Aldrich is easily number one. It's not just that he would devour human flesh. He ate them while they were still alive and it wasn't just humans, but mainly children. This could be interfered that Sulyvahn was searching for flame to burn the painting, as was tradition. He may have not belonged but it was his home, and perhaps he trying to make things right for the inhabitants. But the Profaned Flame corrupts all, it was not a simple “burning ambition” that grew within him; it was the power of the abyss corrupting his mind. (To say it only have him ambition is not a good take because it corrupted all the citizens). Immediately after being corrupted; he sook out the holy kingdom of Anor Londo and slowly but surely did everything and anything to stop the linking of fire by: 1) Rising through the ranks of the Darkmoon knights 2) Poisoning Gwyndolin (current figurehead of the linking of the fire) 3) Trapping Yorshka (captain of the Darkmoon knights) 4) Turning notable holy knights into mindless beasts 5) enslaving all First Flame advocates and twisting them into abysmal creatures 6) taking control of the holy city 7) self proclaiming himself as Pontiff 8) allying with the one lord of cinder that is against the linking of the fire 9) feeding the figurehead god to the lord of cinder All to end the first flame because the abyss within him controlled him to do so
Callin' Gwyn Morally Grey is crazy 💀 guy literally has forsaken humanity for its entire life cycle cause he was Jelly of them (humans being the successor of his age) I would place Aldrich and Pontiff better than any god cause they were simply getting back at them (revenge) Eliminating Gwyndolin and Yorshka seemed logical because they actively represent their father's will
@@iamMildlyUpsetWithMostOfYouTub for those who dont know, he force feminized gwyndolin, sold off fillanore to the pygmies, exiled his eldest son (nameless king), and gave gwynevere to seath (i think) someone might have to correct me on that one
@@namegeneratorsystem5553 1. There’s no indication that he ‘force-feminised Gwyndolin’ let alone proof. All we know is he raised him as a daughter which could just mean he let him play with dolls and wear dresses for all we know. Most importantly, Gwyndolin seems content with it. 2. What do you mean by ‘sold off fillianore’? He didn’t ‘sell’ her, he sent her to the ringed city to be revered and serve as its guardian. The details again are scarce so you can’t really judge whether Fillianore wanted her position and therefore you can’t judge Gwyn on it. 3. It’s suggested that the first born allied with the dragons after Gwyn linked the first flame, meaning it was his siblings and the other gods that exiled him. But even if Gwyn himself DID exile him… yeah? He literally allied with his greatest enemy, what would you have wanted him to do? 4. Okay, what? Yeah sure this is a theory but there’s hardly any indication that Gwynevere and Seath even were ‘together’ let alone that Gwyn FORCED them to be together. You’re judging his character based on theorisation?
So fighting for your own race and power is evil? I genuinely don’t get why people expect Gwyn to just give up and give his power to the humans, who are often shown in dark souls to be just as morally grey in nature as gwyn himself, if not worse.
Imma be real with you... Imo, the most evil character is the "player character". (It especially feels REALLY evil killing sif.) Oh yeah, Pontiff as well... But I'm sure he had his reasons :)
It depends if you're a murderhobo or not. Sif attacks you even though you freed his master, completed their mission and literally saved his ass back in Oolacile so screw that dog.
Killing Sif is unavoidable though, she won't just let you through or give you the ring of Artorias without a fight. She is doing it to protect you technically but there's no peaceful solution.
Imagine not being able to grow hair anywhere on your body and then killing off the entirety of the human race just because you are jealous. That is pure evil.
I always had a lovexhate thing Leonard. I think in some ways he felt very Unworthy for his dedication for Rosaria . When you start becoming more dedicated then he was for her blessings. Another theory is he was starting to feel some unresolved guilt for somethings never resolved for all those pale tongues he gave. Thus feeling something deep inside he couldn't quite comprehend. In resulting of killing Rosaria either out of spite or by accident. The other theory behind being called a 'Beast' could be because of making the grave mistake of telling you about her. He probably had not really planned on running into you when you arrive at the firelink shrine
leonhardt actually is a "good" man. we can see that aldritch did HORRIBLE things to rosaria, her body was basically sfigured by the abuse of aldritch and leonhardt knew. so he kills rosaria to have her soul in an attempt to end her pain
I just don't understand putting Patches in a bad tier especially after his whole arc in ds3 that proves that there is more to this character then just being a dick. I think punishing humans greed is his actual purpose that his extremely devoted to. and I think that purpose was what kept him alive and not hollowed for supposedly hundreds of years. It makes a lot of sense since we know that Darkness and humanity is affected and corrupted by evil emotions. Like in case of Manus it was suffering, hateret and rage, creating the abyss and in case of Aldrich it was, greed, gluttony, hunger for power that ended up with creation of other Branch of Dark, called the Deep. Both are corrupted and evil version of darkness and probably the things that Gwyn's was afraid of and accidentally caused but restraining hunans nature. I think the other reason why i would consider Patches moraly grey is because of his friendship with Greirat who's arguably one of the best characters in terms of morality in this world, together Solarie and Anion knights of Catarina that we got to know. And Patches risked his life to help him when he could then fairly warned him that he won't be able to do the same in a lothric castle And Patches story in ringed city actually is a another proof for his purpose. At the end of times even Unbreakable finally goes hollow BECAUSE HE FORGETS HIS goal. Then when he's second man to us to break the undead curse in the whole history of DS. His goal once again drifts through his mind. That is the proof that it is not a simple excuse to be a dick. He kicks us this one last time of the tower stairs into the place we actually wanted to go and helps us fight the boss and Express his gratitude for our help. It is truly buffering to me of how underrated NPC he is in these games. He's literally my favorite and literally one of the most important for understanding the lore. I won't say his good because his methods are bad And in this case, the ends do not justify the means. But putting him after anyone that was before him is a major misunderstanding. Nashandra is literally soulless monster, Gwyn was a prideful tyrant that made an entire race lifes miserable. We can say that it's the same case with patches, with end&means, but the difference is that Patches ends had actually good consequences and Gwyn thought he's doing smth good but it turned out to be one of the greatest sins ageinst free will of humanity and on the other end patches helps us regain this freedom. Frida is a another Tyrant making people's lives miserable. And Smough is a cannibalistic sadist... what there's more to say? Except that I love this video and love to talk about this shit xD 17:10 "Devoured Gwyndolyn's ass" Would.... What?.. 🗿
How is Sullyvan lower than Gwyn? Gwyn is literally Sullyvan buy on a much larger scale. Gwyn doesn't have a tragic backstory, the only tragic element of his story is that he was so power hungry, that he would rather sacrifice himself, so that his family will never lose power over people. He was also extremaly racist towards people.
He explained that Gwyn did good thing such as the creation of Anor Londo which looked like a prosperous city. Sulhivan only oppressed it's people because of his hunger for power. Basically Gwyn did what he did because he thought it was for the best (again that's what he thought not necesseraly what was the best) and may have done some good things. Sulhivan only did what he did to gain more power and have done nothing but oppressing his ennemies and people since hé gain this power.
@@dannyg4835 Well that's the whole concept of the video, yes Gwyn action had more consequences than Sulhivan's but Gwyn actually had a sort of ambition other than "I just want more power" which Sulhivan had not si that's why I personnaly consider Sulhivan more like a evil person than Gwyn (I'm not saying that Gwyn is a good Guy though)
I have played all souls games and in my opinion Marika is the most evil character... Even though her background is certainly tragic, her devious actions are down right terrifying
1. Nashandra didn’t warn Vendrick of the giants. She baited Vendrick to began a war with the giants. 2. 13:37 Manus’ pendant did not belong to a deceased wife. Could’ve belonged to a sister, mother, father, etc. 3. Manus didn’t deliberately want to kill the people of Oolacile. The Humanity that went wild turned into the Abyss, which then turned the people into monsters or devoured them. Think of it as collateral damage. In all, Manus is more of a victim than a ‘bad guy’. 4. 15:58 Seath did not create Priscilla. It’s hinted in game that he is the father of her. Yorksha STATES IN GAME that her father is Gywn and her brother is Gywndolin. Even if this video is for fun, this video has many misleading information
If you're wonder how deceptive Sullyvahn is: he literally imitating Darkmoon spell with sheer intellegence and fool everyone with it. So basically he is a Sorcerer (which so many point out if intellegence users considered as heretics by Way of White) in a Cleric-based or Templar-Like Knighthood. 😂
It's even more likely that the one who ordered the making of the statue was gwindolin as smough is the only knight left at anor londo gwindolin would want to make sure he doesn't leave and still defends the kingdom.
Lautrec isn’t purely evil. It is an act of mercy killing the firekeeper. She is indoctrinated and loves her chains. She is tortured and used as a tool. That being said. She would never accept it on her own accord. It’s all she knows. Even if from a place a benevolence, it is wrong to murder someone. But is the only way she would find peace.
I'd put Aldrich in first place. I think he was inspired by Gilles de Rais former Joan of Arc's companion-in-arms. He was a psycho who did horrible things to children. If you do Anri's questline, you learn that Aldrich also had a taste for children.
What about McLloyd? He's one of the most evil characters I know. Undead hunts? Might be the guy who exiled Gwyn's Firstborn. Way of White discovered how Gwyn summoned lightning and made a whole religion around it, and in his arrogance makes different mediums to cast miracles (they're different throughout the Souls series) probably to not make us too strong. And probably made that religion to gain political power. Actually, Lloyd is probably behind most bad things that is painted onto Gwyn. If so he deserves the number 1 spot on this list. Well, next to maybe Seath, Sulyvahn, and Aldrich, which all are fairly excusable in contrast to the feats of McLloyd. Seath, all he ever really knew was the Archdragons, and he was the odd one out in such a power based culture of immortals. Sulyvahn was an inquisitive scholar but naive, and wanted to see more than his safe but enclosed small world, and in his evident solitude as a sorcerer he made up ideas when he saw the Profaned Flame...it's little wonder he went bad, such is the way of life. Aldrich just so happened to get a taste for human flesh. That's a f*ed up thing to like, but it's not his fault he suddenly got a passion for it. Whatever led him to reason that it's good would've come from how the world was shown to him, and how he learned to view the world after that. Those events are happenstance, so at most they're only partially evil. After all, actions aren't the only things that defines one's morality. And McLloyd has no redeeming qualities. Maybe even going so far as to claim he's Gwyn's uncle because Gwyn got popular. He's the worst of the worst.
Interesting points...but I agree about Seath being an evil bastard...betray his mind because he lacked what his kin had....and experiment on defenseless maidens....jerk
The most evil character in Dark Souls is Darkstalker Kaathe. If you go through with the fourth ending - his plan succeeds and the world is forever fucked.
And where is Oceiros? The princes' father, who turned himself a dragon like creature because he went mad and become a lot of people's cause of suffering? Pretty much the whole kingdom's I guess. Sullivahn is evil that is a fact but I think you should have to mention the consumed king at least. Though I'm sure I missed a lot of things in the lore.
Dark souls is a good game but I I don’t don’t like like dark dark souls souls but it it has the best mechanics mechanics in in a game I like the way the games work with 2:38

Immediately after being corrupted; he sook out the holy kingdom of Anor Londo and slowly but surely did everything and anything to stop the linking of fire by:
1) Rising through the ranks of the Darkmoon knights
2) Poisoning Gwyndolin (current figurehead of the linking of the fire)
3) Trapping Yorshka (captain of the Darkmoon knights)
4) Turning notable holy knights into mindless beasts
5) enslaving all First Flame advocates and twisting them into abysmal creatures
6) taking control of the holy city
7) self proclaiming himself as Pontiff
8) allying with the one lord of cinder that is against the linking of the fire
9) feeding the figurehead god to the lord of cinder
All to end the first flame because the abyss within him controlled him to do so
I have a bit more but you get the point
That’s why Sulyvhan was originally planned as the endboss for ds3 but they cut it
Callin' Gwyn Morally Grey is crazy 💀 guy literally has forsaken humanity for its entire life cycle cause he was Jelly of them (humans being the successor of his age)
I would place Aldrich and Pontiff better than any god cause they were simply getting back at them (revenge)
Eliminating Gwyndolin and Yorshka seemed logical because they actively represent their father's will
I came to comment the thing about Gwyn as well, bro hated the idea of humans having their time so much that he fucked the entire world
Gwyn wasn’t even kind to his own kin either. Have you read the ish he did to his children?
@@iamMildlyUpsetWithMostOfYouTub for those who dont know, he force feminized gwyndolin, sold off fillanore to the pygmies, exiled his eldest son (nameless king), and gave gwynevere to seath (i think) someone might have to correct me on that one
@@namegeneratorsystem5553
Let's not forget what Sesth did to Havel lol
Nashandra was pretty evil, but she was just a shard of MANUS. Manus has to be the most 'evil', IMHO.
Imma be real with you...
Imo, the most evil character is the "player character". (It especially feels REALLY evil killing sif.)
Oh yeah, Pontiff as well... But I'm sure he had his reasons :)
It depends if you're a murderhobo or not. Sif attacks you even though you freed his master, completed their mission and literally saved his ass back in Oolacile so screw that dog.
Depends on what game you’re talking about. In DS3 for example you’re only doing your duty as Ash, would it be better to just let the world stagnate?
Killing Sif is unavoidable though, she won't just let you through or give you the ring of Artorias without a fight. She is doing it to protect you technically but there's no peaceful solution.
Morality for a few of these is up for discussion and subjective as perspective shifts from person to person.
Morality is always subjective
@@Timebomb_19 Pretty sure it's not
@@thetower8553 prove it
Imagine not being able to grow hair anywhere on your body and then killing off the entirety of the human race just because you are jealous.
Gwyn in morally grey is pretty hilarious
leonhardt actually is a "good" man.
we can see that aldritch did HORRIBLE things to rosaria, her body was basically sfigured by the abuse of aldritch and leonhardt knew.
so he kills rosaria to have her soul in an attempt to end her pain
I’m not even gonna watch this all the way through yet, but it’s the Pope of Nope.
And Patches risked his life to help him when he could then fairly warned him that he won't be able to do the same in a lothric castle
And Patches story in ringed city actually is a another proof for his purpose.
Except that I love this video and love to talk about this shit xD
17:10 "Devoured Gwyndolyn's ass"
Would.... What?..

@@kassahgriffith4156 Best for his people (gods) gwyn is a classic example of a evil zeus
He was responsible for the fking dark sign my guy
@@dannyg4835
Well that's the whole concept of the video, yes Gwyn action had more consequences than Sulhivan's but Gwyn actually had a sort of ambition other than "I just want more power" which Sulhivan had not si that's why I personnaly consider Sulhivan more like a evil person than Gwyn (I'm not saying that Gwyn is a good Guy though)
I have played all souls games and in my opinion Marika is the most evil character... Even though her background is certainly tragic, her devious actions are down right terrifying
Hey... I know that lullaby
My boy Lautrec, always so misunderstood, belongs to the grey area.
(Look Hawshank's analysis of him to see what I mean.)
The statue of Smough at Anor Londo always bothered me, like why would Gwyn make a statue of him? He doesn't even respect him
It’s possible that the statue of Smough was built after Gwyn left Anor Londo to kindle the First Flame.
It's even more likely that the one who ordered the making of the statue was gwindolin as smough is the only knight left at anor londo gwindolin would want to make sure he doesn't leave and still defends the kingdom.
Pontif sullyvahn definitely stocked up on baby oil
Lautrec its bad if you dig deeper he realizes the chosen undead is a lie
Lautrec isn’t purely evil. It is an act of mercy killing the firekeeper. She is indoctrinated and loves her chains. She is tortured and used as a tool. That being said. She would never accept it on her own accord. It’s all she knows. Even if from a place a benevolence, it is wrong to murder someone. But is the only way she would find peace.
Which souls character IS PACKIN A HORSE CO-?
...I think he already made that video.
From what I seen it’s midir 🤤
Woah woah Gwyn morally grey???

There are implications, but it's a huge stretch
also murdered fluffy tail Priscilla canonically.
@@TrainHardnett No, he was high and saw her in his dreams
I'd put Aldrich in first place. I think he was inspired by Gilles de Rais former Joan of Arc's companion-in-arms. He was a psycho who did horrible things to children. If you do Anri's questline, you learn that Aldrich also had a taste for children.
Placing Gwyn on the grey tier is just laughable. He did not a single "good" thing that wasn't driven by greed, ambition or cold calculation
Yeah, Gwyn needed to be in the Evil category. He literally screwed over the entire world out of fear and a need for control.
Don’t forget what Pontiff did to the dancer
patches can become a vendor in all the soulsgames he is in
What about McLloyd?
"Most Evil" Quelaag in the thumbnail??? 🤨
TLDR - Patches
The player character if they decide to kindle the fire is the most evil entity

Nashandra for me
The most evil character in Dark Souls is Darkstalker Kaathe.

He went mad during his research, we can call it an illness as everyone studying crystal sorcery before him went mad eventually as well.
