I'm worried that it will became slow and hard to stear ,with losing control in highspeed , What is your opinion based on your experience? Thanks
I did not I just bolted the passenger side leaf spring down to the housing and then for the driver side after it was cut off I bolted it on and where ever the leaf spring landed on the axle tube is where I welded it
Looks and sounds great! If you have the time, could you measure firewall to radiator at the valve cover level? I am considering swapping a 6.7 Cummins into my ‘01 Chevy 2500HD but haven’t found a ton of direst references.
@@FabianTrujillo-hw3wd The 6.6 L5P Duramax is about the same size as a 454 cubic inch big block. They’re not that big. It’s only a 403 cubic inch engine. The turbo sits between the cylinder heads. You don’t have to worry about that either. They use these in modern GM trucks. I’m pretty sure it’ll fit in a square body. If you’re competent at welding you can most likely do it. All you’d have to do is make custom motor mounts, make custom transmission mounts, make a custom length driveshaft, and maybe modify the frame of the truck.
I did this project and I didn't takeI did this project and I didn't take That front piece out I feel like an idiot for not doing it I didn't even consider that would make it easier
What I would like to see next …lol I’d like to see you do my M1008 lol . Man you got a lot of talent ! Open up shop they will line up !!
Very cool project man! I like the fact that you actually drive the truck and use it also!
Fantastic job man! 🙂👍 Major props to you for doing the work yourself. Can't wait for updates. 🔧
DUDE! Now that was a bead! nice weld man.
That’s sick nice truck
Cab lights are a nice touch
Nice build.
Nice truck. I'm working on a 72 k20 cummins swap now.
Awesome! That will definitely be my next project, 67-72 duramax swap I plan on uploading the whole thing to UA-cam so stay tuned!
Clayton hogan me too I’m working on a 71 c20 putting a 6bt Cummins 12v and a sm465 4 speed trans in mine

Badass truck
That’s dope! Make a video on your duramax pls
Some pics of your transmission mount would be good
Very nice, Is there space for the a/c condenser?
Outstanding work! Any reason this wouldn’t work on an 81 K5 Blazer? Any estimate on your overall cost? Enjoy your ride!
no reason at all, i have around 5000 in it i belive
Sweet build, how long roughly did this take to complete??
Doing a similar swap in an 84 GMC 3+3 3500 2wd crew cab dually. Need some help on the wiring.
Me too, let me know what you find out
Doing a 83 3+3 with a 5 speed Alison transmission
Why ruin it with a garbage cummins

I’m a bit late but you would be best off to find a 3/4 ton chassis

Did you grind the housing down on passenger side where the spring perch ? I’m about to put a dodge 60 in my truck also

Did you use the vacuum boost brakes?
how long did the whole swap take?
one month
@@k30cummins70 did you work on it everyday?
Is hard to swap?
Old 4spd or what trans
Everything is great except the music.
What’s needed for wiring ?
well its a 12 valve so its mostly mechanical, so really all you need is glow plugs and starter
Cummins do not have glow plugs. 😆
All you need to make it run is power to the starter and 12v power to the fuel shut off solenoid
If it was intercooler it was a 91 1/2
Who the fuck asked about the 1/2 a year moron.
and?
What trans on her?
getrag 360
Beuaty EH
I would have gotten an L5P Duramax crate engine to put in that thing.
That would be choice, but I’ve heard it’s nearly impossible to make it fit in these square bodies , although this guy prob could
