    Finally a review of the “base”model! Thank you sir! Got mine a week ago and loving it! Still a lot to learn and play with, but so happy right now. After the tax rebate and other incentives it was $11k off MSRP.

    I got the 2023 gc 4xe summit reserve and drove almost 2k miles so far. I have driven it through multiple types of terrain but mostly city / highway. I’ve been driving it on hybrid and only filling gas (not charging besides regen braking). My mpg falls between 17-19 overall. So about 340 miles to the tank. Jeep advertises 440 combined city / highway on gas only (23 mpg) so this kinda sucks.

    Finally a video of a real owners experience instead of a tester for a week. This is very informative and straight to the point on real-world mileage. Thank you!
    Is there anything in particular that you don't like about the vehicle?

      @NorthWestAutos  Рік тому +3

      Thanks Brian. I still have a hard time finding things I don't like. This has been an amazing vehicle so far. Maybe 3 things that I can point out. I think that adaptive cruise control should be tuned a little so it doesn't accelerate so quickly. The Interior should have a little less piano black plastic around the center console so it doesn't scratch easily. And the cheapest 4xe should be based on the Laredo trim and be more affordable for people. I will be doing more videos and if notice more things I will point them out as I go.

      @Brian K $5-6 at the station that's why I avoid them. Charging at home cost less than $2 to fully charge.

    You do a lot better than me when it comes to gasoline usage. I own a 2022 Hydro Blue Summit Reserve 4XE. I had to fill up my tank at around 400 miles. Still getting used to all the tech since I never owned a Jeep before. Excellent video 👍.

    Thx for vid. Do you have any insight on Jeep’s reliability on the 4xe models in general. I believe Jeeps overall reputation on reliability has improved but I am interested to know in general if the short couple years the 4xe has been on market if there have been many reported issues.

    Does anyone have an issue with the actual gas gauge being off? I have a full take of gas and it’s not showing 400 miles or whatever 19 gals gets you now a days. I know there is an average between the electric and gas but wondering if anyone else had this happen. Thanks in advance!

    • @NorthWestAutos
      @NorthWestAutos  Рік тому +1

      I just filled up the tank. It shows 408 gas miles range plus electric range. They are calculating about 21mpg gas engine. Usually, this range doubles and you should be getting real mpg around 50 (depending on your driving and charging habits).

    My wife and I are considering one of these and I have seen some conflicting information on it. 61 mpg is oncredible and that is really encouraging. What mode or modes do you drive it most in?

    • @NorthWestAutos
      @NorthWestAutos  Рік тому +2

      I drive mostly in hybrid mode which uses battery more than gas engine. Mpg really depends on how long your daily commute is and how often you charge your 4xe. You can get even better mpg than 61 if your commute is short and you charge it overnight. I hope this helps

    Does your mpg drop in hybrid mode with highway driving as opposed to just city driving?

    • @NorthWestAutos
      @NorthWestAutos  Рік тому +1

      Yes it does. The last time I drove about 300 miles and my mpg was average around 25mpg as expected. Driving under 30miles each way is kind of the sweet spot for 4xe.

    Does the vehicle use alot of battery when you run assesories like audio, air conditioning?

    • @NorthWestAutos
      @NorthWestAutos  Рік тому +3

      AC, heated seats, and accessories increase battery usage by about 5%. It doesn't affect the range by much because you can recover that just with regenerative braking.

    Is there a way to shut off the “auto on/off” for the gas engine, when the battery charge is all gone?
    Is the change smooth or noticeable when one stomp on gas pedal and cause the gas engine to come on and join in with the EV power?

    • @NorthWestAutos
      @NorthWestAutos  Рік тому

      There's no auto on/off button on 4xe's. Only on gas engines. Change is pretty smooth but you feel the additional power when you press the pedal. It's surprisingly quick.

  • @briank1665

    • @NorthWestAutos

      Yes there's a power reduction but it's not too noticeable. The hybrid battery always keeps a certain level of charge.
