Have had my Green Filter for about 3 years now and am still a huge fan. I'm impressed with its performance, and it's amusing to see the reaction on the Mercedes tech's faces when they saw it, because turns out they were fans too!

Do you always put the cleaning stuff and the oil from the clean side up to the dirt side down ?? And do you let the oil sucked-in by gravity for a couple minute or you oiled it and straight back to the air box ??

Hello, I have seen some people state that oil based filters can damage MAF sensors. What's you take on this. Ps I have a green filter in my Jag.

Glen Morgan It doesnt damage the sensor persay, the mas airflow sensor when covered over with this oil turns your check engine light on. Remove the sensor, clean it, reinstall it, clear the code your done.

@stylus850 Exactly k & n also use a different type of cotton and has a smaller filtration area. The funny thing about people saying oiled filters (actually over oiled) is maf spray. Is the sole customer people with oiled filters, no dry, factory paper, etc all will at some point become fouled to an extent. Now whether a cleaning is beneficial or required to clear an engine code varies but still. There are a few facts most tend to not mention or ignore when saying not to use. Mainly lack of following proper cleaning and oiling procedures. So the filter design isn't necessarily bad itself rather not cleaning and oiling so it can't catch particulate. Then you have some who far over oil, as the ship pre oiled there are typically no issues. I'm sure quality control isn't 100% however the same applies to oem as well. Bad glue, torn or misaligned pleats etc..

Green by far. K&n did and probably still does use a mold where the filter does not extend all the way to the gasket. So you lose surface area on them even vs a stock or green filter. Green also uses a different type of cotton in their filters which does not let tiny piece off like k&n. It's not exclusively used by green though better cotton ones use what green does. It's longer lasting and isn't likely to let small bits off which could foul a maf or get into the engine.

@@cardinaloflannagancr8929 I would agree with you. I owned K&N for many years, but got a Green Filter 2 years ago and have been happy with it. Constructed very well IMO. The only thing is putting too much oil on it. I probably go a little more conservative when cleaning/oiling, but I think it works better this way.

We do use a different type of cotton, and we're constantly in The Lab stress testing and coming up with ways to improve our product.
