The film version of Misery is indeed revered. It's the 2nd King adaptation by director Rob Reiner (Stand By Me was the 1st) and it's the 2nd screenplay William Goldman wrote for Reiner (The Princess Bride was the 1st). So you have these masters of the art of shifting tone taking what King did and boiling it down to what's genuinely suspenseful and bone-chilling. James Caan vs. Kathy Bates is a weird pairing on paper but when you see it on screen, it works. Also, there's not really a lot of penis. I'm looking forward to Nightbitch. Amy Adams is an actress who continually impresses me, and Marielle Heller is a director who continually impresses me. Next Xmas will be nice. Slowing down definitely comes with guilt. My solution, more often than not, is to sprinkle smaller tasks into my Thxgiving and my Xmas.
I'm glad Misery is a good film! I am looking forward to watching that over my winter break! (And thank goodness the peens are less 😂) I am SO devastated that I JUST found out that Nightbitch isn't having a wide release in theaters and I was looking forward to going to the movies. I know it will be on streaming (I think I saw on Hulu) but I wanted to see it now 😭 I similarly like Amy Adams and want to see her in this weird role. That's a good solution and that's something I've been doing more since I've been on the mend! Thanks for watching as always!!
