    A top tip, if your kids need a gateway watch drug, theres also the Lady series of LRW 200. Looks the same in photos, but quite a bit smaller. I have both in the houshold, my MRW has been to hell and back. My 6 year old wears a MRW most of the time due to it being blue (boys will be boys) but the LRW does fit him much better.

    I had the black with yellow hands and numbers model. Pretty good disposable watch. Super lightweight and the day-date is impressive at the price-point. In a box now because i realized how much I need a backlight in my outdoors activities. I just wish they would port the solar powered moon phase and tide watch (with neap and spring tide, plus LED illumination) to a quality housing.

    You must have been fairly wealthy growing up as I would have thought you would have said Blackpool! Growing up in industrial north west England that was our holiday destination of choice. Another great value offering from Casio which as always for your price you get a lot of watch for your money

    • @1973retrorabbit
      @1973retrorabbit 5 років тому +1

      Sadly, it costs about the same amount of money for a week in Blackpool as it does for a package holiday to Spain (add in the cost of travel from Scotland), biggest difference is you're more likely to get the sun in Spain and the booze is cheaper... If you weigh that up, Spain wins... also, I always found you ended up in the same B&B as the neighbours you were trying to get away from in Blackpool.
      I hear Blackpool is the swinging capital of the UK though, so if that's your thing... lol.

      Perhaps my experience over the years with Casio giving us so much watch for so little money I now imagine they can do anything for next to nothing. Is lume really that expensive? My low cost Seiko 5 has bright, long lasting lume. Added cost would be less than a dollar a watch is my best guess. I even looked into adding lume myself with a watch paint sold on Amazon. Add long lasting lume, bump the price up 1$ and it would be a fantastic bargain.

    San Miguel pale pilsen, the best loved beer from the PH 🍻
    43mm is quite big so for the ladies who want one, LRW-200H is the women's version of this watch (sadly there is only one black variation available and all else are white and pastel). Makes perfect sense as a holiday watch. Looks good, it's water resistant and great for the beach, can take a beating, and cheap enough that it won't hurt if you get too drunk and somehow lose it.

    Bought a black band/case white face (which I think looks incredible) after viewing this video. Out of 15 watches, it has become my favorite EDC watch. I wear it in the shower, sleep in it & even wear it in the hot tub. I love how casio watches have 4 simple screws to remove to take the back off for a battery change. No more watches for me that require a press to get the back on. I use the bezel for cooking things in the oven sometimes. I feel naked without it on anymore. Incredible value for the money!

    That's another watch ordered after seeing a new JOMW video on youtube after a few Malbec's. What a lovely, quirky looking time piece.

    I've recently figured out my perfect holiday/camping/festibal watch is the Casio Royale. Used to be the Timex Weekender but the tic is just absurdly loud. May need to check this one though, can't go wrong for a twenty! Great work Jody

    By the way, the equivalent to a Spanish Island vacation from Scotland in Canada is definitely Cancun or possibly Los Cabos. Unbelievable beaches in Cancun! Beautiful country, lots to do besides lounging, and great people!
    ...and last time I brought my perfect plastic casio holiday watch, easily handles the swimming and snorkeling and doesn't draw unwanted attention...
    ;-)

    Nice looking watch! The Casio analog-digital watches are also useful for travelers. I like to set mine with the time of my country of origin on the analog part, and use the digital time for my country of vacation (and airline stops in between).

    Here's a question for you. People always say dings and scratches have stories behind them. So if you only bring cheap watches on your holidays, wouldn't your cheap watches have the greatest stories to tell whereas your favourite watches only tell a tale of mostly being in a dark box tucked away in a shelf somewhere?

    • @bikesnblades6737
      @bikesnblades6737 5 років тому

      While technically correct, the expensive watch won´t tell any tales to you either once it has been sold off on the black market by the guy who just mugged you because of it ;-)
      So a holiday watch imho is a great idea if you´re traveling in any part of the world where you might accidentally walk into the wrong side alley.
      Personally i prefer the cheap Casio digitals ones.

      On out of country holidays I would bring a Casio. I recall Don King being robbed of his Rolex in Mexico City some years back. If it can happen to Don it can happen to anyone of us..

    • @PT111111
      @PT111111 5 років тому

      I did say "your favourite watches", not your most expensive watches, unless you only like a watch based on how expensive it is. I just meant I won't go buy a cheap watch just to make it my holiday watch. Because of that, I have some very fond memories attached to my watches.
      That said, use your common sense too. I wouldn't take an expensive watch to a developing country with high crime rate either. Not that I would go to such places for holiday.
      Next holiday is Japan. I will only bring one watch and expect to buy a few there.

    Bought the black and gold one and it looked way more expensive than what I got it for. Unfortunately I only owned it for a couple of hours cos it felt small on my wrist perhaps the MRW210 would've been more ideal. There's also a chrono style one (MRW400) for those interested.

    A couple months back, Amazon listed the one with black dial and dots for $11 USD. Of course, I had to buy. And it tuns out to be a really nice, practical, durable knock around watch that looks like a downscale MDV106 Duro Marlin, another Casio I own but have never really warmed up to. The MRW200, however, has been on my wrist most of the time since I got it.
    I almost bought the purple(blue?)/yellow one about a year ago, but I decided against it since they don't seem to be as widely distributed in the US, and can cost twice as much as the black band/case one. I like the color, but I didn't realize the band has a glossy texture rather than the satin that the black ones have. I think I might have been disappointed with that feature.

    What a great beater watch! Love that Casio does analog watches at this great price point. It will make a great gift for my grandson who thinks the only way to read time is digital! To bad they don’t teach the basics anymore. It’s all modern computer crafts that they have already learned playing video games. THEY DON’T EVEN TEACH CURSIVE WRITING ANYMORE!!! No wonder American students are lagging behind in learning. 😢

    Hi Jody, just picked up a Submariner knock off from Amazon, the brand is called Reginald(I know what a hilarious name) but the quality for the price is amazing, it runs a quartz movement, but has sapphire glass & solid end links on some models & best of all they are only $60-$70of our Aussie dollars, worth a look & build quality is better than Invicta.
