Glassmat looks great, but 8 years ago i bought a large piece of glass that coincidently fit my desk, bought it for 5 dollar, yeah, and made a 12inch paper grid with measurenrs underneath it, still LOVE IT, bought the large brush too, love them!!

Big fan here of tool testing. Next best thing to an in person demo. Both cards are grand, but... the last one with the vibrant green ink is my fav. Love the way you blend, blend, blend!
I have this glass mat and its awesome. Here is a tip, I have the waffle flower stencil mat. I put on top of glass mat and the magnets hold on top of the stencil mat. So no tape needed. Card stock stays in place and I put one or two magnets on the corners of the stencil. Works great
I love the stencils that build a design I’ve not seen those before but they’re pretty neat. OMG I love that bird and flower stencil and colouring. I’m totally in love with lunar paste. I must buy me some
I live the glas mat. I will be getting one soon. think a sticky mat that attaches to a magnetic back placed on the glass mat might make it more hands-free. I thought about trying Altenew Blending brush so it was nice to see them in action. Love all the cards and backgrounds but the last was my favorite. 😊
I loved seeing your lunar pastes used so softly. They really made a huge impact, however!! I only have a few, but I see I need your red, bee sting? And just what did you do to the purple flowers, that you felt you had to apologize to Ranger for? Another watcher mentioned releasing your inks in cubes. I personally think that is a great idea. I love the result I see with your inks and think having them available in a smaller format ( bigger than just a cube, maybe half sized? ) would be a great option. There are a lot of inks on the market and only having access via a large, expensive pad often takes it out of my reach. And so you know, i have heard good things about your inks. Keep up with the great ideas and reviewing all the new things out in the crafting world.
Thanks so much Cheryl! I apologized to Ranger because I showed the new purple color that is releasing this coming Friday. :) Also, we will definitely look into making mini inks. It just really depends on the popularity of the inks if we are able to do it.

I've used the Tim Holtz black glass mat since it was released and love it, but I will admit I've always wished it was white. These look great, but the cost point is a deal breaker for me, especially since I already have the black mat and it works fine. I've bought a LOT of Altenew products and have wondered about investing in the larger blending brushes. You did a great demo - I think I might add them gradually to my inking supplies.
More stunning g use of your fabulous Lunar pastes!! Looking very forward to the reveal on the 17th!! I have a smaller glass mat from this company and love it!! It’s (along with the magnets) are on red of the most used tools in my craft room now. Working on the white surface is so helpful for judging colors! It arrived quickly and was very well packaged! 🧑🏼🎨

Well done for saying you want to reduce waste and this industry must be a big polluter. Ranger is a company renowned for its innovation. Could you persuade them to make stamp packaging in say recycled paper with a cellophane window to see the contents? This could reduce waste from the manufacturer by about 80% I think. I’d buy stamp sets packaged in this way. Thank for sharing. Love those brushes!

Your demonstrations are always clear and concise -- I really love the embossing folder and stencil combo -- and I would never have thought of using the Lunar Paste in combination with the inks, but it REALLY adds to the card. Love the card with the embossing folder and matching stencil. It's really lovely. I know the magnetic glass boards are all the rage now but I have both of Tim's (regular and travel) and they work wonderfully for me. There's a white section on the side so I doubt I'll be reinvesting in a new one. Besides I waited to find both at exceptional prices. I find I'm too heavy handed for magnets to do the job for me alone anyway so I guess I'm not really missing out. Thanks for providing your opinion on the new tools.
Hi, Simon. Thanks again for another in-depth review of products. You did a lot of ink blending with Altenew's big brushes in this video. As far as hand fatigue, how do they compare to the blender brushes with handles? My favorite card was the last one as I just love Lunar Paste and I'd say you used to to great effect with the embossing folder/stencil combo. Looking forward to adding more LP colors to my collection!

The glass board mat is my most favorite tool. So easy to clean too (Hand sanitizer). I have different brand of the ergonomic blending blushes & smaller, they are great for people with hand issues. Love the Lunar Paste on black card stock you did & the clean up one.
I have a glass board glass mat and I LOVE it! This combo of stencil and embossing folder is phenomenal. Thanks for the tips to use the blending brush. I have 1 in the box but I may need more now that I know how to use it. You are VERY talented!

I love embossing & using paste & items like Cosmic Shimmer- i really liked that your paste is already colored to match your ink. Is the paste Pearlized too? I love pearl effects. Simon, I've been using the Make Art Stay-tion (a tool that you reviewed a few years ago) for stenciling and other purposes. Now I'm wondering if I should have waited to get a magnetic glass mat instead. I don't work with alcohol inks, so cleaning off the Stay-tion hasn't been difficult, but since the gridlines aren't etched I'm always a bit worried that they might rub off in places. On the other hand, since the Stay-tion meets my needs, I don't know if it would be worth having a glass mat, too. What do you think? Is the glass mat going to replace the Stay-tion in your craft room, or do you see yourself using both? (P.S. Your bird card is spectacular!!!)
Love 💕 the glass mat - I got one about a year ago, and love supporting a small, family-owned company with great CS - they made the lines darker for me on an earlier version. I wish Altenew would make a similar blending brush that was dome-shaped on the top - sort of like a Stampin’ Bug shape (what Cathy Z uses with her Misti). The Altenew one isn’t comfortable for me, regardless of grip, maybe due to a bit of arthritis from an old minor injury. Love Altenew’s embossing folder/stencil sets!
I have the Cutterpillar glass mat which has a light source in it as well, and I LOVE it!!! When Tim Holtz came out with his black glass mat, I told him that if he built a light source into it, that I would purchase it. Well…he didn’t, so later I found the Cutterpillar and purchased it. It’s wonderful because I have a LOT of the older brass stencils that you need a light source for and the Cutterpillar is wonderful for them. Also it’s a white mat, not black, which I like much better. 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸

Hi Simon, a little late watching the video, but greatly appreciate your reviews on the items! Looking forward to getting a glass mat! Would you, or one of your viewers know how the blending brushes are for comfort for people with hand issues? Such as arthritis or hand weakness. I have recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and my hands hurt and cramp up when I use the SBC domed blending brushes.
Bought my Glass Board craft mat last year and have LOVED it ever since. So easy to clean up, love the magnetic backing and enjoy having a good work surface. The cards you make are amazing. I love learning new ideas from you. You explain it so well and make it look so easy to do. Will you be coming out with cube ink pads in the future?

I just love your projects ❤ How did the glass mat handle the heat from the heat gun? In winter, my craft room is cold, and I'd hate for a little heat from my heat gun or hot glue gun to make it shatter. I love all those blender brushes. Beautiful card❤

I love the cards hard to choose a favorite but I think the bird and how easy it was to showcase those beautiful colors. I have a glass Matt in smaller version but watching you work with the larger one seems to give you plenary if room to work with different techniques and sizes without risk of contaminating colors. The cards are gorgeous! I do like the magnets for certain mixed. media or adding tiny embellishments for finishing touch. I love the detail coverage you got with the large and medium size blending brushes. I’ve had 4 mini strikes and struggle with having steady hands at times and holding on to my tools these brushes will make it much easier to hold. I always learn something from you Simon and think you are one of the most talented designers in the industry and your products are amazing ❤❤❤

I just dont get these expensive glass mats....... of course many YT cardmakers get these free, I just bought glass for top of desk and wipe it off just the same.
I haven't finished watching this but have you thought about making slimline foam. I would love it. I also like the idea of small ink cubes. I use your re-inkers and buy the empty ones and make my own.

I don’t have crafting space for the normal size inks, so yes I would love the inch x inch inks to add to my other ink minis
I agree, great way for me to try out inks with my extremely limited space.
I make my own mini cube inks. I buy the blank pads from Stampin Up and the ink refills and make my own ink cubes.

I have the Cutterpillar glass mat which has a light source in it as well, and I LOVE it!!! When Tim Holtz came out with his black glass mat, I told him that if he built a light source into it, that I would purchase it. Well…he didn’t, so later I found the Cutterpillar and purchased it. It’s wonderful because I have a LOT of the older brass stencils that you need a light source for and the Cutterpillar is wonderful for them. Also it’s a white mat, not black, which I like much better. 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸

Would you, or one of your viewers know how the blending brushes are for comfort for people with hand issues? Such as arthritis or hand weakness. I have recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and my hands hurt and cramp up when I use the SBC domed blending brushes.
Bought my Glass Board craft mat last year and have LOVED it ever since. So easy to clean up, love the magnetic backing and enjoy having a good work surface. The cards you make are amazing. I love learning new ideas from you. You explain it so well and make it look so easy to do. Will you be coming out with cube ink pads in the future?
Really like the embossing folder/stencil set from Altenew & their blending brushes. AND thinking I am really loving that Lunar Paste and how much more versatile it is than I realized! Thank you, Simon!
Good evening from Little York, NY!!! I love my glass matt but having one with magnetic capabilities would be awesome. I also like those Altenew blending brushes and the new embossing/stencil combo. I'll have to get some soon!!! The cards were beautiful!!

How did the glass mat handle the heat from the heat gun? In winter, my craft room is cold, and I'd hate for a little heat from my heat gun or hot glue gun to make it shatter. I love all those blender brushes. Beautiful card❤

I love the cards hard to choose a favorite but I think the bird and how easy it was to showcase those beautiful colors. I have a glass Matt in smaller version but watching you work with the larger one seems to give you plenary if room to work with different techniques and sizes without risk of contaminating colors. The cards are gorgeous! I do like the magnets for certain mixed.
media or adding tiny embellishments for finishing touch. I love the detail coverage you got with the large and medium size blending brushes. I’ve had 4 mini strikes and struggle with having steady hands at times and holding on to my tools these brushes will make it much easier to hold. I always learn something from you Simon and think you are one of the most talented designers in the industry and your products are amazing ❤❤❤

I just dont get these expensive glass mats....... of course many YT cardmakers get these free, I just bought glass for top of desk and wipe it off just the same.
I haven't finished watching this but have you thought about making slimline foam. I would love it. I also like the idea of small ink cubes. I use your re-inkers and buy the empty ones and make my own.
