    Thank you so much for your high praise of my homeland. Zimbabwe has its problems yes, but the landscape and wildlife will forever be the attraction.
    This series in Mana Pools, has certainly bought back so many memories of our visits to the area. We spent time with Painted Dogs, lying in the shade close to the road. We saw the biggest crocs we had ever seen at Long pool. Having a huge bull elephant wait for us to pack up our fishing equipment, as this was his crossing point on the river. His footprint obliterated 3 of the 4 indentations from my camp chair! The eland and buffaloes wondering around Nymepi camp in the small hours of the morning. Magical Mana always delivers.
    Thank you for this series, I look forward to the last episode.
    Kind regards.

    Thank you for sharing your trip to Mana Pools and all your other Safari's. I watch the 1st to the last and wouldn't want to miss any of the episodes. I really don't understand why people wouldn't be hooked after watching the first episode.
    I would love to go on Safari to any location with Wildlife. First I would need an idea of cost, dates, then time to save....probably 2 years! So I am thankful for UA-cam and content myself with watching other peoples Safari's. ❤🌹🐆🐘

    Great vlog! You area wonderful couple and while watching, I reminisced the years I had with my late wife. I am hoping to get to the pools in December 22. As weather is as predictable as lottery tickets, I am hoping the rains will be slow to arrive. I was fortunate to miss the heavy stuff last November/December in Namibia and hoping my luck will hold in that regard.
    Your videos are awesome however, I would love to see some of your still captures included for the added inspiration. I bet you have some amazing shots.
    Lastly, come to Canada (west coast in particular) and capture our grizzly bears gorging on salmon in the rivers on their run. Thx! Keep up the great content and team work, it fills my heart to see people like you who are enjoying and sharing a wonderful life. Greetings from Canada🍁

    Thanks for the chat and catching us up with you. Just so you know, I watch every episode of each series and I'm sure most of us do. I do share with others also. You both are so good to share your time and talents. I hope WE takes you up and has you do some drives as you are sorely missed. Your videos get better every time. I think you do great work and you get even better. Now I'm going to be greedy and ask for a new Songs and Stories when you have the time! But don't let it take away from finishing your book, which I am eagerly looking forward to! Take care and be well!

    Hi James and Kirsty, sorry I missed the live chat but have to say that listening to all your answers and stories on this video, is equally as interesting as the actual episodes themselves, so informative and adds so much context to your episodes, in fact if it was combined (take us through your episodes in a live chat) that would be amazing.

    Loved the wild dog sound. Sounded like a car I once had. A 1999 VW Gold MK4. The starter had a problem so it would make a "barking" sound at the end of its cranking cycle and then my engine sounded exactly like that. The previous owner took out all the silencers. I called it Scorpion 🦂. After that good sound demo from you, I think I should have named it Bingo the wild dog.

    Enjoy your shows. You should make that trip to Malawi. When we lived there the parks excellent. Kasungu, Majete this was just a wilderness area with large herds of Sable . Now a up market park . Banks of Shire River nesting site for Carmine Bee Eaters. Lake beautiful and people unbelievably friendly.

      @@JamesHendry It is worth a visit, even though I am really rather biased. Added bonus can potentially see some Devils too, though they are far harder to see than Platypus. There is the odd nice winery and we do a decent dram down here too.

    Lol! Baboon story omw 😆 can imagine THAT image

  • @rhodesia1578
    @rhodesia1578 2 роки тому +1

    The wild dogs have become master baboon hunters .. no other place know in Southern Africa has any packs of wild dogs have done this . The reason been is the baboons has worked out when hunted by leopards they generally always run up trees .. so can a leopard . So now the baboons have decided to keep running past the trees but they lack the stamina of that of a wild dog . So in the end the baboon runs out of puff so to speak, making them easy to catch and consume. I have been fortunate enough to have witnessed many wild dog hunts at mana pools. Chitake is a another part of mana that is wilder than wild . Dangerous at night if camping.. never venture out at night when at Chitake ! The baboons at Chitake are also very different in personality . They seem not to harass the public or even make eye contact with humans . Long pool yes is the one pool that has hundreds of flat dogs ( crocs ) 😂. Zimbabwe has so much to offer in terms of landscape . Wildlife is so much better in different regions of Zimbabwe if you know the country… fortunately I was born and raised there . Walking on foot around Mana is generally very safe if you understand the body language of the animals.. be aware of your surroundings and be vigilant at all times . You see more on foot and experience more of the wildlife seeing them in their own habitat more than from a vehicle.

    You two are so much fun! But if you really want to see wolves in Yellowstone the main viewing season is winter…..and winter in Yellowstone is FRIGID. I am also dying to go see them and trying to decide if I can handle the cold. Also the states that comprise or surround Yellowstone have opened up wolf hunting to such an egregious degree this year, that everyone is waiting to see how the tourism industry is impacted. A full Yellowstone pack has been decimated this year alone….by baiting them out of the park. There are many groups trying desperately relist the wolves on the endangered list in the US but it hasn’t happened yet; We are fighting hard though. Stay tuned……and be prepared with some serious clothing and winter gear if you want to go see them in Jan-Feb-March.
