Honda G100 2.5HP. To rebuild or repurpose?

Hi and welcome back to my channel, in this video I am debating weather to rebuild and use this for future projects or to repurpose it and use to create another lamp or if any one has any other ideas. Please feel free to leave a comment below.

Man that is a fine looking lamp -- would be v. fitting output for a gravity powered generator if you plan to go that way -- one with the right gearing so that lifting the weight up each time will keep it lit for 20-30 mins :)

At 2.5hp, unless you want to rebuild the cement mixer, its just a little too small for anything but a small kids minibike. you could maybe make it work if you come across a good self contained gearbox with a basic "high and low" gear set. Even a 5 hp engine isnt worth much vehicle wise without a good Torque converter. i messed with 5hp brigs and stratons with a little centrifugal clutch for far too long. better off going electric with old forklift motors if possible

I think you've hit the nail on the head it is a very small motor and probably quite useless. I'd rather spend the £40 on doing up that oil-filled welder.
