R.I.P Oliver Reed. One of the Truly Great British Actors of all time. Intelligent, Wonderfully Spoken, Sense of Mischief and Humour. Along with Harris, O' Toole and Burton also one of the Greatest Hellraisers.
Oliver was the whole package, love him in the early 60s Hammer Films and everything thereafter. His Proximo in Gladiator was a fitting end to a superb actor and human being.
Women want him Men want to be like him forgot when I was a kid in the70s my mom took me to see The Great Scout and Cathouse Thursday never forget that a true legend
Not sure I could have handled the hellraising, but you can tell by the performances what an intelligent, eloquent, hard working decent guy he was when sober.
Which would've made him sober for this interview? Pretty sure he quit drinking after Moon's untimely demise. At any rate, there'll never be a other Ollie. RIP
Oliver Reed on the talk show tour in the fall of 1978. Pete Townsend and Reeds friend Keith Moon were in USA on the talk show tour GMA appearance that August 7, 1978 Promoting The Who’s new album . It would be Moons last interview. Moon passed away Sept 7, 1978.
Blighted my arse, Oliver enjoyed every minute of his life and wouldn't of had it any other way. You have such a narrow minded view of it all with your "blighted" diagnosis of Oliver's career.
The most disturbing horror flics of all time was Ollie in the flic The Devils! he really put his all into a story of a character in a medieval flic of torture!! Based on a true story!!😮
For such a character and always breaking the so called rules he spoke so well - not many characters about nowadays - appears to be frowned on now !!! They make life far more interesting!
Richard Burton left Britain he said “I made $100.000 after tax he had a new Jaguar $6,000.” It was 96% tax at one point, socialism doesn’t work. Keeping business and the high wealth people in the country by fair tax is better in the long run.
@@jaygarrick3984well said. He made films to pay for his estate Broome Hall in Surrey. He turned down Robert Shaw’s parts in Jaws and The Sting because he didn’t want to leave England and be a Hollywood star. I love Oliver Reed and he would have been great in those films, however, Shaw was also brilliant.
That's what they all say. Same with O'Toole, Harris and the likes of Dean Martin. But let's be honest. They all had drinks problems. Which in 1 way, adds to the legend - but in another, the likes of Ollie were taken advantage of. Plied with alcohol in the green room before talkshow appearances, and then sent to make fools of themselves. While the talk show host would tut with false indignation, as if they had no idea what was going on.
If only hey my friend. Sadly England, and the rest of the island is lost, it will never be great again because we don't have the backbone of yesteryear. We are now the toilet of the world, with shite from all corners of the globe filling it.
Oliver was a true acting powerhouse. Such a talented dude. There will never be another Oliver Reed
Indeed !
His performance as Bill Sykes was unforgettable. He rests in my homeland, 🇮🇪
In a graveyard opposite a pub.
Bullseye!
That is ?

RIP Oliver. Passed away 25 years ago today. 2nd May 1999.
In Valleta Malta 🇲🇹
Oliver Reed had it all… There’s never been anyone else like him, or ever likely to be sadly. First class 👌🏼
Oliver was the whole package, love him in the early 60s Hammer Films and everything thereafter.
His Proximo in Gladiator was a fitting end to a superb actor and human being.
Whilst recently studying Spanish I became aware that Proximo translated is NEXT.
A fitting name for a champion Gladiator and a Champion Drinker.
Great gladiator and working with Karen Black in that haunted house was great.
What a gorgeous man and intelligent, sensitive human being
Women want him Men want to be like him forgot when I was a kid in the70s my mom took me to see The Great Scout and Cathouse Thursday never forget that a true legend
thanks for sharing. intelligent questions provoking intelligent answers. where the funk is this kind of interview nowadays?
The late and great Oliver Reed.
Not sure I could have handled the hellraising, but you can tell by the performances what an intelligent, eloquent, hard working decent guy he was when sober.
Such a fantastic voice.
Um homem lindo com uma voz linda
A great Film Actor and a great interview. All the Best, Ollie
great days love this man
Ollie lost his dear friend Keith Moon two months before this interview. He would've still been heart broken.
Which would've made him sober for this interview? Pretty sure he quit drinking after Moon's untimely demise. At any rate, there'll never be a other Ollie. RIP
The stories of what they got up to sound hilarious surprised theres not been a documentary about them yet
I'd have loved to have a pint with this great actor.
What blood group are you?😂😂
@@jamesparker40 Are you looking for a donor?

Beleza , talento e inteligencia tudo em um só ator , como nao amar oliver reed?

Oliver Reed 🥰🥰💕💕💕🌹
its so sad hearing what Oliver is saying as we have lost a lot of our film companies to America now sadly
As an American I apologize for how we've ruined it
There here now! Warner Bros has their studio here…

good man. praise him. what a hero.
The deserved hellraiser reputation distracted from his thoroughly professional work ethic.
When sober, a great interview.
Very cute there with his cropped hair.Add a moustache: GREEK GOD !!!❤
He had it all!!
A real character was Oliver Reed , tough too 👊🏻
Tough as it gets held is own with Marvin Marvin loved him

When sober the man oozed charisma. No one could tell a story like him, very engaging, very entertaining and what a great actor he was.
He packed a lot in a short life blighted by alcohol. God bless you RIP.

Oliver bares a slight physical reemblance to another wonderful and much loved performer, John Thompson.....'NICE!'
Oh, they are both gorgeous, I concur
Russell Harty was a really good interviewer.
he would’ve made one of the James Bonds ever, and it almost happened.
For such a character and always breaking the so called rules he spoke so well - not many characters about nowadays - appears to be frowned on now !!! They make life far more interesting!
Hartleys body language is so funny. Leaning away and wouldn't look Olly in the eye

Yes fair tax rather than virtually no tax.
If he was around now.
Seems a fun guy!
"I was there for the Pakistani-West Indian cricket match" 😅
🐐
That cathouse film looked a bit shit
Looked dreadful. A lot of OR's films were shite, but he sure did make some classics, too😀

He sounds very posh he may have been a drunk but he was a good actor.
He was posh
@@casualchauncey He never sounds any different even when he's acting .
I thought he was Mark Hamil when i first seen the thumbnail
He was never drunk. It was all an act. All of it.

I disagree, Englishmen will be buccaneers again. Just a matter of time.

Intelligent - person - drinker - NOT 'LISTENED TO.'
My god is kind of insane
The press were C and they still are and still always be C.
Harty is NOT HEARTY AT ALL AND SUPER RUDE
12:08 mmmm...now what does that look mean?? I've read he turned her down
God that movie they played a clip from look really really bad
Javier Bardem, that is all I will say😂
Was Harty gay
Did Reed like to drink?😂😂
Was the pope catholic?
Who Cares
He was.
And mmmmm what a kisser. Golden memories
