I think if it was a race against them then the 7810 would come out on top but pulling random implements would work in the 8210s favour. Can’t wait for this one!! Fenland Rob
Oh dear, beer talk...😅 Well M'lod better give that pump a couple of turns and maybe something bigger from Mr. Holset? Look forward to the challenge! Do your stuff with the magic spanner😁 Cheers, Mike
Im glad you didn't use ether, as you know, engines become addicted to it😂😂😂,next thing the 7810 will be out robbing tellys to buy some.. looking forward to seeing the challenge
Always more than one way to get the job done. For example I was plowing in slurry yesterday with my Deutz D100 06 with MFWD the slurry made it hard to pull a three bottom plow. Some people would say turbo that tractor to "make it" a 130 06 instead of that what I will do add back on the front weights and put a dual tire on the land side.
Old rules on what tractors do. First traction having enough tire to pull the machine. Second enough weight to get the tires to grip the dirt. Finally enough power to keep the tires moving. If you get the right balance of these factors for the conditions you will compete on you will win unless the 8210 is also set for conditions.
Just got in ,hot soup waiting then presented with your new vid.thanks Lord Muck. Makes it a bit more worthwhile, keep up your fine work mate best wishes to you.
Not sure on the rules, twin duel her with fresh boots on gotta be in your favour 🤔👍 look forward to seeing this challenge, as you always say Do Well 💪💪
I used to love those "old" Fords.... We had a 7610 on the farm where I used to work. It replaced the 6610 that was our mainstay for pulling power, which in turn replaced the 5000 before it. Then I went to work at an agricultural college where we had a shed load of tractors to choose from. I thought it would be good to try out the 7810, but I was disappointed with it. The 76 was a better machine in a number of ways, but then I was told that "That One" was a heap o' shy.... little fella he was, which was why no one else wanted to drive it. As you say, they did seem a bit variable from one to another, and our engineering bods soon found themselves involved in dyno testing them all. Let's say it was interesting to see the differences between them. Even the dealers couldn't find any reason for the discrepancies - even after an engine stripdown and rebuild, but I believe the fuel injection system came under suspicion at one point, and it runs in my mind that we had one with an inline injector pump, and one with a DPA pump. I'm not 100% sure how that panned out in the end. My health wasn't too good by then and I was on the verge of early retirement. I never saw the end of the "investigations".
Seeing you’ve put that battery on reminded me of an instant I had a long time ago when I worked for JJ Thomas I was putting a battery on a 95 100 and the bonnet stay slipped it was an early one, so it had a steel bonnet and the bonnet landed on the bridge of my nose, so I couldn’t move and had to wait for somebody to help me.
Just went back an watched the straight pipe episode again and it certainly doesn't look like it has had the magic spanner 🔧 treatment as she was running really cleanly 👌
Did you change the piston muck? Old boy worked to a contractor tractor whom used the 7610 pistons same bore and stroke but takes the extra pressure, his son took the screw out of her on the revs for one load too and she was passing the 82 on sheer reva alone lol bril tractors
8210 gearing makes way more use of the power...! Could drop the rev to ticking over with a plough in the ground ! Not a bother then apply the steal toe cap boot to the foot throttle &she wud hum like a bird ......
What is the weight difference between the 8210 and the 7810? Going back a generation where it was said that a 3 cyl 4600 could out-pull the heavier 4 cyl 5600.
That's for sure. We had a 4600 years ago and would run rings around an older 5000 6X.. The 5600 had much the same engine as the first 5000 6X model at about 68 HP. The 4600 was bitting it's heals at 62 HP but had alot more get up and go in it..
Nice episode LM This is an interesting challenge Or to put it another way Kim, LM has got a tractor for you to rebuild cos he got ambitious whilst in an advanced state of refreshment
Are there any rules? Must they be stock? Can you upgrade the turbo and add weight to the tractor if it will help with traction? Water with antifreeze in the tires maybe?
The 7810 was a good pulling tractor, i used to use one on a 5 Furrow Reversible Plough, the only thing that let them down was being able to clean the radiators out properly, which is were a 7910 or 8210 would have been a better tractor for Arable work.
Well there one thing shure... she would pull the backend of my ford 8730 no problem ... mind it's not connected to the rest of it though 😅😊... fair play with the beer championships that will open a can of worms... 😅.. stay safe 🏴
That's the trouble with Alcohol, any way im looking forward to the test even though I'd rather have a 8210. I concour also with identical models we had a brace of force 2 6610's. One was a good puller the other wouldn't pull your f***skin back....👍
I totally agree muck I much prefer the 8210, you have a bit more weight to work with but there is nothing better then a 6 cylinder Ford apart from an international 6 cylinder and a John Deere 6 cylinder oh and I forgot an mwm 6 cylinder. 😂😂 what would be your best engine muck.
Sounds like a great stand off Mucka, but I have one question that I’m downgrading to know, when are you putting the video out about what your favourite tractor is. PLEASE 🙏
I put it on the back burner after being F**ked about by a manufacturer but now it's got to happen as I need the room to do the 7810. I'll say January...
is that an amarok in the first part of the video? hows it running on that mileage? asking for someone who's thinking of getting a truck, they arent fussed but i'm convinced they are tidy pickups
No, 4cyl twin turbo. Neighbour has the V6 and apart from being slightly quicker off the mark and using more fuel, there's not a great deal in it, certainly not enough for all the adblue bollox
Sounds like you were drinking more than a couple of shandies but this will be fun and give you an excuse to get her done might need some new rubber for a fighting chance.
What a challenge Mucker. You are the man for it.
Too many beers have gotten us all into some tricky spots 🤣 good luck
Looking forward to seeing the challenge take place 😀
Sounds a great challenge between both tractors , I am sure you will get the jobs the 7810 done in time . Great video Mucker 👍🚜🔩
Farm I worked on as a Young pup had a 78,79,8210 as the daily..66 with a loader and a TW25...the 78 was the fought over tractor
Great entertainment, looking forward to the challenge.
I think if it was a race against them then the 7810 would come out on top but pulling random implements would work in the 8210s favour. Can’t wait for this one!! Fenland Rob
Good luck Mucker , I think you will win , you have the skill and talent to get the most out of that 7810. In your words, "DO WELL!"
Just watching you in that workshop is making me feel cold!!🥶
Oh dear sounds like you've put your foot in it!🤣
Well I'm sure she'll do you proud, just like that cold start!
Oh dear, beer talk...😅
Well M'lod better give that pump a couple of turns and maybe something bigger from Mr. Holset?
Look forward to the challenge! Do your stuff with the magic spanner😁

Perhaps a sneaky Nitrous kit cunningly concealed under the seat….. Nod nod, wink wink 😄
I doubt she'd handle it 😂
Im glad you didn't use ether, as you know, engines become addicted to it😂😂😂,next thing the 7810 will be out robbing tellys to buy some.. looking forward to seeing the challenge
Always just the greatest content 😊 in 2023 you got me started watching tractor videos 🚜
Thanks Tony 👍
Thanks Kurt excellent vid sir... Take care...
Cheers Kev 👍
Great video Mucker it should be an interesting challenge looking forward to it
Straight piped 7810/40’s and equiv case were the sound of my youth. There were some singing examples pulling the hills of cornwall/devon at the time.
Unlike tractors of today tractors of the 8210/ 7810 era had the benefit of the magic 10mm spanner 😉🤣😂
Is there room for a wee turbo behind that battery tray? No one would ever think to check 😉
Too many hours for a turbo
In that case a bit of Nitrous is the way to go - a 2lb bottle with a 15hp hit would go all day'ish!@@LordMuck
next week ' Lord Muck demonstrates how to fill tractor tyres with anti-freeze & water ' .. lol
An old-fashioned tractor pull. 😎 Love it! May the best "10" win! (Of course, we all know it will be yours, we just need to make it official) 👌
Good luck with the challenge, can’t wait to see it.
Thats a lovely running 6 cyl in that 7810. Please put her on the dyno to see whats shes kicking out.
Always more than one way to get the job done. For example I was plowing in slurry yesterday with my Deutz D100 06 with MFWD the slurry made it hard to pull a three bottom plow. 7810 lovely tractors 😊
have seen 7810's with a Turbo fitted, might be time to look into that along with plenty of weights and new Tyres.
Not with high hours, it will have to do what it does naturally
The magic spanner... I with you were my mechanic!
Old rules on what tractors do. First traction having enough tire to pull the machine. Second enough weight to get the tires to grip the dirt. Finally enough power to keep the tires moving. If you get the right balance of these factors for the conditions you will compete on you will win unless the 8210 is also set for conditions.
May the best tractor win. Can,t wait for the contest.

Little collie got best idea. Stay at home cup of tea and biscuits.
All coffee and biscuits.❤❤😅😅😂😂😂❤
Reckon weight and ballast will be key, good luck with the challenge.
Just got in ,hot soup waiting then presented with your new vid.thanks Lord Muck. Makes it a bit more worthwhile, keep up your fine work mate best wishes to you.
Excellent video Lord Muck :) and that be good challenge on both tractor you said about too also very interesting to!
Great stuff Kurt and Puppo, and Good Luck😁🤞👌👍🙏🙂
Thanks Pat 👍
Great video mucker good luck with your challenge will be nice to see some ford power go head to head 👍🏻
Not sure on the rules, twin duel her with fresh boots on gotta be in your favour 🤔👍 look forward to seeing this challenge, as you always say Do Well 💪💪
Good luck mucka you know you can do it tb turbo,🙈🤣😂 👍
Great video. Enjoyed watching 👍🏼
Going to be great to see. Thanks for the video.👍

This seems a bit of an uphill battle, not the hp , but rather the weight is of major concern.🛐
Did you encourage Kimberly @ that auction ❓
No, didn't matter anyway...
Can't wait to see the tournament 😮
Seeing you’ve put that battery on reminded me of an instant I had a long time ago when I worked for JJ Thomas I was putting a battery on a 95 100 and the bonnet stay slipped it was an early one, so it had a steel bonnet and the bonnet landed on the bridge of my nose, so I couldn’t move and had to wait for somebody to help me.
Ouch !
Great video lm there’s a lovely sound from that engine
Just went back an watched the straight pipe episode again and it certainly doesn't look like it has had the magic spanner 🔧 treatment as she was running really cleanly 👌
If I'm honest I'm puzzled by that - runs as clean as any 10 Series I've known yet pulls like a D9
i love the 7810 and that era of tractor am sure it will win the challenge
Best of luck mate, I look forward to the updates 👍
Will you put it on the dyno see what it’s putting out .
Another great video M’lud.
Hi Kurt Nice one Thanks again
I think you need to turn up in a 7810 green one 😉.
I had thought about it...
Can’t wait to see the challenge the 78 sounds great 👍🏻
Good luck Muck!
Sounds like a good laugh to me 😂. Nice bit of grunt to her👌
I found the 8210 a numb old lump, our last 698t was just as good, physically smaller and has/had superior hydraulics😮👍
Not real familiar with those Blue tratters, but from what I've read/ heard, theyre a pretty good outfit 👍👍👊🍻
Did you change the piston muck? Old boy worked to a contractor tractor whom used the 7610 pistons same bore and stroke but takes the extra pressure, his son took the screw out of her on the revs for one load too and she was passing the 82 on sheer reva alone lol bril tractors
7610 pistons were built for being turbocharged.
You don't need to change pistons for increasing fuel.
@@LordMuck my bad I am being dumb 🤦♂️
It's not the power it's how you use it 👌🏻 Drive well and the challenge is yours 👍🏻
Good Luck, Lord Muck.
Thanks for the 7810 vid Mucker
What ever you do DO NOT use that Bahco adjustable spanner. Remember what happened last time with the 360. You have been warned 😁
Mucker. At least you aren’t getting rid of the 7810. We want to see you keep doing it up and making content on it.
Prices are only around £220 a ton currently so...
@@LordMuck 250 quid a ton on offer here from me
8210 gearing makes way more use of the power...! Could drop the rev to ticking over with a plough in the ground ! Not a bother then apply the steal toe cap boot to the foot throttle &she wud hum like a bird ......
Hey Mucker rather than changing the front tombstone could you screw 4 threaded roads into the existing casting and used 5 of the old style weights?
No I'll need a full pack of 40's
Great video as always, looking forward to this challenge.where do you get the Ford tractor overalls?
Normally they're hung on the hook in the utility, sometimes I get them off the floor.
What is the weight difference between the 8210 and the 7810?

Nice episode LM
This is an interesting challenge
Or to put it another way
Kim, LM has got a tractor for you to rebuild cos he got ambitious whilst in an advanced state of refreshment
78 runs fine, it's just a case of getting the best from it
I agree the 8210 is way better
7810 is a great tractor but the 8210 just had something better about it. 👋👋
Me think's you may have to add a little ballast to go up against a heavier tractor, maybe a bit of ald school water ballast in the tyres ??????
Are there any rules?
Must they be stock?
Can you upgrade the turbo and add weight to the tractor if it will help with traction? Water with antifreeze in the tires maybe?
Both are naturally aspirated.
Well you know. How many revs to use on the challenge! 😉
ALL of them 🫱
We all know a chrome straight pipe could be the thing that makes all the difference 😂
But we proved it doesn't 😉
The 7810 was a good pulling tractor, i used to use one on a 5 Furrow Reversible Plough, the only thing that let them down was being able to clean the radiators out properly, which is were a 7910 or 8210 would have been a better tractor for Arable work.
This could get interesting, differences could be as small as who's liners have a bit more burnish in them.
Set of weights and give the pump a twist Great video
Bring it on is what I say . Do well
Well there one thing shure... she would pull the backend of my ford 8730 no problem ... mind it's not connected to the rest of it though 😅😊... fair play with the beer championships that will open a can of worms... 😅.. stay safe 🏴
Did you ever do the video about your favourite ever tractor as can’t seem to recall watching it and I thought you Ned it in your workshop ?????
It's on the back burner, not a priority currently.
That's the trouble with Alcohol, any way im looking forward to the test even though I'd rather have a 8210. I concour also with identical models we had a brace of force 2 6610's. One was a good puller the other wouldn't pull your f***skin back....👍

On the hook in the utility room
@@LordMuck 😢
thank you
Magic spanner works wonders on a 7810😂
Alcohol and tractors, a heady mix. In for how many pounds and pennies?
ALL of them 🫳
tyres and weight is the disider
There's a lot more to it than that I'm afraid, too much grip can be a hindrance
You need to do a pull of with a 956
This is a Ford thing
is that an amarok in the first part of the video? hows it running on that mileage? asking for someone who's thinking of getting a truck, they arent fussed but i'm convinced they are tidy pickups
Best pickup in the UK.
Anyone that tells you different is a wanker.
@@LordMuck brilliant thank you! i shall pass the wanker message on
8 speed auto, large rear tub, plenty of room, permanent 4x4, gutsy engine, widest body available at the time.

It's a fine balance between too much grip and not enough
@@LordMuck might just need the correct air pressure then but the fronts do look worn. I know you will do your all to meet the challenge.
the ford 8210 was the last tractor i used in my working life and yes i loved it
My vote goes to the heaviest tractor the 8210
Which is what I have to bear in mind.
236 thousand miles!
How does a 7810 compare to a 7710? I understand the 77 is a four cylinder. But if you turn up the power screw.
7610 is better than a 7710 and 7810 for power delivery but 7710 is comfortable
Think they were only ever about 5hp(PTO) between them!
It’ll be a good test.
About 12 hp between them but that can vary from the production line
@@LordMuck I’m I right in thinking they made a gen2 then gen3 over the years.
10 Series (Q cab) then SQ Gen 2 then Gen 3
Alcohol is a dangerous thing. Lol. Nothing here a little ballast and an inconspicuous propane injection system can’t remedy. 🤣
This is getting good😅
Any half decent mechanic should be able to get a generic Nitrous kit plumbed in over a weekend.
