Kudos to the Lions, at some stage early on in the season I wasn’t sure that the lions would make the finals let alone the big dance. But they were able to bounce back magnificently in the 2nd half of the season and were able to become just the 2nd team since 2000 to win the premiership after finishing in the bottom half of the 8.
Because the Swans are mentally fragile in Grand Finals. Brisbane were tougher and harder. The Lions will go on and probably win another one or two flags with this group of players.
@POLARBEARS_ARECOOL_EDITZ Yep, I think Brisbane have become the second team for many Hawks fans. I guess because of the stoic, never-say-die Chris Fagan slogging it out since being appointed in 2018. As a Swans supporter, congrats to the Lions for winning the flag. They played almost perfect and I hope you enjoy this year’s premiership as much as you can. But in regard to how we played, it was an absolute disgrace. We bottled it yet again and it’s just frustrating to see this after the amazing season that we had. Especially with seeing our Midfield and Forward line get exposed. We really deserve better after the beltings that we’ve endured in three of our past four grand final losses. As a swans fan it was embarrassing to play like that in grand final but I have to admit it was good effort for lions start season 2-5 and win grand final good job lions respect
Usually around 70% of Grand Finals, are won by a team in the 3ed quarter, where they play unstoppable footy that the opposition has no answer to . The Lions did that in 13 minutes in the 2nd quarter
Sydney has no foward line besides papley. if their star mids are being matched or outplayed they have 0 avenue to score. and no defense can withstand the amount of pressure brisbane was putting up.
Did you see him on the bench after our first goal? He was being so arrogant and that's when I knew things were looking bad. Arrogance is such a terrible trait.
It’s kinda sad to think that a 60 point margin is a kind result to the swans. The 2nd quarter the lions missed a few pretty easy set shots, the swans only goal came from a BS 50 against Zorko, and then some garbage time goals when no 1 cared anymore. Could’ve been a lot worse
I'm glad that Brisbane beat Geelong, because if they didn't, it would've been another Geelong premiership. Let's be honest here, ANY team would've beaten the Swans yesterday!
I don't want to hear one Swans fan say they are proud. We couldn't have had a better build up then we did and still shat the bed. Mental strength of a half chewed potato
The statement at the end??!! Lions catch “lightning in a bottle” . Well … no … not really. In fact it was more like a 10 year rebuild before making the finals , then a sustained run of regular season success with 3 or 4 , top 4 finishes in a row only to be bundled out in straight sets or falling a game short until finally the years of consistency and the experience get them to a GF but then they have to wonder how many times do they have to step up a level before they’re ready to win the whole bloody thing.??!! Well they got their answer with the final boss level last week against Geelong and were rewarded with a GF that was basically just a 4 quarter victory lap and a full circle tears to glory moment for the club
That was the real GF last week. But that was like 2007 when Geelong and the Pies went at it in the PF with Geelong going on to have a victory lap with Port Power.
Exactly. We've won more games then any other team in the last 6 years and had a pretty obvious progression: 2 semi-final exits, followed by two prelim exits followed by a lost and then victorious GF.

I like how the the grand final is boring but all the other games are insane
Best season I've ever seen... UP THE LIONS! ❤
Best sport on the planet
Swans was squashed so hard that renamed themselves South Melbourne again.
Greetings from Brazil
Much ❤️ from 🇦🇺.
@@shanebrady6986 thanks ❤️
As a Swans supporter, congrats to the Lions for winning the flag. They played almost perfect and I hope you enjoy this year’s premiership as much as you can.
But in regard to how we played, it was an absolute disgrace. We bottled it yet again and it’s just frustrating to see this after the amazing season that we had. Especially with seeing our Midfield and Forward line get exposed. We really deserve better after the beltings that we’ve endured in three of our past four grand final losses.
Even with how I’m gutted and angry I am, I’m still proud of this season, but I really hope that the Swans never play like this in a Grand Final ever again. Here’s hoping that better days are ahead and I look forward to the day where we break our premiership drought with all of the composure in the world to do it. When we touch the trophy second, then I’ll certainly know that’ll be our day. Here’s hoping that 2025 will be our year ❤️🤍
Disgraceful team full of flogs!! Never forget dane rampe 0-4 in grand finals!!
Never forget I Heeney giving up 2 quarters in
Wasn't you that told swans are a different team then 2022 and they will win it easy 😂😂😂😂
@Flamingbro69 Yesterday just serves to show that ALL the sweat, intensive training and games of the Home and Away season, almost fade away to a ticking clock on GF Day. There's a surreal element to the game time. /Anyway, I thought your post here showed a lot of grace - despite your raw disappointment and heartache.
@@messi4brownlowbit harsh on heeney they had 22 other clowns heeney played crack shin they had to play him
Who else 😅😅😅
As an American I have no idea what I just watched but this was electric! Awesome sport!
even Richmond beat Sydney at the MCG this year and they finished on bottom…
That 2nd Quarter, a game within a game!!!
AND THE 5TH PLACE UNDERDOGS WIN
Yeah what a season, legendary, I'm stoked for them. Pies fan.
As a swans fan it was embarrassing to play like that in grand final but I have to admit it was good effort for lions start season 2-5 and win grand final good job lions respect
You’ll get there soon.
The only Grand Finals worth going to are when Collingwood are playing . At least you will get an effort ! Congrats to the Lions . Glad they won !
Collingwood played Brisbane in the grand final in 2003. How did that go?
@@AlbieAughtie Was it a good game to watch ?
Usually around 70% of Grand Finals, are won by a team in the 3ed quarter, where they play unstoppable footy that the opposition has no answer to . The Lions did that in 13 minutes in the 2nd quarter
Been following them since the Bears. Easily their finest win.
Stunning result. Swans left the building the middle 2 quarters.
Wow sydney really had the lions there for 10 minutes
Congratulations, Lions!! From São Paulo, Brazil!!
UP THE LIONS
Ah Chee in the third, fkn footy at its best!!!❤
don't compare Heeney to Dustin Martin ever again.
Not heeney the other 22 clowns 🤡 he had crack shin. Still no excuses 😅
One of the best games ever but turned out to be a blowout. Congrats to the Brisbane lions.🎉
Kai lohmann has sooo much flare!
Sigma aura
NEVER STOPPED BELIEVING!!!!! PRIDE OF BRISBANE TOWN !!! 🦁🦁🦁🦁🦁🦁🦁🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
What a comedy of a game 😂😂😂
I'm so happy that my team brisbane lions won the grand final
Congratulations Lions 🦁
So good seeing the Lions get up
Well done👏👏👏👏👏
Sydney has no foward line besides papley. if their star mids are being matched or outplayed they have 0 avenue to score. and no defense can withstand the amount of pressure brisbane was putting up.
Congrats to to Brisbane football club
"He's hit himself in the head. Blakey's confused"
Spot on.
I want to see Crows vs Blues, that's always the best game. Love you to bits, both of you!
After that goal papleys head went from air balloon size down to ping pong .
Even esscrap😅😅😅
total wrong way to look at the game but okay
@@superbstylez5465to be fair, Richmond would've beaten Sydney yesterday! 🤣

Let’s go back to back lions 💪🏆🏆
This is the 2017 version of the grand final but Sydney
More like 2014
@@eugenekrabs8986 that too
@@crowkid5553feel sorry for Swans fans, it’s becoming a bit of a joke now. Getting humiliated so many times in Grand Finals🥶
As a crows fan 2017 still hurts. Then again, didnt GWS get smashed in a grand final even worse the following year?
More like 2022
I expected Sydney to win, but wanted Brisbane to win.
I don't want to hear one Swans fan say they are proud. We couldn't have had a better build up then we did and still shat the bed. Mental strength of a half chewed potato
Pathetic effort. Embarrassing. Shameful.
Finally… been waiting since ages…
ABC radio replayed the whole game yesterday afternoon.
What a win! From a Saints fan in New Zealand.
Yeah a rebuild after winning 3/4 GF in a row lol
That was the real GF last week. But that was like 2007 when Geelong and the Pies went at it in the PF with Geelong going on to have a victory lap with Port Power.
Exactly. We've won more games then any other team in the last 6 years and had a pretty obvious progression: 2 semi-final exits, followed by two prelim exits followed by a lost and then victorious GF.
