Ah gosh you will have the most amazing time in Mana Pools, it is one of my favorite spots!
Andrew st Pierre White hates jimny's... When will you be taking your jimny on a trip, we did a 4000km through Botswana in ourJimny with absolutely no hickups, never got stuck once. Had a blast in Savuti but if you're looking for a more wild experience you have to visit Dijara. Packing the jimny does require a healthy amount of imagination. The jimny is the perfect car for Botswana.
We do want to take our jimny on a big trip - we need to kit it up a bit first though!
Kirsten I agree with you on the birding. Large a carnivore good. Small and looking like all other small birds boring. Lol

James, could you and Kirsten write a fictional book about a couple like you and their adventures but exaggerate it a bit to emphasize the difference of the experience for each of them? Bird watching was a perfect example. You and Kirsten are well matched but if your fictional couple weren't it might be very funny while still rich in African beauty. Write it together. I enjoy you both so much.

Missing or broken number plates out in the Bundu. So what. No big deal. Methinks that Policeman was perhaps attempting a little revenue gathering. Your father-in-law chose wisely by purchasing a Toyota. Toyota's are very reliable. Nothing like those Landrovers at Djuma which are forever being repaired. Now James can borrow Kirsten's Dad's Toyota without any fear of anything going wrong !!
