Im a guy in my early 20's, i'd known this car as a coupe and sedan, but then i saw the hatchback recently and just absolutely fell in love, instantly became a dream car, such a beautiful machine.
The coupe is nice but yes, the hatchback is the machine! Keep a lookout I've a few in the last few months for sale, not quite as nice as this one, but worth putting some work into.
The Coupe looked good, but it was so similar to the Prelude. The Accord Hatchback was and is very unique looking! I hope you find one! The last two that I saw for sale in good condition were DX models, so they had the black bumpers and carb instead of fuel injection (no power windows or cruise either). But I bet there are some LXis out there.
@@derekdoeschannel I just got one for my son fixing it up. currently has a rough start. taking it to the mechanic. other than that runs great. is that normal to have to pump the gas three times before starting? the previous owner said it was.

@@derekdoeschannel FWIW, I had louvers on my '85 CRX and they rattled constantly. I don't know if the same is true for the Accord Hatchback, but they do look very retro and cool.
It looks amazing! I was 12 when this car was new. My cousin was a mechanic at a Honda dealership and I would go to work with him on days out of school and Saturdays. I loved these so much. I never quite understood why the LXi Hatchback didn't get the alloy wheels and sunroof like the Sedan, but these wheels look better IMHO. Just getting OEM wheels back on it and cleaning up the black exterior trim looks incredible! Edit: The pop-up headlights completed the look of this car. The European versions without them don't even look like the same car. I suppose it had something to do with legal compliance. Like the rest of the car, I've read that the headlight motors are the most reliable in the business.
Awesome memory. Yes, It's a sleeper of a classic for sure, but its day will come. I thought about changing the wheels, but I kind of like the oem caps on it. And those headlights pop up in a heartbeat!
Still hanging on to my 1999 Honda Civic EX sedan. Never thought I'd be married to this thing but apparently I am. Last couple months, replaced rear brakes and then starter. Also replaced the long time cracked windshield.
I had this same car that I bought used in 1994. In 2024 I can still say that it was tied for the best car I've ever had. The other is a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. The Honda was so refined and ahead of it's time that it still drives along with me to this day. I sold it in favor of a brand new 1997 Dodge Neon. Wow! I had a new car! Yeah...Please give me back that Honda!!
I agree. Honda's from the 80's and early 90's were the best of the best. I test drove a neon about that same time, it would have been a tough choice to get rid of it, but I understand, a new car is a new car. I'm glad I found this one.
The car is beautiful very. Sorry I do not speak good english I am from Japan. In year 1986 I go to the car dealer and buy this car new. The car is coupe, gold color and automatic very reliable. I drive this car now every day since 1986. You say in the video about headlight. Japan has 2 version. 1 headlight, 2 pop up headlight so we have both. We love pop up headlight very much. The headlight version is a option from the car dealer for luxury, you have this option also with the Carburetor or Injected engine versions. I choose pop up and Carburetor because this is simple, easy work! If you like style of the old car, and you wish to make it nicer you can buy 1986 1987 Honda Prelude Front Bumper and it will fit. These cars are the same body. Your Interior is good. On the door this plastic is hard, common to break. Surprise to see you have it good condition! Please take care of this car.
Hello! Thank you for watching. Yes this car is special. I was able to paint the front bumper to make it look new again. I'll look into the Prelude to see how that would look. My big problem now is my seat belts don't work correctly and Honda doesn't make them any more. Thank you for watching!
