So no it will not fit silly!
2014 Chevrolet Silverado V6 my son drove the truck after the flash engine light was flashing for two days and then the truck shut off and he had it towed. I went and checked the truck out and ran a scan on the truck showed P305 and P 300. I found cylinder one and cylinder three coil packs bad so I changed all the plugs and the wires also they were fouled and very dirty and looked to be original. I checked to make sure that I was getting spark and I was. I tried to start the truck and it would just turn over with no start. I checked the mass airflow sensor and sprayed it out with mass airflow sensor cleaner. I also change the camshaft positioning sensor. Still no start. Any ideas
I tried starter fluid still no start
@@Watersedgeministry check the ground wire make sure that it's making a good connection and clean it where it connects to the frame also unplug the battery for 10 minutes this will reset the computer don't worry it won't hurt anything it just kind of resets everything. Those are the two things I would check and try first
@@EverydayImTECHnIt thank You so much
thanks for the video, but one should always disconnect the negitive "-" cable to avoid accidental shorting.thanks.edh
Pro tip:
Always disconnected the NEGATIVE battery terminal when working on your vehicle
Doing my starter today in Minnesota at -32 degrees. I can`t wait!
Sounds like a fun time LOL good luck & I hope you don't freeze!!!
Heated blanket between two pieces of cardboard makes for a hell of a backing plate to lay on
This wouldnt be a mechanic video without the heavy breathing lol good job tho
Thanks for making the video. One tip, you should always remove the negative terminal first. Because the negative cable is connected to the car body and if you go for the positive one first and accidentally touch any metal part with the metallic tool you will short circuit the battery (not to mention causing a shower of sparks).
Great video! Helps me out a bunch. Thank you for sharing.
This has been the best video on this. Thank you.
thank you, i have an H2 HUMMER , and must remove the starter , now i know how it works... thank you verr much i think i can do it.
best regards and God bless from Austria.
I have the same cut in my key, my oil pressure gauge in pegged to the max and have the same cut in the front seat. Glad to see all the Chevy's have the same wear and tear issues. ha Thanks for showing what I am looking at to change the starter.
chevy lol
@@EverydayImTECHnIt any of you guys ever fix your oil pressure gauge?
@@mikebeltrami7769 Oil pressure switch back behind the intake needs to be replaced!
Thanks for the video bro! Good one. Ima give her a shot.
Thanks for the video man, helped a ton!
..you really need to be commended for your effort to try and video those tight spots.
Thanks for your effort!
I wasn't interested in this video until you removed the Positive battery cabe 1st 🤔 i want to see if you would put the starter in backwards and upside down hahahaha
Finally details on everything
About to have to do this on my 2002 Silverado
Great video thanks for the info and detail
Thank you.
just swapped out a starter I appreciate it
Excelent 👏👏👏👏👏👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
about to jump into this repair, thanks for the video, really helps!
For sure no worries glad it helped
@@EverydayImTECHnIt got my dad's truck up and running, keep doing what you're doing and stay safe out there.
@@Caballeroshot awesome I bet your dad was happy!
@@EverydayImTECHnIt yeah, he doesn't have to bum my mom's car anymore.
i am curious i see videos about having to make sure the teeth are lined up and have proper spacing with the flex plate is that not necessary should it line up automatically with the new starter
Great video. Make sure you remove the wire connections before you remove the 2 bolts that hold the starter.
Thanks
i removed them after taking out the old one found it easier didnt have to rip of my fender flare
Thanks thank you
no worries glad it helped!!!! :)
Good video
Thx
Amazing that the 14mm nut was already loose.
Way easier to get at the wires on a two wheel drive.
Hey man my starter caught 🔥 if I replaced it should it be ready to rock and roll? I mean it is a Chevy
I clicked on the link you listed for the AC Delco starter on Amazon, but it appears it will NOT fit my 2001 Silverado. Interesting.😮
I hooked the wires first and can not install , will that ake a difference?
O good
Any concerns with spacers or anything like that being needed? I know on some vehicles they're necessary and on some they aren't
Thanks For INFO
Yeah of course my starter decided to die in freezing weather.
Your video was helpful though. Thank you for posting.😋
Too many ads
The extra bolt is because some OEM starters have a short bolt and long bolt
Got a 2005 with a 6V is this the same process on that truck? Thanks
Thanks glad video was able to help you get her done!!!!
Invest in a set of stubby ranching wrenches and a smaller led light, your worth it!
Ever wonder how many times people don’t disconnect the battery before working on things?
No
How do I actually fix the problem
Cheaper is not always better when it comes to a starter personally I would have went back with the GM original equipment starter.
YES SIR I AGREE if you got the few extra bucks order ACDELCO that is OEM replacement that why i listed it first link in description 99-07 GM 5.3L, 6.0L, 4.8L V8 Vortec STARTER
amzn.to/2WeMazW
Is it the same starter from a 4.3 to a 6.0?
YES
Inordered one from ebay and it only cane with one bolt also
LOL
The Rong battery cable the native one the black cable remove
Your correct my bad that my mistake sorry hope the video helped in some way thx for watching tho
Mi Silverado andas de repente se apaga el motor se tranco
The third bolt was to jam in between the flywheel and starter so there would be no air gap, did you read the instructions?
So funny.
bro how i see all these ppl with the space to remove the starter but mine has not space to remove it
Probably because my truck is a 2 Wheel and I bet you have a four-wheel-drive
Not positive negative offf 👍
100% correct that's my bad
& thanks for feedback
13 mm socket
8:39 lol gottem
😂 this is perfect
Holy fuck you didn’t need that many ads😂
What about Z71
Z71 has 4X4 but is the same just less space to work & harder to drop out starter once it is disconnected completly
You pronounced it “Vortex” instead of “ Vortec”, next video please.
Now tie junk
I'm sorry brother but I stopped watching after you unhooked the positive cable only lol dude as soon as you spark that thing trying to place it back on you could definitely short some stuff big time.

Fo Sho
13mm not 14mm lol
Nah want only Gm products NOT CHINA 🇨🇳 Frickin made
Ya for sure the made in China cheap starters suck & work for a while like 6 months to a year then break go figure you get what you pay for I like the AC Delco starters & it has lifetime replacement if anything doe's happen to it. I agree "Not China Frickin Made" lol
Good vid! Little long in the teeth tho.😉
right on LOL thx for feedback!!!
Not really a good idea to brake torque with a ratchet. Not even a Snap-On.
LOL for sure i hear you thanks for feedback!
I quit watching after disconnecting wrong battery terminal.
