@AcrezHD I actually like the zoom. If you were zooming in too far it would get annoying, but that was just enough to make the process easier to follow.
@AcrezHD I actually prefer them, they make it a little easier to see adjustments within plugins. I also like the magnification at 4:43. keep up the good work
I like the camera movements, I just wish you would explain why you were doing certain things and what they affect. For example, there were many emitter settings that you edited but didn't explain exactly what they changed.
I have other effects and animations done to the logo before, and I want the particles to make it fade out. So I got the particles to work and everything, but the mask messes up my animations I did before. I set the particles to start at 5 secs, and my other animations which are from 1s to 5s, are all altered by the mask because I can only see the layer where the mask is standing. How can I fix this? Please reply!!
...to be more precise: use linear wipe, feather it, apply a lot amount of turbulent displace ( the feather should look dissolved), mask a slice and that's it!
Thanks! Was pretty useful, but I wish he'd explain the options like the octaves more than telling us the exact number so that we're able to make our online logo the way we want it. Still, it's a great help! Thumbs up!
GREAT TUTORIAL! But what about the "FEATHER" seen after the dissolve?! My opinion --> apply "turbulence" or "displacement map" or whatever you think is good from "after effect's" effects list, to make a dissolve at the feather itself!! It should look more realistic!
Thanks for the tutorial! It looks really cool. Unfortunately there seems to go something wrong when i try this. When at around 3:30, when you apply the 'particular' effect to the black solid, a new layer appears on top of yours. It doesn't do that for me. And when I just follow the tutorial, the step at 5:30 where the layer emits the particles, there won't appear any particles for me. Do you have any idea why that could be? I have a project deadline in two days, and I wanted to use the tutorial to dissolve a mask/character in my video. I thought maybe it doesnt work because i used a video layer instead of a still image, but when I switched it with a png image, it still didnt work. I would be really happy about a fast reply. Thank you!
Ctrl+y to create a new solid first, and then try. Also when the layer emits particles, check the size and stuff. I'm not too sure myself, but I've been using AE for a fair amount of time now
quick question, i have a logo animation already with the logo coming in from out of screen>middle of screen i want that animation to then dissolve like this tutorial, i cannot figure out how to make the mask work, any suggestions?
when you say add the "placeholder" comp in underneath the "Logo PreComp" when i do that the mask is still active so all it does is makes the text / logo brighter? :( please help?
when i add the placeholder underneath the logoprecomp i just makes it brighter ( the mask is still active and if i delete it it removes the mask from all placeholders)? please help :(?
Nice tutorial, I want to do this with multiple separate words. Is this method quick in it's edibility? So, can I change text and still have the effect to be perfect instead of a logo?
It doesn't seem to work for me. I followed your tutorial exactly, but the particles are just emitted from the entire eps file I have. It appears that the mask has no effect on the particle emission. The mask does work fine on the image layer.
+JacktheSmack I had the exact same problem and here's how to fix it. At the very beginning, make sure if your importing a logo, that it is an original file and not a already precomp-ed layer that has effects applied to it. Also, make all the composition that Acrez is making and not just do everything in one comp. hope this helps.
I really enjoy how you teach the techniques but also include keyboard shortcuts and effective navigation to speedup productivity. Great work!
@AcrezHD I actually like the zoom. If you were zooming in too far it would get annoying, but that was just enough to make the process easier to follow.
I got trapcode 5 minutes before I tried this and you made it so clear I was easily able to do it. Thank you!
So great to have you back Acrez! I love this effect.
Simply amazing. I forgot I had trapcode installed until I came across your tut. Thanks!!!
No problem, thanks for sharing :D
Another top-of-the-line tutorial, I would expect nothing less Acrez.
@AcrezHD I actually prefer them, they make it a little easier to see adjustments within plugins. I also like the magnification at 4:43. keep up the good work
@AcrezHD I think it helps for people watching in 480p etc, but if you have it on 720, theres no need for the camera movements

@Merlsp Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.

@AcrezHD I dont mind the zoom mainly because I'm used to After and i Know where things are..but some people new to after might need the zoom

keep following and eventually it will. You need to "f" with the emit settings later in the tutorial
Very nice Work :) As always :)
wayyy easier than i thought it will be, thanks, learned a lot :)
@JokieGameplay Its because you need the Trapcode Plug-In called Particular, google search it for the trial :)
@TheGoatStudios Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated!
@AcrezHD I have to agree with DeezeRHD. I don't mind camera movements but I prefer video without movements
check out your feather amount and how masked slice is animated through the logo text.
@MRPictur3s you can change the colors and panels in cs5 im pretty sure. i have CS5.5 and i can do it there
@edzs5 My logo was just a text object made in AE earlier and then pre-compossed. But you could use anything e.g .PSD .PNG or even just a .JPEG.
Nice Acrez well put together
@DeezeRHD Noted, thanks for the feedback! How do other people feel about the camera movements etc? All feedback welcome to improve content... :D
Very nice, flawless commentary!
Thank you tons for this!
@AcrezHD thanx man, nice tutorials you helped me a lot
Trapcode Particular is a plug-in for After Effects made by Red Giant Software.
GREAT TUTORIAL! But what about the "FEATHER" seen after the dissolve?!

Awesome TUTO we just love this effect !! keep up the good work ...
gud one but, at 3.34 u did smtg...i dnt get dat step. a layer came der above particular layer..? how?

very well done and explained, thank you
Hi Acrez, great tutorial, but i felt like the screen movements were annoying and unnecessary, i preferred the tutorials without them! but good tut :)
When I rendered mine you can see a black block going across it...kinda like the mask didnt mask what it needed to?
Can you or do you have a video tutorial on how to save and upload a cinema 4d intro?
@DOVAgaming you put things into particles like audioo or stuff like textes
its a plugin you need to buy or search on youtube for free download
You might be able to help... The logo he put in at the beginning, is that a PNG (or other picture file) or just text?
Your amazing at what you do just to let you know!!!
Is it possible to use a video exported from cinema 4d, and use the particular plug in to bring that in, then it continues with the animation?
liked and sub, thanks alot dude i really learned alot from just this video!
quick question, i have a logo animation already with the logo coming in from out of screen>middle of screen i want that animation to then dissolve like this tutorial, i cannot figure out how to make the mask work, any suggestions?
ACREZ!!! Nice tut :)
It appears when you change the Emitter type from Point to Layer.
Great tutorial dude
THANK YOU MAN! REALLY NICE TOUTORIAL
when you say add the "placeholder" comp in underneath the "Logo PreComp" when i do that the mask is still active so all it does is makes the text / logo brighter? :( please help?
How about revealing the logo with particles instead of removing it with them. Is that easy to do using this tutorial?
I wonder how can i create the inverse effect ,i mean, form a logo from particles ...
So helpful and fast! Thanks!
when i add the placeholder underneath the logoprecomp i just makes it brighter ( the mask is still active and if i delete it it removes the mask from all placeholders)? please help :(?
what if you want to do this backwards? like have the particles form/fade in the logo
Thanks for the tutorial !
heyy man can i just ask what is the music in your opening :D it sounds great
On the placeholder make the Linear Wipe Feather Larger until its no longer there
this is the most complicated way of doing particular disintegration i've ever seen.
Nice tutorial, I want to do this with multiple separate words. Is this method quick in it's edibility? So, can I change text and still have the effect to be perfect instead of a logo?
Hi AcrezHD!

Thank You!

I think it's because h'es using CS5 because i have CS6 and I don't have that emitter light
Does anyone knows the the name of the Screen Recording software used in this video? Thanks in advance :)
You aren't related to |Micky Flanagan by any chance...or is it just the same neighbourhood?

Awesome Tut! Thank you!
Thnx AcrezHD ,nice tut as always...just 1 thing....get a better screen recorder.
your after effects workflow design looks different than cs5. is that version cs5.5?
It doesn't seem to work for me. I followed your tutorial exactly, but the particles are just emitted from the entire eps file I have. It appears that the mask has no effect on the particle emission.
The mask does work fine on the image layer.
+JacktheSmack I had the exact same problem and here's how to fix it. After you render this out, you could simply reverse the clip.
PLEASE HELP! What settings do you use to export your screen recordings from Screenflow? My uploads look horrible :(
@BTechTalk You need the plugin ;)
