Hi Stuart! Sorry we missed this! Yes, we agree 100%. It was really cool visiting the smaller towns and each and every one of them had something different to offer :)
Thank you for the wonderful video! This is my second home! One place you should visit, because is most of the times not included in travel plans, is the historic city center of Faro. One of the most well preserved historic centers in the Algarve, really trendy with excellent restaurants nestled between an amazing architecture. Give it a try next time. Take care
@Luis - which town would you recommend staying in for a first time visitor coming for a few nights in October? Would Lagos be to empty/boring at that time?
@@alissabertola8506 Hi Alissa, Lagos is a beautiful city it only comes second to Tavira in the Algarve region (my opinion). Lagos is close to the most beautiful beaches in the Algarve and because of that it will be quiter than in the summer. In october most of the Algarve will return to it's tranquility, the exception will be Albufeira not my favorite place but bars and restaurants will be open and you will see a lot more people than in other places. Another plus of Albufeira is that you can easly reach the beautiful beaches surrounded by the "red" clifs. Carvoeiro is another place you can consider, much smaller than Albufeira but will also have some life left in ealy autum. Please bear in mind that this was before covid. Things may be different now. The good news is that from the 1st of October Portugal will remove all the covid restrictions, namely bars and discos will be allowed to reopen. Take care and enjoy the Algarve.
Excellent video and brilliantly informative. The only place I would definitely add is Ferragudo, such a beautiful little town and taking the river taxi from Portimão (just past No Solo Agua) is a great way to get there. The views from the church are breathtaking.
Great video brought back so many memories. The Algarve is our regular go to place. It’s also worth mentioning Loulé, Alta, Silves and the Sand city in Pera places to visit. And so many more places to visit.

Hi guys, great video! Do you know how much kayaks tended to be to rent? I love the idea of floating around exploring the coastline! Were rental places abundant and easy enough to find?
Hey Richie thanks for getting in touch. I guess you're referring to the kayak rental to go round Benagil cave. We went with Taruga tours (www.tarugabenagiltours.pt/) who are located right on the beach front. You need to reserve your place online first where you'll be allocated a day/time 😊 we'd highly recommend them!
Thanks for the video. It would have been helpful to see your spots on a map and distances between the places you mention. Are all the roads in Portugal toll roads?
Thank you for your comment and feedback. If there's any other information you need, let me know :) Not all roads are toll roads, but the majority of driving will be on the motorway, depending on where you're looking to visit.

Hi ! This really amazing 🙏 that coast line 🙌 Nice mix of ground footage ans droge shots 👏👏 Do you need to ask permission to take drone on plane to Portugal.? And you need also ask permission to fly over beaches ,?
Hey Kris! Thanks so much for the support! We agree that the drone shots definitely add more depth of the video! We just had to watch out for the birds as they tried to attack the drone. With regards to taking the drone on the plane, no, you don't need to ask for permission. In terms of flying over beaches, it's absolutely fine to do this (unless there are any signs anywhere saying otherwise) but we'd suggest flying over quieter areas where there aren't many people and also just to double check online before flying. Most areas where we visited were fine apart from a few areas that were near airports/ army bases etc. Hope this helps!
We stayed in Lagos whilst we were exploring The Algarve. It depends really but most were around 30-45 minutes by car. The furthest town was Tavira that took us around an hour from Lagos Town.
