6:48 I picked up a Panerai luminor marina 8 day with the open caseback for an awesome price. Nothing else wears like a Panerai. All its little features and differences make it an amazing watch. In fact let’s turn Bruce into a paneristsi
My bridesmaid watch was the omega planet ocean 39.5 blue. I always thought it was visually more interesting than a sub but we are brainwashed into the sub being the benchmark. I eventually got the po and i couldn't be happier with it!
@@jeremydahm2124 1960’s era 18 k gold Seamaster DeVille, older version of an AquaTerra, older Seamaster Professional, an older Speedmaster pro hesalite, Seamaster GMT, a new white dial 300M, and the aforementioned blue dial quartz Seamaster. Love Omegas…bought my LAST Rolex back in 99 (TT DJ). Thinking about a Tudor BB 54 or the new 41.
@@MikeOBrien1945 Wow. Nice collection! I really like that new BB41. Red or Black. I love the new two tone Speedy, yellow gold. Pricey but vintage cool....
The shortage of wrists is definitely a limiting factor in this hobby. I try and stay under 2 dozen watches, and I will swap out watches once or twice during the day. I feel that everybody gets appropriate wrist-time that way. Some more than others, but nothing wrong with having a few "occasional" watches. Glad to see another possible Paneristi in the making! I have been saying for the past few years that Panerai is THE value proposition right now. I might have gone a little overboard given that Panerai makes up literally half my collection right now, but no regrets. I love the 45mm Radiomir line. Definitely the most wearable size, while still remaining true to the brand ethos. In 45mm Radiomirs, I have a PAM 190 (JLC 877 movement - truly a phenomenal movement), a PAM 200 (white gold GMT - actually on the wrist as I type this), and a PAM 231 (base model design in rose gold). While I imagine some of the Panerai may move on to new homes in the coming years, I expect those 3 Radiomirs will be with me until the end. If I could only keep one watch from my collection for daily wear forever more, hands down the PAM 200. And on the subject of precious metal, the two aforementioned gold ones in my collection were not much more money than similar models in stainless steel. I also have a 1940 case in red gold and I absolutely love it. If Panerai in general is a good value proposition right now, then the precious metal is even more so!
@@BruceWilliams Nice! Definitely consider it! The simplicity of the PAM 610 is just so peaceful and elegant. I have a good number of 2-handers from Panerai and the look never gets old. If you're liking the wire lug Rad, but wanting a little more going on, then have a look at the PAM 268. I would have one myself, but it is very similar to my PAM 200, just minus the white gold and the GMT. The caliber is a variant of the p.2002, the first in-house offering from Panerai. Lots of Panerai-esque features to love, including the fabulous zero-reset found on the p.2002 movements! I will look forward to your future Panerai unveiling video, whichever one you end up with. :)
Great video! I have quite a few.. vintage JLC Memovox, JLC world timer (any world timer in fact), a different Grand Seiko than the one I have (Momij which is the Autumn 🍂)
For me is the Grand Seiko SBGP013, good size, 9F85, but i it isn't sold where i live and the import tax is so outrageous that makes it almost not worth it.
Cartier Ballon Bleu 42, preferably the one with the ETA. I’ve liked this watch since basically day one into the hobby over six years ago and have never pulled the trigger for one reason or another.
The Reverso. I love everything about it but, when I put it on my wrist, it just looks very small. With the recent JLC price hikes, it seems even less less likely that I will ever go for it. Now, the chronograph tribute may be a different story...
Probably top bridesmaid watch for me has been Sinn 556a. Look at it online time and time again, but when the budget is there have gone with something I could try on before I buy. The only online nature of it scares me off every time. At some point I will find one in the wild and see how it goes.
Ha ha ha.... "I have to exorcize the demon". My bridesmaid is a Laminar 8 Days. Was relieved it wasn't in stock when I was in Italy. It'll be waiting on chrono for way under retail with a few inevitable hairline nicks... That Radomir is lovely....
Why? who/what made you feel you would be settling? An influencer who is probably a stranger and doesn't know you from Adam. That's strange. The DJ is probably the most common watch on the planet.
@@davidr2802 who knows bro. I’m probably subtly influenced by others, but I’d like to think it’s my own choice. Weirdly enough, I don’t like the DJ enough to pay more than retail, so I’ll chill without either.
Ironic that you showed the blue Breitling SOH. The green 42mm version on rubber has been a bridesmaid for me for 3 years. It kept getting bumped on the list in favor of other stuff, mainly due to price but also other impulses/fascinations. I think the fact that it's been on my mind so long means it's a safe bet. I just have to have the discipline to make it happen. My othe bridesmaid is a Skydweller but she will die an old Spinster before I'll ever be in the position to pop the question.
Bretiling navitimer 92 has been that one for me. It has to have the full bracelet (in the right metal). It has to be in decent condition - not polished off half of the shape, and not a murdered dial. The price shouldn't be a robbery.
I have a little image folder in my phone with all the watches that i want to own. Every black friday or other big sale event i usually get an amazing deal on one of them. I'm a serial flipper so means if i scratch the itch and it doesnt satisfy me like i thought it would then i can sell it on and minimise the losses. I've even made profit off a few of them. My last pick up was a zodiac sea-chron brand new from an AD for 60% off retail. Before that a Ball skin diver 3 for similar discount.
The watch market is so unethical, the pink black bay chrono came out, ppl were so reserved saying it was too out there and then, our wonderful Kevin O Leary comes out to play and talking about how this is the one to get, the watch is now at $15000, I mean why? How can a person with a conscience do that?Enthusiasts, we get the wrong end of the stick regularly. Modest price increases are no more, saying that, the market is in a good place now that the price gougers have found themselves sitting on inventory.
Because you are miserable it gives you joy to have other people to be miserable? That's toxic to your health. Just be happy you have the wherewithal to be in this hobby in the first place.
@@davidr2802 That's what I am saying, money is not everything, I bought 2 casios for $76 today, my very first time owning a Casio and it's probably one of my happiest days in this hobby. So, I am not miserable, I am annoyed that it has become an investment activity. I just love watches.
1:10 can confirm buying in bunches does tone down the excitement. Saved 5 years for a yellow gold day date, then tried one and realized it was not what I wanted living in a rural farm town. Took that stack and bought a 16713 root beer, a 16570 Explorer 2 and a 2255.80 Seamaster (8:31 just pull the trigger it’s an awesome piece) and the experience was not nearly what I thought it would be. Love the watches but the whole experience was just not what I thought it would be.
i like the part where you saved for so long. low and slow is the name of the game. a) the hunt is often the best part, b) you need time to bond with a new watch. if there's too many watches in the box, they can't all be "your watch"
@@m4ttyp4nts The joy so often is in the doing. Setting a goal and grinding towards it has its own rewards. Giving up on a dream hurt but choosing myself in that moment taught me something.
Bro, I went to the shopping mall to get my first casio, I bought 2 and said if I buy all the grail casios I want now, it will mean less. If you have all the finances you need and you get everything, I bet you that you fall into depression.
All Rolex models. For various reasons. They are beautiful and iconic, but their marketing practices, prices and the fact that every jerk I know owns one. They will never go on a honey moon with me.
pam 1313 … at that price should have been COSC… nothing … plus it gets magnetized faster than a seiko … and have you seen its decoration??? don’t get me wrong they are beautiful but inside … ferrari with a renault engine … the ones before 2015 , 2016 are way better…
@@pruteanu6yeah, the 1313 was a bad year. They realized they can’t mess with people that easily and fixed some of the errors. The 9000 is solid, mine’s running at COSC as does the 3000. and the latest 9010 are supposedly better as well. The Rad he’s showing here with the 8day movement is a steal second hand, largely because it says “8 days” instead of “8 giorni” on the dial.
i had the U212 and loved its size but it was just too damn heavy. i wish sinn would make a large titanium model, but they seem to be fully committing to the u-boat steel in their divers.

same. looking elsewhere now that the value has evaporated.
