I've seen pictures from girls who have used the patches, where the patch left a bad red mark, 'rash', or even a chemical burn type area where the patch was. I'm not sure if there are different brands or different chemical make up with different kinds of patches as I take my HrT orally, but I'd ask you doctor about them. It has seemed uncommon, the red spots, but it's a very real possibility. Yes, protect your liver and ask for estradiol patches. They also result in more consistent blood concentrations too. The only real downside of patches is higher cost so I can't see why your doctor would have a problem changing (consider getting a new doctor if they do). Are you on progesterone? That will likely need to remain tablet/injection. At least you aren't on anti-androgen tablets as their dosages are very harsh on the liver.

I take my estrofem only one quoter of 2 mg pill, once a day in the morning but into vagina. This is 0.5 mg estradiol a day. One week in the month I take it every other day: Tuesday Thursday and Saturday, in the same dosage 0.5 mg estrofem into vagina. This therapy gives me perfect and stable estradiol levels around 150 pg/mL. This is the best way to take estradiol to me.
I can add that patches are still in short supply,of course Estrogen cream is also available more plentiful currently.i was also up for a boob job,£5k.until the C19 took off.Of course all is off for now. You should change to patches or gel much safer as you get older as your gonna be on "E" for the rest of your life anyway. Another suggestion would be have a word with GenderGp !

I asked recently if I could switch from estradiol valerat tablet form to gel, creme, patch, or injection, and the head nurse (because Of the covid i didnt get to speak to a doctor) so instead she put me on a different brand of tablet called elleste solo, shakes head, it's still a tablet
