Where I live in Canada we grow lemons, olives, ginsing and we have huge palm trees! Some of my neighbors have bananas throwing in their non-heated green houses...we rarely ever get snow, maybe once every ten to twenty years, it falls and melts as it hits the ground but these past five years the snow stayed for weeks! Colder than ever! Salt spring island in the gulf islands on the west coast has very mild winters. The hippies still wear sandals and shorts! Our summers are cooler than most and we enjoy mild weather all year. We have had beautifully sunny november
Just wanted to say to our friends in America stay safe please and try keep warm and God bless the United States of America... Thinking and praying for all the mid west affected by this horrible polar vortex. Tony from Edinburgh / Scotland.

If youve ever had an abscess tooth, thats about the same pain level as a gunshot. This info came direct from an ex seal team member. (His unit was the one that was in 'blackhawk down' but wasnt enlisted at the time) Tho clearly, a gunshot does more damage.
Those Coast Guards look so young, what brave and intelligent young people. I wouldn’t want that job today at 46 I can’t imagine having that job in my 20s. And God bless the firefighters and policemen.
But Puerto Rico thanks all the service man and Woman that help during a huge mess that lasted almost a year and half alot people got no sleep working days with out a day off for months lol resilience to help others Amen
I live in Chicago. This week, you saw few pedestrians, traffic was light, buses ran largely empty, and mail wasn't delivered for 2 days. We call it winter (yawn).
I remember in the late 1970's! The Chesapeake Bay froze! I was in college in Northwestern Pennsylvania! We had Permafrost! The college told all students to stay in the dorms! Water lines broke! It happens! Been there!
I'm in eastern Washington and its chilling me to the bone. Average temperature is 28 degrees. Normally it is around 40 degrees but the vortex is sucking all the heat out
The lack of EL NINO has some bearing on this winter. I can't say it's not a pole shift or a difference in Obliquity but it's just possible that EL NINO has that great of affect on our weather
Can someone explain how are goverment can now make these polar vortex system's? Are goverment makes money off these systems because they own power grids all power grids
My god I feel for you people since this is hell for you. I spent one week 120 miles north of Montreal at -32 F snowshoeing from the SUV to the cabin with only a fireplace to heat. Everybody in the area are used to this. It is a question of being used to it I guess. Touch wood no block heater, good battery, good vehicule no problem starting. Please do not lock your doors if it is safe. As for door handle or lock’s freezing a good pee will unfreeze them long enough to open them. In Montreal one of our older Hospitals that was 50% mothballed was reopened by the government to help the homeless ie cold and food etc.
My teacher says they the news loves the Scary polar vortex sound because it makes it sound like a compelling story when it's just cold air ... I should have listened to him more
i live in iceland so when its about -10 degrees its not a big deal. but i can not fathom -30 degrees or however low it was. i think the coldest its been in the last 100 years in iclenad was like -20 or something like that. so yeah. thats crazy
People in north Dakota looking at each other like this ain’t normal around winter time ?? Bruh I visited my dad working there for Christmas and let me tell you -30 on Christmas Day but I’m sure they have have adapted and I hope the people in the Midwest are safe and careful my prayers are with them
I think it got below freezing for a few hours, 2 weeks ago, here in Dallas. I put on my chains and went out and bought some duct tape, jerky, and flashlight batteries. You know, just in case...
Sean Media is fueling this hysteria because of few days of cold winter. Media always needs something new to declare end of world if they want to sell their fake news. PS Don't get me wrong. I didn't vote for Trump.
I just heard that it's currently much colder in Chicago than in Antarctica due to the polar vortex. This video appeared and I thoight that they're related except, they're six years apart.
G I wish I could say I feel bad but I do live in Maine and from time to time it does get below zero I can relate though it's mighty cold in Maine hey I got it you guys get a first-time winter you guys aren't used to it y'all should come with the main experience real cold lmao
I can't emagine what hospitals with no power back up went through and taking care of patients uff the ultimate night mare it can still the peace of a love one feeling hopeless uff
Like how he saying all around America or all near the northeast where New York is all negative numbers when in Pennsylvania it’s in the 50s and 60s. Smh 🤦♂️
Mean while on Lake Michigan: The world's biggest cruise ship;Endeavor Of The Seas is making it's way through Lake Michigan in the dead of night under a starry sky. When a tall dark shadow appears out of the darkness. The officer on duty yells: "ICE BERG RIGHT AHEAD!.FULL SPEED REVERSE AND HART TO PORT!".Seconds later everyone hears a strange scraping sound as the ice berg hits the starboard side of the ship. The ship goes down in two hours and 20 minutes with close to 1500 passengers still on board. (This is a 21st century take on the Titanic)
I constantly wonder how cities took root in the coldest areas of the north but I guess British, Nordic, Russian etc settlers were more than accustomed to brutal, debilitating cold and snow. It’s kind of a farce that we have such major cities clustered in the susceptibly coldest areas of the country while there’s massive empty areas in all parts of the south
We are asking Jesus to watch over her and you during this trying and horrible time for you. I also wish the very best for you and her. Take good care..,Jim Runyon
We, humans, like to think we are in control. We like to think our technology gives us edge over nature. Few days of cold weather and everything starts falling apart.
It's negative 14 F and the dude has his building heat high enough to walk around in a t shirt inside? Guess Americans have not heard of jumpers or pull overs to keep warm.
Welcome to regular Canadian winters
Hmmm welcome

In Chicago, even if it gets to -40 degree Celsius, it is still better than getting shot by firearms.
I would rather get shot on a warm day.
@@user-yz7xb4sw4h No you don't
Tell that to the criminal elements of the city. Hopefully they'll stay inside.

Great video footage about the Vortex now most knows how the Artic Polar bears lives
In Alaska they used to harsh winter's you need to plug in the car 24 7 to keep the battery charged and oil warm and heavy-duty antifreeze of course
Watching this holding a hot water bag in 13°c .

Love our Coast Guard! So professional
Just the same way the Huber Damp creates energy to many cities down south
John Henry sounds a bit like the late Carl Sagan, seems very cool and professional though:)

Funny how we haven't had a Alberta Clipper since the polar vortexes started.
Talk about global warming
NO SHIT
Global warming is the warming of the AVERAGE global temperature
trunksdbzful I wish that people would get all the facts about Global Warming before they write things that make them look foolish.

I think the lowest recorded temperature to where I live was 20 below zero
How many women on that ice breaker? #wagegapisamyth
We need to force them out there! Only 50/50 will be acceptable! I’d far rather white women were out there breaking ice than having a family!
