This is a great video. Thanks again
The fact that the Ford 7000 was a rear tractor in circulation in the ROI.

Trust worthy and legitimate people like Richard are invaluable, what a collection he has! Was super interesting learning the history behind the companies that offered up conversions and modifications. Look forward to some 7810 content, sometimes when the opportunities present themselves you gotta just take them!

My dad used to drive a small wheeled county decked out in forestry gear, twin drum winch on the back and a what you could call a small dozing blade on the front, it was replaced with a red coloured thing called a highlander ( if I remember correctly) it was basically a equal wheeled county with a roof mounted log grab, don't think it had the blade on the front though, mind dad saying it was a scary thing to drive flat out though. Need to see some Muir-Hills next

I remember visiting County at Fleet while at Sparsholt. One of the advantages County equal sized wheel units had over Roadless was the two prop shafts so that when the diff was engaged it locked all four wheels instead of 3 on the roadless.

Well melod, I have sat here watching this video dribbling and drooling over those great Ford tractors. The 7600 next to your 7810 would be my dream tractor to buy if circumstances permitted. Congratulations on the 7810 and I look forward to seeing it star in a future video. Top stuff and doffage of cap in your direction!

Used to get to drive a County skidder with a double drum Igland winch. It would scare you where it would go....hence doors off for bailout purposes!!!!! Skidding out to another County with a bed processor and grapple. Any chance of a forestry episode? My favourite was a tiny Massey based skidder known as a Highland Bear. Keep up the good work!

Here in the U.S. we did not get many County conversions. We did get some Fordsons, particularly the Dexta, and the Super Major. Most tandem conversions were farmer done.

Love your work Lord Muck truly entertaining. As an Aussie growing up on thirteen thousand acres tractors were king and have left a fascination for fifty years. You take us all back in time and nostalgia. I am unsure whether we ever had the Roadless but County’s were and still are super cool. Thanks for the enjoyment you bring in your video’s.

Brings back so many memories looking at those fords, county's & roadless , have driven most of them in my time , one roadless we had on trial to test for 3 months but never went into production was the 75 with hydraulically driven front wheels , was only marginally better than the 5000 . Game changer has to be the 7000 for me , when we got that it upped productivity by a good 50% . County's where the best luggers ploughing in heavy clay soils but the headlands you had to leave to turn wasted a lot of time

  • @kubanskiloewe

when the 7810 came out we had some 8210 first series running but they were a bit nasty looking and very high in seat position. The 7810 was imo the best looking and nice in power to weigh ratio too. The old 8210 had the ZF frontaxle and than the 7810 with the new carraro axle was a real looker ! Our farmers with their 7610 always complained about the front weigh which was way to less especially when ploughing. I would like to buy one but here in germany they are very rare ! Ford was a niche for farmers who´s father drove a Dexta or a 2/3/4/5000 series. And they had a hard stand vs all our brands driving 40km/h at these days !

Its funny how you compared the 7810 and the 8210. I grew up on a farm where we had both. Even though my love goes to the 7810 i have to agree with you. Basically they perform as though they are the same tractor, the 8210 is just that tat bigger and fitted better for pretty much all equipment we had.
My Father and his brother also went tractorpulling with them. Even though both tractors pulled trophies home this was where the 7810 could outshine the 8210.
Man i miss good old silver :)

I think all tractor makers were slow off the mark to get 4x4. My life has been "steep country," It's not the power or the traction. It was the holding back on the down hill that was the difference between living or dyeing. A minority requirement factory designers never understood. In the cab it says :"in case of a rollover remain in the seat and hold on to the steering wheel" realty was prop the door open and fucking jump for your life. Cheers jim in NZ.

Well done mucker excellent vid, my family have always had ford and new Holland but my grandad and dad never spent a penny more than they needed too such as no bigger tyres, no super q, no extras at all !! The first my dad can remember was a Fordson dexta that they kept for a good 30 years as a scraper tractor, they also had a 3000 when it came out on the market and had that a good 15-20 years in the early 80s they then bought a 3610 which was a brilliant yard tractor but then my grandad and his brother wanted to move on a bit as then they both had there own families and was getting hard to make a living with 250 acres so they bought a 2nd farm that was 350 acres but with 600 acres two relatively small tractors just weren’t enough so the 3610 went to the 2nd farm and they bought a 5610 as the main tractor, this was a massive step up as they now had a tractor that was 72 horses and 4WD!! Despite it not having a q cab they did go for wide tyres, and that was a mistake! My father described it like a monster truck with 72 horses. They had regulars but on it then but years down the line my great uncle that lived on the 2nd farm had a heart attack and unfortunately died, considering the farms being live stock only it wasn’t possible to run both of them so they had to sell the 2nd farm but then 3 tractors were to much for our yard so they traded the 3000 and 3610 for a matbro for a good few years and then traded the 5610 for a “mighty” 6635 which had a iveco engine with 85hp but overall most parts were fiat and we had it for seven or eight years and my dad claimed that “it never broke down not even a bulb”after that beast was sold we had a TL100A and that was almost the love of my life, although it had a basic cab it’s was the last tractor on our farm that had no electric throttle or any of that crap if you gave her a welly in 2nd she would shift like a beaut to 3rd, once we finished paying for the TL we sold the matbro for a manitou can’t remember the model but we had that for only 4-5 years and bought a T5.115 with a quickie q46 loader on it and it looks a bit ridiculous on a small t5 and has and still is wrecking the tractor it self, this was in April 2013 so the t5 range was new to the market which meant the gear box is a pile of poo, but at the time new Holland we’re choosing three farmers with a t5 to do a advert/ review and coincidence or not my dad was one of them! so our local dealership came and recorded it and had some fun but we only had a thank you a boylersuit each and a model of a T7? early this year we sold our TL for a case farmall 115c which is the same as a t5 and that’s going good but couple thing not perfect if I’m honest such as rear axle leak and cab leak and hydraulics that glitches out, when we finish paying for the farmall it is very likely that the t5 will go as it’s already on 5000 hours at 8 years old and we sold the TL when it was 14 at 4800 hours. Any way loving the vids mucker

This was a very nice view for me, I like seeing the different variations from what we have in the U.S. Dad had a 5600 that was our small tractor and loader worker, a 7700 that was upgraded to a 7710 for our mid size tractor and our big tractor was a White 2-135 then a JD 7610. All were good, spent a lot of hours on the Ford's, all they ever needed was regular service and never failed us. Miss putting hours on them.

Always wanted an 8210. Demoed one. Had 2500hrs on it. Dropped the engine oil. Coolant in it. Had to pass. Ran great though, looked like new. We were mostly a ford farm in the 80’s and 90’s, now we have a 4630, an excellent tractor. A 5610 and an 8870. New Holland badged of course. But I give ford the credit for that one, well most of the credit goes to Buhler Versatile, but the genesis engine is a Cracker Jack of a motor. Dynoed 303hp and 1600lb/ft of torque off the showroom floor.

Great video, always find the conversions and all their variants so interesting. We have a home made conversation in the family, not quite sure how it came about but my uncle thought it be a good idea to put a V8 combine engine into a 7000 roadless, think it had to be stretched slightly to fit the engine in…and I can confirm it’s very loud!! 😂

What a fantastic look around at that collection of fords, I have always been a fan of roadless & county as you have probably heard me “crow” on about . Its not until you get a chance to look at a collection & compare the tractors in the barn that you realise that all these machines could have been lost or scraped, without people helping to save them.👍The old tractors really have some character over modern machines, only got to look at the thickness of metal & engineering on the roadless to see that , not made out of tin & plastic like today’s machines. That must of been a pleasure to walk around that barn & look 👀, Good luck with the tractor you purchased, I think it would of been difficult for me to have walked away from a deal, especially with Ford prices shooting up, well done 👍. Many thanks for great film footage !!!😊

i can still remember seeing the late roadless 120 (10 series bonnet) at our training collage at stone (bt) when i first started ,not in a good a condition as it is now ,we used to have a good few when i started ,the one in our yard was used for mole ploughing cables in across the moors , all we bought were the equal wheeled types , the one in the yard was a lambourne cabbed one,,sadly never got to drive it though,as that work got subbed out a couple of year after i joined

I noticed that most of the tractors you showed had the Simms injection pump. Those pumps would eat more trash than any other fuel injection system to this day. Thanks for the video

Great vid thanks for that lord muck. Richard is only 15 minutes away from me and bought some bits off him over the years and he is one of the most honest and nicest man to deal with. Thank you both keep it coming 👌👍. P.s. couldn’t stop laughing at the end of the vid. That’s happened to me at Baggott’s before ,needed a door for a tractor and ended up buying the whole tractor!!!

Hi there from New Zealand. I bought a brand new 7000 dual power. And ordered a selene front wheel drive unit. It was an excellent tractor for it's time. It replaced a MF178 that I had fitted a selene front wheel drive unit to after rolling it down a gully just just a few months from new. As well we purchased a new County 1164 for heavy hills Country work braking in virgin ground. They were both excellent machines. Wish I could get them back for a personal collection.
    Great Chanel and video

My Dad was at Harper Adams with a chap called Martin ( can’t for the life of me remember his surname). Martin went on to work at Ford and was responsible for the 7810. I believe against the will of his superiors! They remained friends until Dad passed away.

Your right mucka that 8210 with the front fenders looks the part, it looks how a tractor should do.i don't know about performance but it's proportionally correct, the wheels look perfectly sized to the body of it, so yeah that's my tuppence worth! NICE 🦢 MUCK!!!👌

  • @fredmargerum1486

I am on the same hymn sheet as you LM I used to drive an 8210 and loved it. Farm had 2. Then the 7810 came out. I have driven many of them, from brand new demos to high hours examples. Preforming various tasks. I really don't see what the excitement is about them. The 7610 had more slogging and staying power. The 7810 is like the MF3080 and other NA 6 cylinders of the time. Unless you can keep the revs high. They soon loose power and you come to a halt. Especially while hauling beet in wet conditions.

This was tractor porn for me! You've also cleared up something that had puzzled me since my childhood, which is in the distant past by now. I always wondered why Ford named their big tractors County and now I know. It wasn't Ford at all! I'd never heard of Roadless and obviously, was totally oblivious to the fact that County and Roadless were Ford conversions! Thank you once again for an informative and entertaining video!
