  • In this video we pick up a low compression B20 from our local JDM importer. This is a 97 engine from an auto crv (you can tell from the flywheel). We swap over all our turbo parts and add little upgrades for the ultimate turbo daily!

    If u didn't shave down the head where the top middle intake manifold bolt hole sits it will have a vacuum leak

    Nice bro question I did my but I don’t know wt Cain of ecu I need can you give me any tips

    • @LupienLife

      You need the ecu which matches the year of the engine and vehicle it came from in simple terms but there is exceptions. For this I used a 99-01 crv ecu. Mine was for auto trans as well. It works fine with manual trans it just throws a code but you can get around it with saudering. Or the more expensive option is a chipped ecu. Obd1 ecus modified to run whatever tune you desire. If you can't find a b20 ecu then a b18 works as well but has to be non VTEC as well or it won't rev past VTEC engagement point.

    aye bro quick question , i blew my b18 engine and im getting a b20 low comp. Would you say it is bad in any way or anything i should know?

    • @LupienLife
      @LupienLife  2 роки тому

      They're great engines and create a little more torqur naturally. The low comp makes about 20 less hp which is why most people just use them for boost set ups where low compression is more favorable. It will feel about the same as the b18 was

      @@callmearon98 😂 should be relatively the same. A lot of the plugs only fit in the right place. Intake air temp might be a different spot. Might as well open the harness a bit and try to do a nice tuck/routing make it as nice as possible

      @@royalracingtechroyalracing6128 no problem, happy to help. For the harness it depends on a couple things. What year is your engine? The distributor and alternator plugs could be different/need swapping. Is the engine imported? Japan uses different plugs for some things. The 99 harness would pair with the 99 ecu. I'm not 100% certain if the engine harness of 99 would connect to body harness of 98 directly. Might have to depin and swap a plug. Easy enough to do any but I could be wrong. Old hondas are like legos lol. You swapping to a manual transmission at the same time?

      What do you mean? In regards to using the b16a2 intake manifold? Its proven to be the best for daily driving. The best natural low end torque curve. Yes, b18 bolts on but I'd have to buy one. Only a couple bucks to adapt the b16a2 and it was the best driving experience I've had in a b series ek 🤙
