I just got a plott hound puppy and I am definitely not looking forward to that time..All I can say is that I will give her the best 12-14 years of life imaginable, I love her so much. I'm very sorry for your loss, it's so sad.. I wish dogs life spans were longer.
@@katherinemcdonnell6333 you definitely seem like a person who will appreciate a plott hound. If yours is anything like my baby girl Ashley you will have a best friend, a dog who will ignore you when it suits them, will possibly destroy something to prove a point....(we lost a tv remote in a very calculated attack....lol) but will be there not just when times are truly tough, but a bad day at work is instantly gone, if your sick and in bed they will lay with you and protect you, they will do goofy stuff that makes you laugh. I hope you have a long life together. Give your baby a treat for me!
I maybe be rescuing one. First meet and greet within 15 she ofered me her belly! Next day she saw me and was so happy. No barking till another dog passed by. Shes great on a leash. Doesent pull, but keeps leask tight. Even with my walker she is perfect on leash. Now to get my ESA certifacat so i can bring her home.
our plott has been a great pup, she's 11 has some health issues but still energetic, great with our grandkids, still after deer ,squirrels bunny's ect. I would recommend this breed to anyone
That's awesome to hear about your Plott! Sounds like she's a wonderful and spirited pup despite her age and health issues. Thanks for recommending the breed to others! 🐶👍 - Nancy
I walk a plott hound for my friend's father and I love that wonderful pup. I'm incredibly frustrated with his owner, though. He uses a shock collar (supposedly only on "vibrate" but I'm skeptical) and refuses to pay for any sort of training. We live in the middle of a city and the guy is disabled and can't walk the poor dog himself so I know the half hour walk I take him on is the only exercise he gets outside of his not remotely secure run. I've done my best to teach him some basic things but his owner isn't cooperating with me- he believes giving the dog treats for following commands is wrong and that the dog should obey because "it's the right thing to do." I have no words.
@@katherinemcdonnell6333 I don't understand your comment. I never said anything about my personal compensation. I am not a licensed trainer, and I am not capable of giving this dog the kind of training he needs, so the training I am referring to his owner paying for is actual professional classes.
I adopted a two year old plott mix… he is such a good dog but he needs to run!!! Lots of energy but what an athlete! He is not Frey vocal…always surprises me when he barks. He is dominant always texting boundaries but is submissive with calm corrections
Yes! Mine has the energy of TEN dogs! I also noticed her submitting more when I calmly admonish her rather than loudly scolding her. She is very stubborn and strong willed.
I had a plott hound. She passed a few months ago. She was an amazing dog. I miss my baby girl.

Our girl isn’t noisy at all. She fit right in with our Rottie and Beagle. We love that pup to pieces!
Any one that needs training ... (nearly all of them) needs a prong collar fitted well by a pro and a Herm Sprenger brand is the best and fairly cheap!
I believe my brindle pup may have plott hound in him

Maybe try offering to walk the dog longer for free. If you cared enough, you wouldn't expect financial payments.
