Where I hunt in Wisconsin when I bump a buck the try and make a J or C to double back. The C arc is usually a couple hundred yards to a mile in length. They usually end up within a couple hundred yards to a 1/4 mile of where you bump them ideally where they have a view of the bed they were in. Just my experience in a 75% woods 25% Ag field.
With all that being said, I’ve bumped bucks while climbing that were bedded close. They never come back 😂 I have bumped bucks while walking and had at least some buck come into the same spot later that day.
Yall got a picture of GA on the wall what about some "data" from GA? Have nice 10 point on one of two cameras almost every night, 10 pm hour and 5 am hour. Sometimes he's on the same camera both times sometimes he's at one one time and the other the other time. This past November the 13th he showed up on one camera where i sit the most about 45 minutes after daylight (I used to take the first two weeks of November off to hunt but at a fairly new job so building up my vacation time) and of course I was at work. Even before bow season started he was nocturnal all the time. So what's up with that?
First big snow storm of the year here in mid michigan, absolutely gorgeous evening hunt right now, fingers crossed a monster comes by during shooting light haha.
Southern NYS private land vey little hunting pressure our bucks disappear become nocturnal or where ever they go from Nov 19 - Dec 10 all by themselves, Its like there is no deer in the woods. What's up with that.
I’m confused didn’t they only collar does? You guys are talking about gps studies and bucks but he said they didn’t have any bucks collared, so what does that have to do with bumping a buck? I don’t have a degree in college but I do know does and bucks don’t act the same.
This all depends on the level of "bump". If they hear you, wind you, see you, and you are walking through and bump, then this info could apply. If you "bump" a deer in a more invasive way. While hanging a set, hanging a camera, still hunting, or other ways that are depositing more volumes of scent and causing more disturbance. There is a good chance that buck wont come back. If he does hes going to be very cautious and circle downwind to make sure he knows you're not there.
Yeah. I'm worried my target buck is dead. Pretty sure I bumped him a week ago and he was a camera princess until then. In 2 years have never gone more than 3 days without a pic. I have records from the unit that one that big was not signed in.. but it could have been snuck out or wounded 😢
What do your studies say my chances are of shooting two archery state records and the P&Y World Record? I’ve already got a bunch of other records. I’m really good. Trust me. Very skilled. I find big deer tracks and they take me to the big bucks. I just want to know if it’s statistically possible.
If they actually wanted you to fill tags, we wouldn't have endless rules and nonsense. WA they allow you to hunt in units that don't have the game you're hunting. Ones that do, it's special draw for 15 to 20 years before you can have a chance at actually having a chance.
I live in an area in Arkansas with EXTREME dog pressure during modern gun season. I bow hunt exclusively so it's very frustrating if you don't get a nice buck before gun starts. I have however, noticed that the bedding areas I hunt before the dogs get going still contain deer after being flushed by dogs day after day. They're much more edgy and mostly nocturnal but they are still there
@@jasonharris5276 yea. Really frustrating when your lease neighbor has thousands of acres but they release their dogs on our 80 acre property lines each opening weekend. Rough. Haha
Good information, about deer coming back. Not only do they avoid the small area. There attention Is more focused on your, movement, smell, noise
probably some of the most game changing information
Two of my biggest bucks I've got, I bumped them in the same area about a week before.

So I guess the radio collar are lying
Nothing bucks hate worse than human profiles going up and down trees.

I’ve seen houses being built where Buck used to be and they still try and come back there
Those studys dont match to what i have experianced but it sounds good
North Central Pennsylvania, those bucks aren't coming back for a week or more, too much mountain Laurel to hide in.
I like the guy talking about doe movement, and at 1:23 "What about the bucks?" lol
Just listen a few more seconds 🥴

Well I don’t know what could be more invasive than a pack of redbones chasing them for miles and the deer still bed in the same spot.
@tylertrotter2141 deer tolerate dogs more than humans

Everything just wants to get back home.
Georgia quota hunts are like deer hunting with dogs, just stay in your stand and let the people push the deer to you.
Could you guys not use the term “rabbit hole” for a whole podcast
Doubtful
Might as well use night vision scopes at this point

Running deer with dogs….I’m out.
It's fun. You should try it
Wish we could do it up North. Looks like a blast
Hunting with dogs🤐🤐🤐
I don't do it, but I respect the tradition. Man and dog been hunting for a long time together.
