30 years old. Lost 8 years of my life surrendering to mental illness then to substance addiction. Have cut back on addictions a lot, but am withdrawing from extreme stimulation, namely dopamine. I have been zoning out a lot even being socially awkward because my brain chemistry is readjusting. I gotta do this, gotta change and become the person to have the life I want. We all here are worth that.
I did this just now for first time. First few minutes were boring, middle few minutes agonizing thoughts of toxic self defeat and bitter sadness, last few were serenity and hope. I'm a man who never cries and I honestly feel like it right now.
Sending love and energy to you all.

Thank you again for checking in. Best wishes to you.

The scripture interpretation is helpful. Thank you, and I'm sorry for your situation, and trust that you are well through it by now! Also, I'm encouraged, oddly enough, that you say, ".... and depressed for the last few weeks". I've been experiencing that type of feeling for the last few years - and look forward to my upcoming season, when I can look back on it and realize that "it too, passed". In an unusual way, it is almost helpful to hear a reference to a short time frame.

Even though we may never meet I just wanted to let everyone know that no matter how many times you fail in life what matters is you keep going if you want to succeed. A wise man once taught me that failing and quitting are two very DIFFERENT things. If we just hang in there in this dog eat dog world and never let the negative opinions that we think or others might think we’ve already won half the battle. I wish everyone out who has struggled with anxiety, irritability, adhd, anger, and any other type of mental obstacles and illnesses that may seem unbearable and impossible to defeat the best of luck and that I love and appreciate any and everyone who struggles everyday just like myself. I know it sounds cliché but please keep hanging in there and don’t give up it’s the grinding out and the grit that leads to the determination of breaking through the many obstacles and challenge’s in life. Even the battles within ourselves.

When I always talk about myself I forget there is 8 billion people I’m in the world that are redirecting & learning just how I am to come to living in the present & loving themselves . Like others I rush myself when I talk & think that the first thing I say is probably the best to get it over with but want I really want is to be understood . Without my own judgement . I intend to keep practicing with speaking from my heart.

I couldn't put her in the facility because of the constant locking in to our seniors. Meditation is the key to the best way of processing grief. I read the books and did the work, but it was not much help. When I meditate, I become calm, patient and energetic. I have also taken up gardening! it scares me - finding this helps me to calm down and try to take everything as it comes. Thanks so much .

i find this the perfect way of combating insomnia; by finding peace and dealing with the stress relating thoughts that sleepless nights bring. Covid 19 has made life so much more restrictive but by taking 10 minutes out of my day, i feel i can put those tense thoughts preventing me from sleeping to one side.

She calls me names and it just shows the kind of person that she is. This session really helped me and now I'll try to not take things personally and let go

“Often other people’s behaviour isn’t about you, it’s about them”. When I heard that it just clicked in my head !! I often take other people’s behaviour personally, because I always feel responsible in some way, and I am now going to set one of my daily intentions where I say “I will not take other people’s behaviour personally”. Day 2 of doing mindfulness exercise after almost months of my therapist telling me to do it and I now wish I listened to her earlier because I have felt like I’m more at peace with myself.

One of the crucial things I learn through mindfulness is that there is no personal self.
The self is only a collection of thoughts, ideas, and personal opinions.
And when you take those away, all you have left is consciousness.
Pure, everlasting consciousness, full of love and joy. It is the nucleus of there here and now.

THE best app in the world as far as I am concerned!
Tamara Levitt in particular is just amazing.
Has got me through 5 shitty years.
    - My mum’s pretty traumatic death,
    - My breast cancer and major surgery (that went wrong!)
    - 94 year old dad then being diagnosed with alzheimer’s
    - Losing 3 jobs because chemo tripped me into ADHD overwhelm! (Was only diagnosed last year at 52 years old! Women mask it REALLY well... til they can’t.)
Tamara has saved my sanity, indeed if not my life.

As bad as today was, the tomorrows are aways better. Even your most intense mood is not stationary and you will be surprised how quickly it will change. That's how powerful they seem. Pay attention to this, make note of it, then remind yourself the next time you're out of sorts.

Yes the theme is v.apt. I am having a hard time with relationships, with a girl I met. Previously she used to take initiative asking me out. I did the same, by asking her out for movie. But lately, when I text her, I don't get a text from her back. I don't know if I should blame her or blame myself. But I remind myself, it is either both party at fault, or none at fault. Change always happen, we need to adapt and give each other space. Find silence and let it go. I am v.glad to found this mediation video

I just had my first heartbreak, I felt hopeless and I just didn't have the motivation to continue life without him. I care about him a lot, I feel like he needs me and in the process of being there for him he was tearing me down, he says he loves me but his actions say something else. I realized the only loyalty I need is from myself and I need to love me and this body because it's home for me until the end.
