- Every wonder about the Akrapovic replica exhausts? I just installed my Akro clone. It looks like the real Akrapovic system but this is a complete replica exhaust for ONLY $200. Akrapovic exhaust installation Z900 and sounds clips. I took the bike for a ride after the install and it not only looks amazing, sounds amazing! but is a very noticeable increase in power too.
The exact Items I have don't appear to be listed on EBay at this time, but the link below is the same headers, with a carbon fiber Akro Clone pipe, so this setup is actually better and lighter than what I have.

After having this system on the bike for a couple weeks, I can definitely say this clone system is worth every cent and then some. Its so good its staying on permanently!

DirtGearTv same here, got it sandblasted and cera coat black .. got myself a powercommander V and quickshifter at the same time.. 2017 Z 900.. 42000 km and still going strong. What a great bike.

@@ampcbruins If your factory exhaust has a catalytic converter and an exhaust valve, then yes, you should get it tuned.
@@ampcbruins you can also take out ecu restrictions, correct the speedo if you need to, and lots of other things with a tune and they're usually only around 200, so it's well worth it. Check out this website if you like if you are in the U.S. They do good work, google "moore mafia ecu flash"
sometimes you luck out, you bought an OEM parts maker's product that are basically 1:1product without the packaging. It is just a collection of SS pipes and the welding looks good so enjoy it!
Hey man, i bought the same pipes in Aliexpress, and a Yoshimura R77 slip-on, and installed them on a z900 2020, it sounds great and they worth every dollar, I saved $1000 . In my opinion I think that Akra, Austing, SC Project, etc are overpriced, at least for the pipes you'll get the same performance and you'll save more than the half of price.

Z900 2017 - Full (Authentic) Akrapovic system with power commander, after dyno with K&N gave me 160HP. Sounds amazing, rides amazing.

No way. I have a 2019 full akro flashed and tuned. 127 to the rear wheel. The z900 cannot make a 160hp

hi. 304 s/s is good quality. welds look clean and uniform. You can keep it clean. It looks a good option. At the end of the day all a exhaust is pipe,bends and welds
And lots of engineering and R&D from the legit companies that the Chinese rip off
I have a 2023 Z900. I put on a cheap full exhaust. I am waiting for my ECU to get back from Moore Mafia. Cannot wait to hear how it sounds and how much more power I will have plus all the other bad factory settings will be gone.

Given the sound, looks and apparent quality, can we agree that Akra is overpriced?

What about performance? I went for Akra because of the performance, quality and then looks. Their increased hp and torque is simply amazing. The headers also look much different than my stock headers. Simply amazing piece of art. Yes it is expensive but it’s worth the money
Lets not forget it was Akrapovic who designed it. it costs nothing to steal someone elses work.
A real versus would have been you mounting both systems and tell us your impressions. Having one without the other is not what the title brought me here for. Anyway keep it up was a good video though.

Honestly I will pay for the legit Akropovic or just buy a cheaper non clone system. A lot of development goes into this stuff and I don't feel good sending money to China for them to rip off someone else's work.

U still liking the sound? I have a z900 2020 model with a full akra system. Sounds a bit diffrent than yours but camera sound is always off
I’m loving the new sound, even better without the db killer in which probably why it sounds different from yours. I think the z900s have one of the best sounding flatplane inline 4s on the market.

I think it’s a good deal but I doubt it’s street legal. You will save money and weight but it will damage the engine unless you do a tune up for that specific full exhaust system.
Why damage the engine?
@@richardrodriguez7274 - It CAN damage an engine over time if you run it lean. Running lean increases cylinder temps and is hard on exhaust valves. Since nobody, including the engineers who designed the aftermarket exhaust, has done extensive testing, you are just rolling the dice. Tuning it so that it runs on the rich side is better in every way for an engine and the only downside is cost and fuel efficiency, and you, of course, are increasing emissions.

Anyway, I have the 2020 z900 in black with Red decals, ( was torn between that and same as yours as in Australia that’s all they sell )
I put the Yoshi Alpha on her but yet to do headers.
You have got me thinking about trying the cheap jobs but I will compare their price to the Black widow headers, great fly by vid on here for sound test, love those but waiting for them to get back to me with price. Will let you know where I go but thanks, loving your vids.
I live in SE Asia where conterfeits are everywhere. My experience is that the China knock offs don't last as long and finish isn't as good. I checked into Black Widow UK and their prices including shipment are great and not much more than non branded.

I had one and the muffler isn't as well made and the first few 100 miles it smells a bit funky glues etc used melt but for the money I couldn't grumble it lasted ages.

Hey Bro, did your bike came with O-Rings on the headers? I installed a full system but I’m having leaks on the headers. I check on the Part diagram and shows the part number 11060( gasket Exhaust Pipe Holder) but my bike brand new came without those.
Yes they usually come with copper or aluminum seals, you can order them separately if yours are lost/damaged

Will any slip on muffler work with this? I have a yoshi slip on with stick exhaust. Could I put that in this system?
Any 51mm slip on should fit on this system, however as you can see from mine, I had to mount the hanger pretty forward on my muffler. This could be an area that may cause an issue, just an FYI
I never understood why people wants fake headers ,,, then I paid 800€ for headers, 850€ for slip on, 600€ for installation and tuning by professional … and now I understand …

You said that your EC wasn't programmed for this exhaust, 6:15 what do you mean with that? Could you please help me? I got a new 2021 z900, and I am thinking to change full system exhaust
When you change the exhaust system of the bike it is possible to remap your bikes throttle mapping etc to get more power out of the bike. Is it necessary for your bike to run allright? Most likely not, could depend on the system. However as I said it is possible to get more power out of the bike if you do remap de EC. Some brands sell remapped EC's with their exhaust systems like SC -Project so that you don' t have to bring your bike to a mechanic.

Question is how are they holding up now. My last ebay buys held up great on my CBR600.
Also your missing a clamp for the slip on ain't you?. Won't it leak the back pressure out?.
It’s holding up great so far. I got it nice and hot on the tail of the dragon and performed perfect. This style slip on doesn’t use a clamp but I do need some shorter springs to attach correctly 🤙

Quick question, I ask the seller and the package doesn't come with new gaskets and they reckon this clone system doesn't need gasket. Just put the header pipe straight in.

Correct, they do not include gaskets. You can reuse if they are undamaged. What could happen is if you reuse them and they are not creating a good seal, you will hear what sounds like a engine ticking. Its not dangerous to the engine, just annoying.

I also check with my local dealer, they reckon no need for remapping the ECU. Only if you really want to squeeze those extra 2 or 4 more hp
You should really watch the video I did on 2 wheel dyno works. For the cost there is almost no reason to no have it fueled correctly. However, if you really do not want the tune it will run, but it will run hot. ais blockoff is needed either way, good luck
The issue with most clone mufflers, is the exhaust diameter. This clone muffler you got actually seems to have a really small exhaust hole. It limits the engine from breathing properly. Does it damage it -> no. Does it limit the power potential -> big yes. You will probably loose around 10-15whp because of the small opening.
You didn't remove the silencer on the canister that is why it didn't sound loud enough. It looks like from the vid that you are not aware of it.
Palon 30 I leave my db killer in based on a post I read from a guy who’s got my bike with the same exhaust and had it brought into 2WDW for a tune, 2WDW was getting 2 hp more on a good bit of the power with the DB killer left in. Sounds nicer without it though...

I am planning to buy this system for my z900
So i need:
- ecu tune
- high flow air filter
- full system ofc

You don't need anything other than the full system, but if you skip the tune it will pop on decel and run a bit hot. Here's the full list to do it right: Full system, Tune, ais block off plates or 1/2" and 5/8" vaccum caps (to plug your ais) , o2 sensor plug/bung, set of new header gaskets, air filter is optional. It will be a new bike at this point!

Makes you wonder, are you paying @1200.00 for the engineering, or are you paying for the marketing. Still less than two hundred for a knock off is intriguing as well as desirable when it looks like this unit does. End of the day money talks. Do a follow up on the tubing discoloring and overall satisfaction. I own a 2020 z900rs and considering the kit, along with the brock tune. Cheers.

Yes, the cat removal is a cheap mod that improves performance and sound. If your doing headers anyway don’t bother doing a cat removal. Full headers will do more for sound and performance than just a CAT mod 👍
Sounds great and looks good. But what about the brand name infringement? I agree that the price of some branded exhaust systems are crazy but should we support China's piracy of their name? And let's see how the welds and the finish hold up a year or two from now.
Tom Quinn I agree about the piracy, I generally support brand name and US made goods. I don’t feel as strongly about things like exhaust parts since it’s just bent tubing at the end of the day but I hear you 👍
Unfortunately, motified exhaust is illegal in China! Your motorcycle will be impounded by the traffic police and you have to pay for RMB:500! That's ridiculous!
The only thing thats gonna matter is by time the headers will rot out. But overall it is good. It’s basically like ur buying gucci and h&m. Its still thesame shirt. Lol

It doesn’t sound that great, you should hear the real thing, I have the original Akrapovic full system with a shorty exhaust . It very good.
its not because its real ..its because you have a shorty muffler
I am ok with a knock off pipe but when the put the Akrapovic name on it, then it is forgery and if you buy it and are ok with it then you are supporting that kind of activity which I do not think is very good, that goes against my integrity. if they did not put the name on there then its not so blatent.
You call it "clone," and I call it "cheap Chinese knock-off."
