Sick video my guy! When I’m not working and driving my 2013 Chevy Silverado I drive a 2012 civic si with full bolt ons and cams. My wife drives a 2018 accord sport which is basically same engine as the 10th gen si and she can keep up with me when we ran them against each other. It’s amazing how far Honda has come!!
Rob Cameron - Car Vlogs Correction:the accord touring has the same platform as the type R which is the 2.0t but the sport comes with the 1.7t which is what the Si has. Sorry bro for correcting you.
The 8th generation Civic Si also got helical type limited slip differential, in which the "acura rsx -usdm" did not nor did the previous generation Civic sis
10th Gen is the 1st turbo with DI engine Honda is manufacturing. I have read DI egineers have issue with carbon buildup in the intake valves due to where the injectors are located. DI engines inject fuel directly into the cylinders where combustion takes place. Because of this the valves can get very dirty with carbon buildup and will affect the engine's performance over time. The carbon buildup is a result of oil blowby. Whereas the PI engines inject fuel above the valves and in a way cleans them prior to reaching the the cylinders.I heard a catch can can be a solution to prevent the oil blowby to re-circulation back into the intake valves via pvc valve. The reason for me to bring this up is because I purchased a 2018 Civic si. Great to drive until I found out about potential issues with DI engines.
I absolutely love my 10th gen Si (2019). For me it strikes the perfect balance between practicality, power, and comfort. It gets excellent mileage when I'm toting the family around and is still fun to drive when I want to put my foot down.
I use to get 56mpgs out of my ej2 automatic highway. And 58mpgs after I swapped the d15b7 for a b18b1 manual transmission S80 with Type R internals, P06 ecu manual transmission converted. But with the b18b1 140 bhp and 127 lb⋅ft. compared with the 102 hp and 98 lb·ft. Is a big improvement..
8th gen si is best because it's the last one with dual cam profile VTEC and a engine that can rev up to 8000rpm and to 8600rpm with a reflash. The 9th gen is good, but it's missing exhaust side VTEC so when doing a NA setup you can't make as much easily as the K20Z3. I feel like they should of put the K24A2 in the 9th gen instead if that was possible.
8th and 9th gen are by far the best SI ever made.. They are just all around the best.. They are the last 2 remaining NA models and they have the best engines (k20/k24).. The ability to mod NA and boost is almost limitless. The new 10th gen is a nice car and all, but with that baby Honda Fit motor, and needing boost just to hit similar numbers to an NA k20/k24, you are very limited with the 10th gen.. There is no option of an NA build, and with the single port DI, it also limits how the head breathes. I like the EM2 and older models as well as well, but more for their chassis to K-swap lol
Am I the only one who prefers the 6th gen the most to this day?? One word: visibility. Also a very forgiving clutch, really nice balance, and an incredible aftermarket. Had mine for 4 years/70k miles before it was stolen and scrapped about 5 years ago. You’re turning me on to the 8th gen a little though! 9th gen does have nicer interior that would be the only deciding factor between the 2 imo.
6th and 8th Gen Si's hands down! I love my 10th gen that I own currently but I really wish they would've bumped up the power to at least 230hp just to continue to compete with the GTI as it did for decades....230 HP/ 210tq and I think it would've went along with the trend of power increase but with all the turbo 4 bangers, it's got the least HP in it's class.....This would've had a great Focus ST fighter but it's just down on the power....
I'm a Honda Civic fanatic. my brand new 2022 SI. Is far by best. But Honda being Honda that's normal. the new SI handling. And 6 speed manual transmission is Beyond fun to drive.!!
I own a 2019 Si and these cars have been putting near 200whp and some over 200ft lbs of torque stock. So they may have been a little underrated. Also you can pick up more HP easier with the 10th gen. 10th gen is leauges in quality and handling over the older ones.
i’m impressed with the 9th gen civic. i got hit head on by a 2015 si while i was in my 2015 jeep and while i limped away i thought si guy was toast but nope he just broke his foot. at 90+mph combined speeds this dude in a civic coupe lived to tell the tale of him eating the grille of my jeep

The 8th gen coupe is such a great car. Both the American and European version are the best looking. The 10th gen is probably the best performer, but the 8th gen will always be my go to. It also came standard with an lsd...something the current gen lacks.
IMO, Honda should've thrown the 250hp 2.0L Turbo, out of the current gen Accord Sport, into the 10th gen Si. It would've bridged the gap between the Type R and the "regular" Civic models much better, because the 10th gen Si is like Barely better/different from the other lower trims and there's such a jump between that and the Type R. Plus, it would've made the first ever turbo from factory Si stand out a lot more and be more competitive in that specific market space.
Am in love of the 6th gen hatch or coupe because they look good and have huge aftermarket support and i personally like the look of it but am debateing on hatch or coupe tho
Si is all about high revving na motors, that's why I went with 9th. 8th I couldn't find a low mileage one. 10th I thought they strayed away from their true roots with going turbo. I'm sure turbo will catch on though when they release more gens of the si.

I think the 9th generation is the best. You can do a k20 engine heat swap with a few other mods and be really a nice naturally aspirated car. Or you can drop in a supercharger from Kraftwerks and be making over 350 whp.
