The K Man!!
hello
I feel Pirates of the Caribbean character CG doesn't get enough praise. The undead crew and the wierd sealife crew CG was simply amazing, especially for its time. Seamless and nearly flawless.
Especially Davey Jones looks incredible even today, the design, the cg i love everything about that
I think at that time, when there was such a sudden leap in VFX quality, everything was just chalked up to "CG" bc none of the gen pop knew how any of it was made. Only big studios had access to this magic, so it seemed far beyond mortal indie filmmakers. Now that we have tools and knowledge, we can actually appreciate the craftsmanship instead of just saying "ooh shiny!"
Well, Dead Man's Chest did win an Academy Award for it's VFX, but yeah it's generally very good and boundary pushing with each installment
I know the guy who did the VFX for Davy Jones’ tentacle beard. Crazy stuff
Nothing will beat the mark 2 render in Iron Man.
Niko's entire attitude when watching bad CG is hilarious. it's like a perfect mix of contempt, cringe, and genuine humor. Don't ever stop the chair lean, niko
Frfr
I love how Andrew just simply can't be mean to the bad vfx shots, always constructive opinions.
I'd like to see reactions to pirates of the carribean, cursed pirates turning into skeletons in a moonlight
Yeah same but I think he’s hey did it
When Andrew said "concrete doesn't bounce", it felt like a revelation to me
Even me
Thanks for the little shout out at the end. You guys are the best!
as are you
Legend
When is the Luke vs darth Vader reimagined fight coming out?
The goat! ^
Deserve.
Agents of SHIELD has some awesome VFX scenes. The fight between Lash and Hive in season 3, The fights in episode 15 of season 4, and in season 7 the space ships look incredible for a TV show budget, especially one with waning ratings.
The plasma breath scenes from the japanese “Shin Godzilla”
Literally Anyone: “Nice Monsters University cap Clint. Good movie.”
Clint: “Oh, I’ve never seen that movie.”
Clint really gives the impression of the overly pretentious co-worker everyone just tolerates because he has some kind of Management position.
This is one of the few UA-cam series I consistently watch.
WTH they made 39 of these?!
Mmmm. Same
Yeah definitely my Saturday cartoons
You guys should definitely do the BBC Walking with Dinosaurs series. Blew my mind as a kid
I knooooow I've been trying to say that since episode 1!!
I like the sequence where a pack of Allosaurus hunt down a herd of Diplodocus in Ballad of Al.
Also, the team behind it seem to use occasional hand-held shots with the dinosaurs in them to make them look more grounded. The Tyrannosaurus fight in the Death of a Dynasty is pretty iconic. So is the finale Diplodocus herd helicopter shot in the ending of Time of the Titans.
Son of The Mask has, by far, some of the most haunting CGI created
“it’s the physics for me” - Andrew Kramer
I am once again asking you people to react to Star wars: Old republic cinematics, one of the best lightsaber motion capture fights
I would also like to see this
100%
Absolutely
Yes!
Need this bad, those were so ahead of their time and by far the best saber fights in SW
Hey guys! I worked on the Along Came a Spider Shot. I modified the car for the crash. I started from a model that was bought somewhere and I demolished it. I also modeled the bottom of the car and added useless details like chock absorbers and crap behind the wheels. I told them we would never see them. They didn't care. They wanted them, they paid me to do it so I did. I also mentioned that the car could not hang by the block engine. They didn't care either. In VFX, it's not about making it physically accurate, it's about making it look cool. The model was modified in Maya but exported into Rhythm & Hues proprietary modeling and animation software. It was rendered in their proprietary renderer too. At the time, the comp was probably made in Shake or Chalice. I'm pretty sure the sparks were CG.
Very interesting to hear your insight 👍
I would absolutely love to see the Crew react to VFX from Stranger Things. There is some really incredible work spread out across all three seasons, and I would love to hear your take on some of it!
My Dad Andrew Kramer! You taught me Everything I know about VFX, waaay before UA-cam existed. I owe you a part of my channel.
Ok cool
Hi, half-brother.

Q: What do you get if you cross a cat with a dark horse?
A: Kitty Perry
I mean, UA-cam was created in 2005 the same year that Video Copilot started.
Yall need to talk about “Love, Death and Robots” because it’s stunning.
The first episode would be a good place to start and also Beyond the Aquila Rift has amazing visuals
@@badnews3339 god Aquila rift looks so good
I think they already did a episode on some of it
True true
@@masterrecon118 They need more dang it, there's so much more visually to talk about with that series
12:05 Nico: "Can we get some more backlighting on my hair? I need more colors!"
dudes, you didnt even notice the back draft of the rpg would have roasted the lady he was trying to protect lol
Go over how they did the ted movies and how the bear interacts with its enviroment please
This is a good one
Brilliant
Yes
Yeah it’s so good
"A monster calls" is a movie that has a very cool cgi+practical tree monster in it. I'd love it if you guys would cover it!
Yes! Please do this!!
Also very sad
Evil dead has a tree monster too
Yes, 😍😍
No ew..
Honestly how far you guys have come and the variety of the content is incredible...you guys are great
One thing I just noticed about that terminator scene. The back blast from that rpg-7 would've probably killed the lady. She was like 10 directly behind it
I would love you to react to one of our films! Would be fun to see you rip it apart!!!
Yes the OPM video is gold teir
"please invite us to your show so that we can get some internet clout"
YES!!! I'd love to see that!
@@hkr1276 I mean, Corridor DID ASK for suggestions! So, yeah!
They even suggested on their latest podcast episode that upcoming youtubers reach out to other youtubers!
@@peacereaper5987 I concur.
Please watch our fan film CYBERPUNK 2077 Phoenix Edition. I was part of that team and it was a lot of fun to make that film great! and those VFX artists done a great job too!!
Yeeeeees! ♥️
That building explosion in the Street Fighter movie didn't even crack a single pane-of-glass
Really looking forward to seeing the indie VFX stuff! Thanks for the great videos!
I once watched this super weird movie called King Arthur and some of the CGI in that movie was so weird and looked like a video game, I feel like you guys should really check it out
When Arthur goes beast mode right? The cgi for the bad guy was pretty good.
It was a good movie but yea the cgi felt like a game cinematic
Alright I’ll look at it,
King Arthur Legend of the Sword. Fire visuals
I actually really enjoyed the VFX in that movie
KUNG FURY
YES, And having David Sandberg react with them, maybe in a PC with wheels or whatever.
What are you doing here?
Tfis that

oh yes
Duck guy! Got any grapes?
PLZ KUNG FURY
love your vids and i learn so much from you guys, you should totally do more satisfying challenges or better yet a CGI stunt challenge!
11:13 This is why I really enjoy and appreciate this channel. You’ll have fun pointing out what’s “off” with the visuals, but then you’ll take time with constructive criticism to acknowledge the good parts.
A german Star Wars Fan Movie on YT Is Darth Maul: Apprentice
Yes you should totally check it out!! It was the result of a bachelor degree project by Shawn Bu at my university :)
totally agree they should check it out, it's so awesome :D
Came here to suggest the same thing. Some ok and some pretty dang good VFX in that one. The story behind it is also kinda interesting.
From the same guy from Darth Maul.
Cyberpunk 2077 - Pheonix Program
You have to watch this one. It's totally awesome. ^^
Oh yes please!! one of my fav films ever! :) :) :)
It's been mentioned before but I'll add to it! The Cyberpunk 2077 short film: Phoenix Program. ua-cam.com/video/JJdtkKNQKJ4/v-deo.html
I am still beyond proud of this work!
Give Sci Fi | Slice of Life
a shot, I recommend it :)
Gfis that
ua-cam.com/video/P85afV3OgnA/v-deo.html
oh yes
I cant be the only person in the world who really wants a vfx episode on Doctor Who? It's so much content and it's really nice seeing how their practical and cg have evolved throughout its lifetime. Please cover it!
You guys should do a series of Special Effects Artist react. From practical makeup fx, gags, blood rigs, othering rigging...there’s really so much to go off of. The makeup effects world is really cool and goes hand in hand with VFX.
“Vader Episode 1: shards of the past” by Star Wars theory, the effects are really impressive
For your consideration! 😅 it’d be awesome to have our work dissected by you guys!
It has been a quick minute since I’ve heard of you’re channel! That would be interesting
@@chemist6851 haha yeah, we’ve been doing a lot more collaborations and commissions with other artists over the last few years. Here’s one of our favorites from last year. ua-cam.com/video/6cxF-am_eoM/v-deo.html
@@IsmaHAWK good stuff yall!!
*A legend enters the chat*
Portal: No Escape, or Hoshino (a Star Wars short)
Recommendation.
The Channel - Dead Sound.
Video(s) - Immortal Machine, Friendly Shadow, or really any of his other ones videos.
His Autodale series and Merry Madness series are both fantastic. It is animation rather than VFX, but I think they are works that deserve praise and recognition
Andrew Kramer is the best.
I interested by looking to his amazing tutorials then I could learn after effect by his awesome tutorials.
Many Thanks Andrew.
“Legend of The Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole” directed by Zack Snyder, 2010, day 37.
I got to work with the guys who worked on the CGI, Animal Logic, and it was an incredible experience. Building feathers and physics from the ground up
Yes! Yes! Hopefully you succeed with this request
Amazing film 🎥
This movie is so pretty
Literally came back from watching it, just as good as I remember
The shot of the Death Star just fading out was so funny 😂
Why don’t you have a series where you don’t fix bad VFX but destroy good VFX? 🤣🤣🤣
That'd be cool
YESS! I was thinking the same thing! Although part of why it was funny was because of the commentary in the moment lol.
I'm going to +1 the hell out of this idea!
Any of the major fight scenes from 2004's Devilman movie, that is the most insane thing I've seen.
Niko talking about the tombstone and I'm like "oh yeah totally" like i have any clue at all or even any reason to know this stuff
That’s what my reaction is when you talk about flash light lumins and all that
What are you doing here haha get back to the gym
Wow your into vfx?... Glad im subbed to both yall
Often you don't need to know WHY to see that something is... off. :)
Icy Mike what are you doing here
"Concrete doesn't bounce" but the reason it looks so unrealistic is also because of the plumes of dust. Even the dust is heavy, and wouldn't hang in the air like that, especially outside in a "graveyard".
Very educational. Thanks guys.
Phoenix Program! It's a short fan made film to cyberpunk 2077 and it's awesome!
08:25 When a professional knows how to complement other people's work. That's why Corridor Crew is our favorite channel! 🏆
I love this channel, I've learned so much about VFX and CGI in general just from watching you guys just talk about it so thank you, and so as you asked here's a couple of things I would love you to "react" to (VFX and CGI wise) : H20 just add water and Shadowhunters and The Gifted end scene "thank you again" prayers and love to all to get through this ruff time 👍🙏😊
That explosion scene... The window blinds didn't even move!
The Cyberpunk 2077 short film: "Phoenix Program" or "Darth Maul: Apprentice"
Agreed.
Incredibly Awesome
I +1 this, good take
Yes please!
Ffis that
ua-cam.com/video/P85afV3OgnA/v-deo.html
oh yes
Please react to "DARTH MAUL: Apprentice" and/or "Cyberpunk 2077: Phoenix Programm" from T7pro. Awesome short films you should definitely check out!
Marry Poppins Returns. The scene where Lin-Manuel Miranda is singing and climbing the stairs of books while the cartoon penguins stack the books
The Old Guard had some cool healing animations and broken bone healing animation, especially and the end with Nial’s hand
You should really do
Cyberpunk 2077 - Pheonix Program!
Darth Maul: Apprentice would be amazing for you to break down. They did such a good job on the effects.
They made a new one last year „Cyberpunk 2077 - Phoenix Program“ and it would be awesome if they react to this one
Lmfao that wire pull from Street Fighter was as good as, if not better, than 95% of the wire work you'd get from from a modern X-Men movie 🤣🤣
“Rubber Johnny” a weird indie that used to freak me out when I was younger. Found it originally on ebaum’s world if that gives you a clue as to its date.
I don't have any solid info on how it was made, but it's not quite "a weird indie" with no context - it's an experimental music video for "Afx 237 v.7" by electronic musician Aphex Twin, shot by his regular collaborator Chris Cunningham. Cunningham was inspired by the way ravers, flailing amid a mass of other bodies under intense strobing lights, almost seemed to "morph" as they danced. According to what limited information I can find about the production, there's no major use of CGI - Cunningham plays Johnny with the help of prosthetics and film makeup and most of the unnatural movement is just footage being sped up. Maybe some of the stretchy warping bits that fill the screen are CG, but that's probably more morphing the captured images than actually doing CGI. There also appears to be some long exposure tricks to make light trail across the screen.
Once again: The Maze Runner movies (directed by a CGI guy like you), and any Neil Breen movie
Yeahhhh the grievers actually looked really good
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
A ton of the VFX shots hold up really well
Yes.
3:55 Ha! Thought no one would notice? But I did! It's Clint saying "get down!".
I recently re-watched Thor: Ragnarok and thought that the green screen scene of Thor, Loki and Odin on the cliffs in Norway looked so rough, I was wondering why that would be? Is it lighting or something else, from an outsiders perspective it would seem like a simple enough job. A "reacts" video would be great on that film because some of the effects are SO high quality and then some of the more basic stuff is really rough...
I heard the origin scene on the cliffs/ confrontation with Hela originally was shot to be in the city.
But of a last minute change
Do the Russian Cyberpunk Farm, please :)
You have to email suggestions
@@ntme-op2jj then why do they always tell people to put suggestions in the comments?
@@sam8404 for algorithm reasons. You gotta interact with the videos so they show up for others.
@@SauceyCos but they often show pictures of the requests in the comments, they never show emails. I don't think they're just trying to trick people into helping promote their videos, though I'm sure it does help promote them as a side effect.
@@sam8404 they do that to help sell the trick bro. They also do look through the comments sometimes
like 10 years ago i worked as a repair technician and we used to check the video converters with that scene of the red car being chased by the police and crashing and never knew the name of the movie... until now XD
Dante’s Peak. Classic 90’s disaster movie. They did amazing 1/4th scale miniatures combined with digital fx. There’s also a really cool scene where a flaming car drives on solid lava.
Anyone notice that the protagonist was standing in the back-blast of Arnold's RPG? She just got completely fried.
I was thinking the same thing lol
There’s a cool fan film called: “Darth Maul: Apprentice”, with some interesting vfx shots
Darth Maul: Apprentice
As recommendation for a Fan Film react
LOCAL KUNG FU is an Indian indie film shot on phone where the makers are doing the stunts and fight scenes because they're martial artists as well and it's really well done
“A Heist with Markiplier” has a lot of VFX, would love to see your reaction on some of those videos!
Yes
It whould be cool to see a animators react to the "Beowulf" grendel fight scene. The 2007 animated film. (Especially the fight scene between Beowulf and grendel)
I feel like that Beowulf is underrated. I'd say it's easily the best of Zemeckis's "mocap trilogy," and I especially liked how they found a way to tie the second and third parts of the story together. And being a fantasy adventure, I didn't find the uncanny valley problem to be as distracting as in Polar Express or his Christmas Carol.
It's maybe a 3 minute long video, called 405. A plane landing on a highway and a man trying to speed up to get out of the way of the plane. I don't even know how old the original video is, but it makes me laugh every time.
Highly recommend you review the videos of Worthikids, especially “Dried Up Old Bones” as it’s a picture perfect CGI version of claymation
Another suggestion: “Portal: No Escape” by Dan Trachtenberg.
A classic
Was just thinking about that. The portal series is my alltime favourite and it would be nice to see a vfx artist's opinion. And how theybcontrast from a superfan's opinion.
you guys should react to Star Wars Theory's Vader fan film, has some sick CGI
DEW IT
And darth maul apprentice! They also have a behinf the scenes where they talk about the vfx the did!
Noice.
ua-cam.com/video/1BBBflrn1to/v-deo.html
There’s a ton of old school VFX, in Godzilla Raids Again. Cool VFX shot at 43:41. It’s on HBO Max
Netflix-love, death and robots. Literally anything on that series of animated shorts
For your consideration, we have some for you guys to react
UPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They should react to WandaVision
JALEX ROSA'S MADARAAA!!!
There is a Darth Maul Fan Film that’s really great " DARTH MAUL: Apprentice - A Star Wars Fan-Film " they have great fights and choreography. Would be interesting what you say to the CGI ^^
yes !!!!
The Train crash from Snowpiercer at the end of the film would be a nice long CGI shot with lots going on to analyze!
I wonder if Clint knows he’s wearing a Monster University hat or if he just bought it because it looks cool
If you watch the show, the odds are highly unlikely he has seen it LMAO
I believe it was touched on before but the all the “Astartes” videos look absolutely amazing and I’d love to hear what you guys have to say about it
all the episodes were already done :D
@Mot Goaiu ???
Here’s an awesome Marvel fan film, Sleepwalker. It has vfx throughout but the big stuff starts around 19:00. Love the show! Keep up the great work!
Marvel Sleepwalker Episode 01: Somnambulist
I’d love to see you guys take a look at some of the stuff from VGHS especially the death effects in the FPS game
I could recommend The Cyberpunk 2077 short film: "Phoenix Program" or Darth Maul: "Apprentice"
If I ever got a reference in an animator's react I could die happy
Old
Yoooo hell yeah
I love Andrew's little "ok, ok..~" after seeing those scenes XD
If you want to check out the effects on "fan films", check out the Bat in the Sun. Most of their stuff is for fighting choreography. (Amy Johnson played Harley Quinn for in a match between Joker & Harley vs. Deadpool and Domino).
That clip of Wren passing out will never get old.
There is a fantastic Star Wars fan film project called “The Last Stand”, by Sekani Motion Design. It’s similar to Astartes, but shorter and themed around First Order Stormtroopers. It’s definitely worth checking out.
Duuuuude I've been commenting about that short film on so many past videos and I even made a comment on it on this video I really hope they choose it
How about an episode devoted to miniature effects? The submarines in The Hunt For Red October, the house in Zathura, the train in Back to the Future 3, the boats in the 1950s Ben Hur....
I don't watch a lot of commercials these days, but you should do VFX Artists Reacts to commercials, especially Super Bowl commercials!
The Cyberpunk 2077 short film „Phoenix Program“, or the Star Wars short film „Darth Maul Apprentice“!
Why do these 15 minute videos go by SO FAST?!
time flies when you're having fun
~ Albert Einstein
5:40 street fighter energy ball impact scene feels like what you’d see in the old power rangers tv show.
Terminator Salvation had some pretty good effects certainly for 2009. Might be fun to cover in a future episode
DARTH MAUL: Apprentice - A Star Wars Fan-Film would be awesome!
I remember seeing 'Along Came a Spider' in theaters. Twenty years later, I still feel the cringe I felt seeing that VFX shot. Otherwise, good movie.
Could you guys react to the effects in Real Steel? Every time I watch that movie I’m blown away by how it looks!
