I did not realise how much I missed this music with Datto's voice over it. I wouldn't mind Datto telling me how to do everyday tasks as a guide as long as I got to listen to this music in the background.
"Hello everyone and welcome back to this 2 minute song on a 5 hour loop as you fall asleep peacefully to my soothing voice as Danielle enters your household to administer the Chloroform"
Opening sparrow encounter can be done solo, by the way. If you get that chest on three characters a week you'll be able to use the spoils of conquest get some extra loot in the raid when you do get it done. You can also use these at the exotic kiosk to grab Anarchy or Always on Time. (Or Tarrabah, if you're some kind of sociopath)
In the sparrow part, if you park your sparrow just outside of a bubble and get on it while being inside the bubble (a little finicky) it will completely negate the frostbite debuff and you’ll be able to drive around forever In the cold without dying. This makes things a hell of a lot easier especially when going for the exotic sparrow. (have all six pikes and everyone on them while in the final bubble)
The only raid guides I watch. Nobody is as concise and contextualizes the steps to an encounter. Datto’s the only one who explains it the right way-this is the goal, here’s its obstacles, here’s how to get around those obstacles.
THANK YOU for having a clear explanation. My group explained to me so round about I got a headache and just ran in circles cause I didn’t understand anything after they “explained” it.
The Scanner getting locked downstairs, reminds me of New Vegas’s Sierra Madre potentially locking the Courier in the Vault because of its tight security.
Ghost: Guardian, let go of those Gold Bars. We have a raid to complete. Guardian: But there's 37 of them Ghost! *Guardian slowly waddles due to overencumberance for the rest of the raid.* Guardian: Worth it! Ghost: sigh...
hmmm, this can be cleaned up a little bit btw now. dark 123 (left to right) and light 123 (left to right) to match orientations. Also, once a side of fuses is clear those players can run to the otherside. if done fast enough, 1 phased. (i've done it) secondly, i'd just ignore button 3 all together. We ended up learning there is only 2 buttons per side so I would scan to 1, then 2, then straight to 4 and 5 (these are together). With this, if I only saw 1 light, i knew 3 was obviously it as well. This helps a ton!
After trying to day 1 it, I already know all the mechanics (and even figured out this encounter blind with the help of my raid team), but I still love listening to the explanations.
Just wanted to add that after the first DPS there is enough time for the scanner downstairs to run and see all the keypads. Then when the scanner and the operator switch the operator can just go and shoot right away. My team did this after contest mode was off and it sped things up for us.
Rotating the players helped our group in contest mode but afterwards we did damage quick enough and the third call (we did twice three fuses) the scanner was send above again for a fast swap :)
Me and my team did this for four hours but we didn't figure out how to reset the timer for the incineration in the basement. So we had to incorporate dying into our plan
Absolutely love this encounter, was super fun even during the insanity of contest mode. The pacing is perfect, mechanics are simple and everything works very intuitively. Bungie absolutely nailed this raid, and I can say that even after spending 9 hours attempting the second encounter on contest mode...
Do I know the majority of encounters to this raid? Yes. Am I going to watch these guides anyways for the music and to financially support datto? Also yes. Am I ashamed? Not at all I’m so glad you asked
My team called them out 1-10 going counterclockwise from the bottom of left, that is starting from the position of left furthest from the entrance to bottom
Before cycling operators, the person in the basement has the scanner buff, send it right away, so other people can start searching immediately meanwhile the replace operator is on their way if you timed precisely the replace operator will be on the basement when the second scanner is reading the 1st number
The way our team does it is that we use the door to the basement as our reference point for everything. Left side is dark side, right side is light side, and the numbers 1-5 for the panels are the opposite of how Datto labels it, with 1 being the closest and 5 being the furthest. As for fuses, we do left or right 1-3, with 1 being the closest to the door and 3 being the furthest.
Our team we discovered a little different way of doing it but basically the same. We basically had two on each side uostairs, one of each running Warlock: Sunbracers (So much damage) top tree with swords, everyone else the xeno. We sent one person as a scanner would go downstairs and look at all the switches and then the operator would let him out and go in. Seem to work very easily and everyone could just focus on one job. Was a very relaxed two phase.
Thanks for putting this up! I've been waiting for this before attempting with LFGs -- can't wait for the rest! PS. was streaming your guys' race attempt on Race day - was happy to share in the experience :-)
We didn't have 2 scanners, only 1. Basically after the assigned scanner finds the 2 boxes from that side, the operator will open the doors to go downstairs and the scanner can pass to the lighter room and find the other 2 boxes. After the operator shoots the four correct boxes, he sends the operator buff up, someone picks it and the scanner sends the scanner buff down and then the person downstairs tells us the order to shoot the tubes. Since all of us used xenophage we managed to destroy all 6 tubes in one phase. Since we only picked or passed the operator and scanner through augmentation terminals located in the dark room and downstairs we were able to do "resource contention" triumph
It's also worth mentioning that only 2 panels will light up yellow per side. So if you as the scanner see 3 panels that aren't yellow, then it's safe to assume that the rest on YOUR side will be yellow.
Our team had a different tactic: we'd send operator immediately downstairs as scanner vandal spawns right in the beginning of the encounter. By the time operator went downstairs we would have scouted on one of the sides and scanner would now be on the other side. Our team became so efficient that operator most of the time didn't die tk fire. But i guess tactics differ team by team
Operator can stay downstairs as long as you need so longs as he doesn't have the buff. We were having issues switching day 1, the doors were very buggy. So we had 1 guy stay downstairs the entire encounter. Also scanner should always check the area with 2 panels first. Will speed up scanning significantly.
Join our clan on PlayStation, look for the clan called Hairy Arc Souls. We have a mixture of players, some run people through Trials Of Osiris, others run Raids, and we all pretty much do everything in between
Actually for encounter one, we never swapped the person from below out. As long as you finish a damage phase and send operator back down in time for reset, they won't burn.
My team did this quick enough that the Operator was downstairs the entire time and didn't die. I think the Servitors have something to do with that, like if they are up for too long, it triggers the burning.
Thank you for breaking it down one fight at a time for each video. So basically, one guy grabs scanner, calls the location, the operator shoots it, the scanner passes it to the other room, same process as before, the scanner then sends his buff down, the operator buff goes up, the bottom scanner calls out the fuses which are then shot, the operator then lets the scanner out when the fuses close. Rinse until done. Right?
My team called them pipe and server. We called the fuses Door, Middle, and Augment. Door was closest to the door. Augment was closest to the buff machine, and middle was the fuse in between. Hope this helps
I'm pretty sure the fire on the bottom will only kill whoever's down there if the Servitors topside aren't killed quickly. On our run our team had 1 guy on the bottom floor the entire time.
Another small thing, if you want to just avoid the frost debuff; park your sparrow outside the safety bubble, go inside the bubble with your character, then get on your sparrow while still being inside the bubble. The debuff won't activate
good vid datto though might end up saying diferent stuff for canisters like where the terminal downstairs is id probs call em out as l1 l2 l3 or r1 r2 r3 l being on dark side and r being on the light side
Excellently done, thank you. Third one I watched... Honestly best of the three. Why did I watch three? I wanted more info on when the operator catches on fire.
My team found it easier to have the operator wait to go down until the scanner had found both panels on the dark side. Then instead of transferring the scanner, the operator opened the doors and let the scanner through before heading down. Our basement player stayed downstairs the whole time with no problems. Strat for the second phase was to leave the operator buff with the player who had it during damage, and have that person let the scanner through again before heading to a console and depositing. This way you only have 2 people who need to worry about callouts while the rest can focus on adds. Plus the basement player now doesn't have to worry about DPS, so they can use a sword for the marauders and not have to worry about accidentally shooting a button.
Just a heads up, you are fast enough, you can leave the Operator down there the ENTIRE TIME, and just shoot the panels fast enough to start DPS phase 2. (It's how my team did it day one) You mentioned it, but just wanted to confirm
