You have brought up so many good points. What is the solution for people without home charging ability? Personally, I have very little need for a fast charger other than occasional road trips. But that is not the case for people in apartments/condos. The closest fast charger to me is 30 mins away. I think we sometimes underestimate the laziness or resilience to change. How many people drive down to E on gas every time they need it. Or say ill just fill up on the way to work in the morning. Does every Kroger/Target/Walmart ext need to get fast chargers? Maybe the focus needs to be fast food places? Everyone is close to a McDonalds... The real what can the consumer be charged that is still cheaper than gas but profitable for the companies/locations of the chargers.
Hey Pete! Another great video. I’m really jazzed about IONNA and am maybe foolishly optimistic that they’re going to get this whole DCFC thing right. They’ll have the advantage of not only deep pockets but because they’re going to have NACS plugs, they’ll be able to accommodate the biggest group of EVs out there instead of being limited to just CCS cars. Additionally, IONNA has the benefit of a much larger selection of hardware vendors to choose from that now have a proven record of reliability. I expect IONNA to try to siphon away Tesla drivers from Superchargers with locations and amenities that far surpass whatever Tesla can offer.
Good advice! Don't forget Pull through or bust(ed)!
Good idea on the mall charging 👍🏼
