Fantastic stuff! There is a huge difference in hunting to see deer vs hunting a mature buck.

Great information. I hunt in Tennessee and regularly use creek and ridge funnels successfully. Here is to good hunting!

If someone ever tells you still hunting in a stand is lazy or "not hunting". Explain to them the amount of dedication and patience it takes, to sit in the same stand for five days without seeing a single deer, to shoot a single buck.

Sitting all day in one place for 5 days straight is not a viable strategy for most people. Especially if you see no activity for multiple days. That is a low yield autistic tactic

I wouldn't call getting a 170+ deer low yield. I have a buck I have been after for 2 years and this is absolutely going to be my strategy. Day 1 starts in 2 days

I know him personally; he hunts in blocks 20 miles across destroyed by wolves. He has also killed 3 bucks over 170" in 4 years where a 6 point buck is considered a trophy. His method straight up can't be argued, his results are world class and he is doing it with a recurve bow and wooden arrows he makes

A lot of guys will hunt a lot more for a lot less result. Pretty silly comment about it being “low yield.”

First off, thank you for watching my podcast I appreciate it.
The 170” buck I referred to was an 8 point with 50” of mass measurements. I shot it with a bow my father bought when he got home from Vietnam, a 1968 Staghorn Tempest Zebrawood Deluxe Recurve. I would have waited an entire season of seeing zero deer for one opportunity at that buck with that bow. I do not think many hunters understand deer populations in areas occupied by wolves. It is more common to sit an entire day without seeing a single deer than it is to sit and see 3 or more in a day. Instead of calling hunting tactics autistic, take a moment to consider the area the tactics are being used in. This area is very difficult to hunt, with a very low number of deer.

In Wisconsin public is getting ridiculous now they've been cutting everything down and they make it so you can't even walk through it so now you can't even hunt it and then when you do find a place to hunt then somebody else Pops in behind you like like there's enough room there for to you to sit
