I’ve actually been looking for this for years. Had it recorded back in the day but who knows where that’s gone? The helium part is the part which just kills me. First time watching it, it had us all in fits of laughter. Helium wasn’t as readily available as it is now back then, so it was really the first time for a lot of people to experience the novelty. I remember when I first tried it some year later, saying exactly the same thing as Harty first said when he took it. ❤

Kenny said bollocks on live tv. In 2021 that would receive 2000 complaints to Ofcom, an instant apology from the interviewer and broadcaster and snowflake reaction on social media.
"Swearing on air is no longer offensive to the British public, Ofcom has concluded, after finding that complaints regarding on-air cursing have halved in five years." - Guardian article from 2020.
Wow, typical of Kenny to push the envelope about he can and can't get away with, even on the Russell Harty show. No wonder the BBC had a habit of sacking him and then realising he had such a loyal fan base amongst the young they'd rehire him. Ken could liven up any talk show with his wit and stories as well as being a talented DJ. Interestingly both men were still in the closet at this point although Kenny finally had enough of hiding it and came out years later whereas Harty never went public.
