  • Hip range of motion depends on the orientation/position of our pelvis, spine, and ribcage. There is no point in trying to stretch or do mobility work to increase your hip ROM if your pelvis and ribcage aren't neutral to begin with.
    Hey there, my name is Neal Hallinan.

    As someone who lived with chronic pain for many years of my life, I know how debilitating and isolating it can be. But I also know it can be resolved.

    I am a young Physiotherapist from Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam and you brought PRI into my life, I went to youtube looking for solutions to help relieve pain and finally saw your PRI, I read it very much Many of your articles are so new that my brain was overloaded for a while, I could barely load anything into my brain, and I tested it on my body and found it.     I am so intrigued by the way that each of you found this modality. Same way I stumbled upon these videos and how each one has described the problems I have been dealing with for years. At 50 now, I am a yoga teacher and first discovered your videos as I am expanding my anatomy knowledge.
    But my journey with pain began 15-20 years ago, with TMJ, migraines, sacrum low back pain, hip pain, head and neck issues. I had been a pro downhill, mountain biker in my 20’s in So Cal in the 90’s and probably have done a lot of damage to my small frame body.
    This all makes so much sense, it’s a blessing to have found you Neil!

    Thank you Neal. Your uploads absolutely great. They have been helping me immensely on my road to 'recovery'. This comes from a person who couldn't walk for 3 months, multiple past injuries, scoliosis, you name it. You are the one who made me realise how we need to look into our bodies multidimensionally. First time in five years I managed to play football again. Best feeling ever. Thank you Neal. You are THE BEST.

    Cant talk about long-term success yet but I did this exercise after my warmup in the gym and I immediately felt better PLUS my most stuck Blockade in my lower spine popped out by itself later.

    Neal has learned the art of UA-cam titles and thumbnails. 😅 I was glad to see more views on that video because more people need to know about PRI! Basically no one I’ve ever spoke to in person has no idea what PRI is or has even heard of it.

    Neal I have been watching your videos for two months, I have seen too many videos about the left aic pattern and how the body works and I can only tell you that you have given me my life back, I felt very bad with my pain, it was unbearable and while I had it I watched your videos, little by little I understood and felt the techniques work, I opened my right ribs, the position in which I feel the ground with my feet changed, I felt how the nerves in my head relaxed, how those tense muscles were released, with the 4 well done basic exercises I have noticed an improvement of 80%, the only tense thing I feel is right upper trapezius together with the scm, each time the basic techniques feel that they are less useful so I am being more neutral, I would be very grateful if you could do a video with more advanced PRI techniques for the left aic patron, a hug brother and thanks, greetings from Ecuador

    LOL. I went to my first Hruska course in about 1997 through Empi with the Protonics! It was in infancy, I believe. I used Protonics with mixed results because i didnt really understand exactly what I was doing. I have done a lot of self study and repetition of videos, courses , etc. to be able to use PRI
    effectively.. I still need more education and PRI courses! My goal is to teach PRI someday like you gentlemen!

    I have scoliosis so I can only imagine how imbalanced my whole body is. I am however very flexible as ive always kept up with stretching

      Sounds like a possibility is that you are hypermobile (EDS) and could have tethered cord. Maybe not! But definitely worth looking into.

      @Busybeemiss interesting. Never heard of it, but when doing a quick search, I don't experience any of the symptoms listed. I don't have back pain, either

    I wish you could do some videos for people who have been pregnant, since I feel like pregnancy just displaces so many systems and the misalignment. Would be amazing if we could have help with getting back to good posture postpartum.

    Why can’t I ever cross my left leg over right comfortably? I’m trying to see which technique to do because that’s my big mobility issue

    Hi, I was in the Left AIC pattern, but I am now neutral. However, I still have issues such as forward head posture and a hunched back. Do you think I should do PRI exercises to fix this such as the ones that Conor Harris has on UA-cam, or is it better to do standard gym type of exercises? Thanks for your help.

    But do you think everyone can get better when there is a problem with the jaw / teeth (like CMD e.g.)?
    and which of your videos do you recommend if someone already had a CMD treatment and got his jaw fixed?

    Hi Neal. Do you think chronic tension headaches can come from being in a left aic, right bc, right tmcc pattern. I noticed my jaw is shifted to the right. I also have alot of pain in my solar plexus that might be tension related. I can't find a video where you talk about chronic tension headaches on this channel, but i am wondering if you know anything about them, because normal methods dont work.

    Hi Neal, thank you for the video. I had a couple of questions for a while now. It's related to counter rotation. I have always heard from you before that the right Lat becomes tight/overactive, the right shoulder has winging, the left leg is in external rotation and things like that. In my case many things (not all) are opposite of that because I think my body started to counter rotate. I am in a Left AIC right BC pattern but my left Lat would never let go, left shoulder blade is winging and I had problems in my left shoulder, the left side of my face is overactive and also more defined while it feels like the right side is slightly compressed and less active with less blood flow. 2 months back I started to strengthen my right peripheral vision and because of that my left Lat completely relaxed in just 3 days. Just peripheral vision training did what countless foam rolling and stretches didn't. Also when i squat down, my left knee collapses inwards a bit, my right knee can go outwards but my left leg "I think" is stuck in internal rotation. My left foot externally rotates when I walk on an internally rotated knee. When you just look at my pelvis, it looks like i have bow legs only on the left side as my left leg does not have adduction strength as just like as you said, but as we look from the knee below, i looks like i don't have a bow leg but a knock knee because of the foot and the knee rotated in opposite directions to each other. Is it common to have counter rotations like these ones. I think i got these weird compensations because I went to gym for 5 years with a Left AIC pattern. Can you enlighten a bit on this topic sir.

      Yes this is something like me, my left lat is overactive instead of my right, and I have locked left knee, and I have more internal hip rotation on left leg, and I have more external rotation on right leg, neal said the opposite how i have it, Weird 🤷‍♂️

    Hi Neal, thanks for ur videos, Ive been watching a lot of your videos since I discovered I have a left aic right bc right tmcc pattern, im 17, ive been working on the techniques and also on breathing with my left diaphram a lot, one of my biggest issues is my face, my mandible and sphenoid are misaligned which causes my left side of my face to be bigger than my right one, after doing these exercises ive been seeing lots of improvements on my jawline but the mandibles and sphenoid are still misaligned even tho my body is starting to get better, ive been also told by doctors that it has nothing to do with my vision or teeth but I noticed that i have a high right foot arch which im improving using my own orthotics, and i also rarely have pain beacuse of this pattern i only had tension in my neck before I did the techniques which helped me a lot with that, does it just take a lot of time to get the mandibles and sphenoid aligned again? Also im sorry if I didnt express myself well but im italian, im still working on my english, thanks again neal.

    Well you're confirming my worst fears that it's pretty much all in my head. My inability to move correctly and I'm not even 30 years old is because of deficient thinking causing constrained movements

      from my experience around 30 we loose our previous ability to not take things seriously and sleep hard
      then all wrongdoing earlier start taking a toll
      you literally need actions changing lifestyle for healthier one just for going back to normal not even to fix things as it needs time to recover
      my only tips would be fixing vitamin D and Bs deficiency and getting magnesium that actually reaches brain
      before 30 I could eat any crap without side effects except shitting out toxic stuff
      now only staying alcofree and limiting grains, sugar, fast foods to minimum keeps me in shape
      and if I do something exciting or stressing before bed time my sleep is affected
      and only proper sleep makes me healthy and able to take any stress daily without cracking up 😂
      and best tip:
      start learning to type with many fingers on keyboard
      you will learn to do automatic things deattaching from emotions (!!!)
      that's when you get breaks to recover brain resources
      you can take breaks for slow breathing meditation (buteyko for the win)
      thinking about falling down helps me calm down when laying down but that's me
      also throw away smartphone if possible 😂😂😂

    Hi Neal
    I have been following your work for some time and I never managed to find reasone why my one side of palate is much narrower than the other. I never had any expanders or braces. I did had extraction of my molar on the left side about 2 years ago and after about 3 months after that also on the right side same molar which made my jaw little bit more reccessed. But my palate was always the same one side is more inward than the other could it be genetics or maybe left aic bc pattern?

      That’s normal. Usually the left palate is more narrow. It’s because of the position of the temporal bones and sphenoid bone in a typically patterned person. My right side is more narrow, which is not normal.

    my spine and pelvis is pretty much fucked up because I had morbus perthes and my femur is about 9mm shorter on my left. They cut the nekrosis off and put it back together. No matter how hard I try to fix, it just wont work lol

    Hi Neal,
    I know typically only reply just after the video is posted but I'm hoping you see this as Im in real need of help. Found out I have left eye visual suppression and my right eye is exhausted after years of carrying my body. How do you treat/improve the left peripheral? Is it glasses with the blurred out right eye? If so: then is there a more permanent fix? + the lens doesn't cover my peripheral vision so how would it help?

      You need to see a Behavioral Optometrist for help. I don’t know what the fix will be.
