The more I listened, the more I realized that I have unconsciously doing DBT to myself for over the past few years. I think this knowledgeable video strengthen the ideas and theories that I had made in myself. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series! :)

I think DBT is so essential. Especially for younger generations who don’t have as much experience in regulating emotions. I think it’d be really helpful in my opinion and save us a lot of trouble. LOVE your videos.Urmează-ți obiectivele și nu renunța niciodată. Pup.

Your intro and I think you are helping people. =) No not everyone has the same means and this doesn't replace the therapy experience but...Sometimes just the awareness or having a label to explain how someone is thinking can be a tremendous help at a time of need/distress. (Not used as an excuse to allow the behavior but to understand it) The information doesn't even always have to be 100% accurate but they hear enough to help them through a difficult time so that they can discover/dig deeper at a later time.
Mindfullness: Judgement...I take a different approach and ACCEPT that I'm instantly judgmental and try to catch that quickly and then change that 'first thought' by being aware that it's not wrong to be instantly judging but not good to stay in a judging state. Human's experiences will always affect them so instead of working on perfection of being non judgmental I work on what I can control and that is changing that first thought once it happens. This allows the survival instinct it's space while trying to have a more enlightening thought follow. I believe we are like an antenna sending and receiving signals transmitted from our thoughts. With that in mind I change the negative first thought vibration because I don't want my energies projection to alter what I'm seeing. Just like I wouldn't want it to happen to me. Feeling those eyes burning into my soul and judging me...Or maybe I just have food on my shirt. LOL

At the end of the day, we all feel those feelings. Angry, sad, depressed, wicked happy. But we don’t act on them. We don’t say hurtful things out of principle. I think there has to be an awakening inside in order to rid ourselves of non judgmental ness. ❤it takes real mind work. I think just being aware of not critiquing ourselves or the guilty party who hurt us. Main thing is, you shouldn’t be getting mad at other people’s actions unless they effect your directly. Narcissist types like to use what I call AUDACITY VIOLATIONS. 😂❤where you made a move in YOUR LIFE but your narcissist sees it as a LOSS FOR THE TEAM. Because they have no sense of where you begin and they end.

This is a great idea to make DBT lessons tysm! Could you also start a CBT lesson series? I was always unsure during therapy which part was cbt as they don’t explain the methods they’re using to you, this is much clearer

Hello Ana! Im a psychology student in Puerto Rico. Im currently working with an organization that helps victims of gender violence (Mostly domestic violence victims). We have a support group where we do different dynamics to help learn how to cope, confidence or healthy communication.
Would you mind if i translate your video to present to them in a focus group? I think especially the mindfulness would help a lot. If you could talk about DBT skills for coping i would also appreciate it so much!!!

For anyone interested, you can find a great list of mindfulness quotes on the website palousemindfulness. Furthermore, there's a free 2 months course that I took when I started my DBT journey and it's really changed my life for the better. I cannot recommend it enough to my friends. Good luck everybody!

Its really interesting how western psychologist have whitewashed mindfulness and given it knew labels. All of these are Buddhist dharma teachings/tools. We should honor Eastern philosophy and give them the respect they deserve!
