You are SO good at breaking things down in a way, that the thought of creating something like this seems so doable, when before I would've looked at the clip and thought, "well there's no way I can do that". Really appreciate your tutorials.
If you want a fairly generic but good looking commercial, yes. No hate though, this is a videographers bread and butter and nicely explained and produced.
Thank you so much!! As a small kombucha business here in the south of Spain I really appreciate this tutorial. I do everything from the production of my products to the content creation and editing. I appreciate this so much thank you bro
Haha, I literally just came home from the store with a rotating cake plate with the intention of shooting cool Schiffer inspired product videos, and this came up 😂
Now this!!!!!! Is what I call a tutorial. You left no stone unturned. From concept to final film product. Everything was explained and demonstrated very well. Very nicely done, Daniel.
Reason why I love your channel because you are so humble you don't have these huge Studios , you don't have these huge cameras you're just as humble as I am trying to make a buck each day thank you for that and thank you for your insight and openness to share with us your secrets💯👍❣
Hey Daniel, I think the best part about your videos, this one included, is that they snap me out of obsessing or overthinking the complexity of a particular shoot and get me thinking in practical terms of just getting it done. Ironically, all the greats seem to have done all that as well, be it Spielberg or George Lucas - we just don't think about it until seeing the BTS stories. Thanks man!
I love seeing how you can use both premium camera equipment and also basic household items and achieve superb results both ways. You always set the bar mighty high Schiffer!
Daniel - excellent tultorial - very detailed and well-explained. However, I didn’t understand why you added the blue background later (you said it would make sense in a minute, but I never heard why you did it).
Creating a compound clip disables the transparency of the shot which would turn the background black and non-replaceable. Making the background blue let's you use the shot in a compound clip and now you have a cleaner cut-out (you can also export it with more ease for later use)!
Lukas B Maybe I’m just missing the obvious, but why did he have to make a compound clip in the first place? He could’ve just applied a speed ramp to the keyed clip.
I feel you bro, but you also have to factor in the probably 12 years of experience he has...plus his pure talent and creativity. A master makes his craft look easy.
@@CouncilMade I do, but don't post them to UA-cam anymore; Facebook uploads garner waaayyyy more views. I'm beginning to produce commercial video content, which I upload to Vimeo.

Dude I’ve been thinking of doing this kind of shots for a while, and you dropping this video literally just made my job too easy and I’m kinda mad because I kinda wanna try to do it on my own 😂😂😂
Yeah! I cut out the explanation for this because it made the video too long. But here's the explanation for those who want to know: Once we added the zoom-in, rotation, and directional blur to the can, we want to make sure that these effects/animations are "baked in" to our clip, which is why we created a compound clip. The reason for this is because the next step was to retime the compound clip using a speed ramp, and we want to make sure that the speed of the zoom, rotation, and blur are all effected, rather than only the spinning of the can in the original shot. Now the reason we added a blue solid back in before compounding is because once we add our new beach background, we want to be able to use the "Light Wrap" function, which is only available within the keyer effect. Because we added the blue solid, we are able to key it out from the compound clip and utilize that light wrap to blend our footage with the new background. You might be wondering, "why not leave the original blue background in and just remove it from the final shot after creating the compound clip?" After adding the zoom, rotation, blur, and compounding the clip, removing the blue background becomes a bit more complicated compared to removing it from a static shot like we did at the start. It's doable, but there's just a bit more headache there for sure. Sorry if this explanation is long and convoluted. I'm sure there's other methods and ways to go about achieving this effect- but the method I show in the video is what gave me the best results in the most simple way possible! Thanks for watching :)
I just did this yesterday!!!! Inspired by your vodka soda video!!! I didn't have a slider! So used a rotated plate from IKEA for €7 !!!! Thank you man 😊
