Linda shows the full range of her voice in this Karla Bonoff song and takes on an emotional roller coaster ride with her. From the softest whisper to all out power, vulnerability to strength and everything in between. The greatest vocalist of our time.
That last “leave” is why nobody comes close. Organically perfect technique with the most beautiful and powerful voice that can do anything she wants it to. No tricks. Just perfect singing.
Linda Ronstadt ALWAYS sang her heart out for every singing performance, no matter where or when. She's been my favorite singer for at least 45 years now and will continue to be so.
OK LETS START A CLUB LOL. MY FAV SINCE EARLY 70S - 5O YEQRS?!And for the same reasons. The emotionality can be desperately raw, heartbreaking but her perfect pitch, power, range and musicality makes our crazy states beautiful!
You ALWAYS start a concert with a fast-paced, easy to sing song... to get things going. Not Ronstadt. She comes out and blasts a slow, difficult to sing song out of the water. Perfection.
Strange that the visual on this is so clear and the audio is so messy. Linda. Seeing her do this live back then--it just blew you away. Still slices right through you. Brilliant singer--and she actually got better than this!
There's somebody waiting alone in the street For someone to walk up and greet Here you are all alone in the city Where's the love that you took to your side Lonely faces will stare through your eyes in the night And they'll say Woman sweet woman Please come home with me You're shining and willing and free But your love is a common occurrence Not like love that I feel in my heart Still you know that may be what I need Is someone to lay down beside me And even though it's not real Just someone to lay down beside me You're the story of my life Someone to lay down beside me And even though it's not real Just someone to lay down beside me You're the story of my life The morning is breaking The street lights are off The sun will soon share all the cost Of a world that can be sort of heartless Not like love that I feel in my heart Still you know that may be all you'll get Is someone to lay down beside you And even though it's not real Just someone to lay down beside you You just can't ask for more
The one and only Linda Ronstadt. No other performer can begin to touch her talent. ❤

This might be her most underrated song!
The voice of an angel
Love her now just like I did in high school, class of 1979

Same here! Love her and her music!! Class of 1979!!
Wow, Linda sings her heart out on this one. I got chills at 3:40 when she hits that incredible note.

There's somebody waiting alone in the street
For someone to walk up and greet
Here you are all alone in the city
Where's the love that you took to your side
Lonely faces will stare through your eyes in the night
And they'll say
Woman sweet woman
Please come home with me
You're shining and willing and free
But your love is a common occurrence
Not like love that I feel in my heart
Still you know that may be what I need
Is someone to lay down beside me
And even though it's not real
Just someone to lay down beside me
You're the story of my life
Someone to lay down beside me
And even though it's not real
Just someone to lay down beside me
You're the story of my life
The morning is breaking
The street lights are off
The sun will soon share all the cost
Of a world that can be sort of heartless
Not like love that I feel in my heart
Still you know that may be all you'll get
Is someone to lay down beside you
And even though it's not real
Just someone to lay down beside you
You just can't ask for more
extraordinary ... voice, presence, good song great band, no glitter needed. Linda's Atlanta concert has to be one of the greatest of all time
When you see the Dawn on a frosty day to seeing dusk
in the northern Australia and the first rains of winter don't compare to this woman
perfection
My favorite singer the other is Stevie Nicks
The sound quality on this is not good. But...and let me put this the ebonics way, "She blows this shit away!"
LIVE. Linda Regina!
Was this the show at the Civic Center when she opened for Jackson Browne?
Opened? Seriously. In 1977? She was one of two or three biggest artists in the US in 1977. Browne not so much. FYI she opened for Browne pre-1973.
