Here is an extensive video showing the ins and outs of my 1988 Ford Econoline E150 van that was factory ordered with a 5 speed manual transmission, 6 cylinder 4.9l 300ci, fuel injected, short wheelbase van. I'll be listing this for sale on Craigslist in Phoenix Az, Mohave County Az, Inland Empire Ca, and Las Vegas. the price will be in the ad. I made this video in hopes that it will answer any questions you may have on the van before you purchase it. I have a clean clear Arizona title in my name and it is signed and notarized ready for a new owner. I will assist with loading this van if the buyer decides to have it freighted but the van will not leave my possession until it is 100% paid in full. I do not have a bank account and I do not deal with electronic funds of any type so you must pay CASH ONLY. I'm sorry if that's a deal breaker but this is the only way I will accept payment. I would love to buy this van....but I live in canada....and with the exchange rate and all of the hoops that you sometimes have to go through....well enough said..... just a outstanding van and that engine is basically unstoppable I have had that combo in many of my other trucks and with that 5/ speed it gets the job done super easy.....lots of torque and one of my favorite ford engines.....and in closing I thought that you did one hell of a honest job with showing all the good all the not so good and everything in-between......all in all a true time capsule for the most part........man I want this van!!!!!!!...... thanks again for the outstanding video.......
That's the same situation for me Steven, I'm living in Quebec and if I want to buy a vehicle from US, all the recalls must be done. And somebody told me that I'll need a federal AND provincial inspection. There's a guy here around QUebec city and he bought a "Denimachine" from US last fall. I'll ask him.

What a beauty! I had an '85 e350 diesel standard body in blue. It was rusty, noisy and hot as all heck because it was north east bought truck without AC. Those were the days.
I have an 88 E150 standard length with the 300 Inline 6, 5 speed manual w factory A/C, hinged side doors, and a factory full length headliner, full length rubber floor cover, high back front bucket seats, and front door panels. Otherwise a bare bones cargo van. The transmission is the same Mazda 5 speed used in the F150. These are quite rare but I have seen a few. My first one was an 87 In-line 6 with the 4 speed OD manual.

Take the wood out .n use flex insulation with cloth n snapons take weight off n looks better....
I wish I had my driver's license because I'd buy this van and it would be my daily driver down here in Florida. Inline 6 with a 5 speed on a Ford talk about a reliable setup.

I bought a 1999 e 150. It is a great van. It has a 6 cylinder motor. It is good on gas. I built it out cheaply too.

People just don't realize the immense variety of the 3rd Generation Ford van (75 to 91), from "old school" to modern things like anti-lock brakes and fuel injection. They have a very few weak points, but otherwise tend to put up with abuse and run forever. Any manual trans is uncommon but most were three-speeds "on the tree". There was a 4WD version in some years. Much of the running gear interchanges with a pIck-up as do some interior parts. One of the best vehicles ever built.
I always love when people take the panel Vans and they put windows in them because I'm my 2004 Econoline I have no windows on the side and we have Windows in the rear

Had one of these but an E100....Automatic...That 300-6 was bullet proof. Went to the salvage yard and got some Swivel Seat Captains chairs..

I got to start not once but twice & drive a white 1989 Ford Econoline 250 with a 300ci 6 cyl 3 speed auto still had the metal divider behind the seat's due to being a cargo hauler maybe it was a coca cola truck. Ran great started the 2 times i started it. My friend sold it to his friend for $5000.

Those third generation Ford fullsize vans were produced from 1975 through 1991.
I owned the exact configured one, 300 cu in inline 6 cylinder with the 5 speed manual transmission. And no windows at all, it was factory insulated and paneled, I bought it new in Timmins Canada, and it was a bitch to back-up as I could only rely on the mirrors, a back-up camera would have been very useful lol.
I bought a 1981 V8 (302) many years ago with a manual 4 sp transmission. For the back-up, it was not easy. I'd like to know if you can tell me the "make" and "model" of the 5 speeds factory transmission. I'm on a project to restore another van (88 ou 90) with a 351W.
Please let me know. (Sorry for my english, I'm living in Quebec and I usually speak french)

@@kendallsmith1458 Sorry, my question wasn't clear enough. I'm talking about the transmission. Wich company builted it and if you have the model. I'm looking for a 1990 with a 351 W but I want to "fit" a 5 sp manual transmission on it.
I had that same issue, I had one of these 1 ton vans with the 7.3idi and the E40D. I backed that damn thing into about 4-5 barriers before I got fucking pissed off and got a rear door from a junkyard van that had glass.

This older folks really get sticken with high prices in repairs, I bought my RV of an older man and I've seen some ridiculous recipes on repairs, When I first bought it, I did lost od maintenance that was supposed to have been done, but never done since new.

Very thorough overview. First, I'm OK with your payment terms if I were to move ahead. Just a couple of questions/clarifications.
1. You mention the monies spent on the A/C system early in the video, and then reference the A/C again when scanning the box of receipts. You state the system was never converted over, and you did NOT make it clear if there is, or is not, operating A/C. So, what was done for $2,500 ? I ask because I have a 1995 Jeep Wrangler, the A/C system cost me $1,000 15 years ago, and I've never had to do anything to it, and I have cold A/C. In summary, while you state you are going to sell the unit with the A/Cas is - just what needs to be done to the A/C? That should be easy to answer.
2. Is there any type/form of insulation on the body panels or roof?
3. Are those the original springs, and front end parts (control arms, etc.)? You showed the newer shocks.
Last, I also live in Arizona but in a county where emissions is required. That is Maricopa, Pima, and some of Pinal.
Hey there. There is foam insulation between the body panels and the interior paneling. The ac does not blow cold and I haven't addressed it at all. Could be an easy fix or could be a nightmare expensive repair. I honestly don't know. I probably should grab a few pounds of refrigerant and see what happens but I haven't had a chance yet.
Yes those are the original springs on the van. I bought a brand new set of front springs from o'reilly and installed them and it actually lowered the van about half an inch and it rode worse so I reinstalled the original coils.

When I was 21 my dumbass of a father which I do love got a van like this from a older couple, it was brown and the doors where rusty on the bottom, it had shaggy carpet and 4 captins chairs which where clean, even had that small bubble circle window in the back. He turnt it to a scrap metal hauling van smh......... I wasn't a fan of the fan but I knew it was rare and stupid of him to be messing up this van to haul shit around for 40-80 bucks worth of scrap metal.

I have had 3 of these vans over the years... they are good vans but nothing special and they are old... not sure why you think it's worth any where near 15 Kor even worth doing a long video that doesn't really say anything ythat you couldn't i a facebook ad.
