- Casio has recently released one of their all time best watches ever: the DW-H5600. It belongs to the G-Shock G-Squad family and it features an excpetional MIP display, a heart rate sensor and a similar functionality as the GBD-H2000. Oh and it's also solar powered. These new G-Shock models also have the most iconic Casio design, the square one. So yeah guys, you need to get yourself a DW-H5600.

The new squares looks wonderfull... hope that in the future Casio will release a version without the fitness crap... just with a Solar+BT will suffice.
@@kasperkosminen2679 True, but it would be better with the MIP display maybe in the future when Casio can improve the refresh rate so the watch can display to 1/100th of a second like the standard G-Shocks and other models with the standard digital displays. I’m sure it will be coming eventually just in time for current G-Shock square owners to get tired of their current watches and be enticed to buy a new improved version. All companies who manufacture electronics have been pulling this stunt for decades.
Its 2024 and people use watches for more than the clock
I got a black H5600 and it is fantastic. I was coming off of a marathon TSAR and love the additional functionality and size. If you are expecting the tech functions of an Apple Watch you may be disappointed. But, for non smart watch people this is a great transitional watch. I use it at the gym and yoga class to track workouts, calories burned throughout the day and sleep patterns.

Just a shame it does not have the buttons similar to the GBD200.

İn addition screen could be a little bit bigger just like gbd 200
They might have solar power, but the battery life is shorter than the GBD-200 even on the highest power saving mode, so it’s not really an improvement in that sense.
The main reason why this watch is better than the GBD is because of the extra health sensors.
All we want from Casio is a regular DW5600 with a MIP display, tough solar, maybe some convenience features like sunrise/sunset, and maybe some better textures button. Why even try to compete with an Apple Watch when a dedicated smart watch will always be better for smart stuff.
Still, not a bad watch.
Thanks for this review and comparison. I have the GBD-200 and I totally agree with you about NOT connecting to the Bluetooth interface. All those notifications aggravate me more than it should.
I must add that it's not as expensive and, mine anyways, is "deadly accurate" i.e. it doesn't need to adjusted before many weeks.

What most people want is the normal g-shock square with a MIP display. Not this monstrosity. Have fun charging this watch, have you seen the applicator? It's bigger than the GBD-H2000, what a miss from Casio.

I wonder if solar turns into a hassle and you have to resort to cable charging anyway? Especially if you are indoors most of the time: working in an office, wearing long sleeve shirts.The display is a big improvement.
Depends on which features you have turned on. If you turn off all smart/tracking features, it should last for months.
I’m into the new gw9500 mudman. It’s more of a gw9400 rangeman replacement…but it gets the nice negative and positive displays along with triple sensor, multi 6, solar.
Do you have it? I don't know what to think about it. Haven't seen it in person yet.

I would prefer an army green strap with the black metal bezel. Guess the black strap will have to do for now. Those who don't want the HR function will simply have to wait until the next round is served. Chill 😎

I have the GBD 200 its fine for a work watch in fact the best but I dont use it for fitness the Garmin is ok for this but Gshock has missed for a sport watch excellent display for a work watch though
I heard that heart monitor sensor on the back digs into your wrist. Has anyone found this to be true???

Can it sync activities with 3rd party sports apps like Strava/Runkeeper/etc?
Unfortunately, it can't. This is probably the biggest drawback.
Can the battery be replaced just like a regular 5600?
I don't know but since it's a solar battery you won't need to have it replaced for a very long time. With the watch you also get a USB charger.
@@TheBoldHairspring yeah but for me part of the charm of a tough watch is also that it lasts for many many years, otherwise it becomes more like an unrepairable gadget.
Does the app sync with other services?
I believe you can sync with strava and apple health as well.
Does that metal bezel easily got scratch ?
It's polished, so I'd say yes.
Does this watch have a vibrate alarm?
Hi. Yes, it does.
I have the GBD 200, but couldn't care less about the fitness thing so most of the time it is in flight mode. Hope there is one with only solar and no smart watch functions like notifications and fitness.

You forgot to mention it is extremely tall and uncomfortable due to that heart rate monitor hump.
Hi there! I've listed all the dimensions, including the height of the watch. During the time I spent with these watches I didn't find them uncomfortable 🤷🏼. And yes, it is a very biased video. All of my videos are biased. I review only the watches that I like. If I'm offered to review something I don't personally like, I reject to do it. This is precisely why I don't do G-shock videos so often. Most of the new releases are not my cup of tea. The same goes for Aliexpress watches and microbrands. My time for videos is limited, so I make sure I film watches that I really like and the dw-5600 is one of them. I guess I could've said that some people may find them uncomfortable but it didn't really cross my mind at the time.
whats the difference between dw-h5600 and the gbd-h2000?
Hi Simon, the gbd-h2000 has 2 additional training modes and GPS connectivity. That's it.

@MrSimon1909 I just checked. So the dw_5600 doesn't have swimming, open water swimming, trail running, and biking. It has only running, walking, gym workout, and interval training. The gbd-h2000 has all of them.

Unfortunately, I don't. I got them on loan, but if I had to buy one I'd probably go for the square. I just don't need the extra training modes and the GPS, and as you said, it's cheaper. I also like the more iconic design. I have like 7-8 g-shocks, but I don't own a square, so that's a big reason why I'm leaning towards it. The h2000 is great, though, especially if you like bigger watches. It has a lot of wrist presence.
Is the strap compatible with classic 5600?
I like this watch and with the "Casio combo bracelet", it would be great!!!
I didn't try to replace it as it didn't look like it would fit. Could be wrong though.

No, it doesn't have any music control features.
the back makes to much pressure on the wrist, there is always a mark on the skin, very uncomfortable
Lift heavy dips, pull ups, deadlifts, squats, handstands and wrist curls issue fixed 😅
For the price you are better off with a garmin.
