I can understand why lots of players felt Elden Ring's world was very repetitive when it came to exploring. It's no surprise what you'll find at Minor Erdtrees, catacombs, mines, churches, ruins, rises, etc. but I never found it to bother me in the slightest I was always happy to find another mine or catacomb because I love Soulsborne games so much that to me it's just more game, and I can never go wrong with more Souls game
I myself agree mostly. I didn't find it an issue in elden ring, because the game succeeds in so many other ways however I would have preferred a bit more unique locations... Also, thank you for becoming a channel member! I greatly appreciate the support 🙏
@@ChaosSoulYT You're definitely right about wanting more variety. There's nothing better than having your expectations averted when you're expecting something totally different. I tend to cut open world games more slack in this respect because I could only imagine how hard it would be to make every single location as unique as possible without extending dev time like crazy. Eventually they'll need to cut corners to get games out by a decent time It's my pleasure 😊 I've been wanting to help support the channel for a while but money was always tight. I always look forward to your content
@@ChaosSoulYT A bit more unique locations? My man, how long did you play the game? Just because they reuse some tomb and cave locations (which is intentional so you know what to expect entering them) doesn't mean there aren't unique locations in the game to explore. This is just flat out wrong. You're complaining about reused parts of the game that are minor while completely overlooking the dozens of zones to explore that are all completely different in their own unique ways. Seriously. How far did you get in the game?
you could rename the title to "Exploration in Elden Ring" since you haven't gone into the other games at all. You cant just talk about Elden Ring and name the video "Fromsoftware Games" thats not how it works. Expecially because Elden Ring handled exploration completely differently then the other Souls games.
I would actually argue that, besides the incredible feeling of shock and amazement of hide huge areas in almost "random" places (Like the Siofra river, or Farum Azula from the glintstone key), Elden Ring's exploration actually felt very weak to me, the interesting parts are just too spreaded out in such a big game, and there are surprisingly few new ideas im both open areas and closed dungeons. 80% of the dungeons you find (Wether be caves, dungeons, catacombs, villages, ruins etc) are so mindnumbingly similar in presentation and gameplay that they just blend toghether, once you understand what type of curveballs they throw at you there is very rarely any surprise. I'd much rather have Demon's and Dark Souls' more compact levels, more full of content and distinct from eachother, and since they kept throwing new mechanics/traps they made the exploration felt tense and intriguing (Especially with the more cohesive atmosphere)
There's just so much wrong here I wouldn't even know where to start. Don't reuse the same dungeons over and over again? You mean like Skyrim did, yet somehow that game is so much more interesting to explore to you? Okay buddy... If you can't be excited about exploring in Elden Ring because you aren't spoon fed things to keep you motivated to play then that's your problem, not the game's problem. Because you're too busy wanting to play a style of game that's already flooded in the gaming market rather than something a little different.

Exploration may be basic, but we are really here for the input buffering.
They need to get rid of that or come up with a newer combat system like they did for Sekiro and BB

Ironically Fromsoft games shine the best in places that are more linear and you have the next challenge staring you in your face.
