What a game.. I hope people realize how good Ferrero was at that time. Roger was just on another planet.
Plus Ferrero was not 100% fit that match (adductor)
Ferrero was similar to Alcaraz in that his talent was undeniable. He ran into Federer, the GOAT. Ferrero had Alcaraz speed, Nadal tenacity, and a spectacular serve. Ferrero would've won majors in any other era.
@@bradleydavis9502 But He played great for only short time. After this match he had downfall
Federer had to beat Hewitt, Nalbandian, Ferrero and Safin in a row in order to claim the title. Tough, tough draw.
Yup. It sickens me when people call this a weak era. Usually Nadal fans hating on Federer. I then point out Nadal was there but didn't make a non french final until 2006.
@@RobertHurleyJr This was not a weak era by any means, but let’s not forget Nadal was only 17 here.
I take this competition than Djokovic had in 2021. Federer beat what's infront of him during those times. Even Nadal during those times is a better grass court player than 2012- onwards.
@@RobertHurleyJr Roger made his generation weak. It's the truth that we all knew.
Then again what did Safin, Hewitt and Ferrero do after 2005?
Ferrero was phenomenal here. Now Alcaraz is there to continue and finish his his job in many grand slams.
Yes
Some of the drop shots of JCF is eerily similar to that of Carlos Alcaraz's. And the powerful 2-handed backhand as well. Well played JCF, but then Fed was at his prime.
Well he is coaching Alcaraz now so definitely.
Exactly with that match Federer became world number 1, spot that would lose almost 5 years later. 237 weeks later to be precise. Surreal.
Federer's forehand here was out of this world.
2:25 alcaraz's favorite shot
JC Ferrero was really good. Now in his role as coach he can really share so much.
I see a lot of alcaraz game here from ferreros style
I miss 2004
I sometimes forget the ridiculous amount of tennis this man has played! He was on another level this time. He's still exceptional, but it was automatic for Federer then.
That was the last year that we saw Ferrero with top ten level..he was never the same
He was never a top 10 material apart from his rare french open moments
@@Aghoradipathi between 2000-2003 he won 1 slam, made 2 finals, was a masters tournament finalist, a Davis Cup Winner in 2000 and finalist in 2003, four times master 1.000 champion and during 8 weeks world number 1, not bad for a no top 10 material Guy 🙄🙄🙄
@@spanismedals between 2000-2003... The short time gap where the likes of Sampras n Agassi s were nearing their ends... And the start of Federer s dominance... even Hewitt got his number 1 ranking in this period... That answers a lot of questions
@@Aghoradipathi The guys who were at the top in that period were also in the following years. Federer, Roddick, Hewitt, Ferrero, Nalbandian, Henman, Safin, Moya, etc. The reason was that Ferrero dropped his level around March 2004, not that the others got better. He got sick and dropped in the rankings and never got that level back. He still had MPs against Federer on hard courts in 2005 when he was almost unbeatable.
Since 2004 was injuried over and over again
Ahora se habla con mucha frecuencia de talento... Ferrero fue un jugador de talento real, de verdad. Debería haber ganado al menos dos o tres gran slams. Vaya suerte que tiene Alcaraz de entrenador.
He had injuried over and over since he was very young. He was n°1 and won RG and played finals of USO and other RG
Ferrero & fernando gonzales is my favourite player back then.. they have never give up attitude & fun to watch
Big 3 is a level above, still, hack on the estoy 2000s Hewitt, Federer, Roddick and Ferrero looked like the guys to dominate the following years, in the end Federer proved to be one level above and only the early Rising of Nadal gave him a clear contender.
10:21 is such a brilliant shot
True lengends
coming back to watch this match and it's crazy how alcaraz's game is like a mix of these two.
This Federer is the best version...cool and precise
4:48 Hingis?
Just passing through on my journey to watch every Federer match.
JCF ... So elegant to watch
Amazing match from Roger 👏👏👏
Federers forehand was so much more lethal and consistent in the first 3/4 of his career.
Great match from Federer!
I finally searched ferrero..
Both of these players /best talents of all time
Courts were indeed faster. Flatter play too.
4:55 Hingis applauding from the crowd, so beautiful 😍❤️
So good!!
This guy is now coaching Alcaraz :) He won a FO if I am not mistaken.
Ughh my eyes hurt so much watching this highlights
My king, I love Federal, Bangladesh.
Without a view of the scoreboard the video looses its appeal.
2:27 I saw this shot at US open 2022!!😂
Alcaraz is much better and updated version of ferrero
Ferrero teach him, Alcaraz learned mistakes of his couch.
KING
Inizia così la grande epopea del Numero 1
federer was from another planet. now new young guys on internet call weak era to those past days cos they didnt born for see the beggning of tennis... look federer 2000 to 2005 playing all time with number 1 or ex number 1, all champions of atleast 1 gs, best top ten from that moment, nalbandian safin rodick agassi ferrero davydenko (all champions of 1 master 1000). while now the top ten player reach 1 or 2 finals on the whole year... if there is a new weak era is this right now. no top ten players for the last 6 or 7 years.
Weak era. that's for sure
It’s funny you say that. It’s funny you say that? The guys you mentioned couldn’t do much against a one man era(fed). What makes you think they can handle big 3? Atleast zvererv, thiem are bearing big 3 in masters 1000. In addition thiem alone would beat nalbandian, Rodick, safin, davydenko Agassi in their prime One tournament like RG!
@Oliver McCall bro, i guess for ur comment that u just started tennis with djoko or nadal number 1... tennis before wasnt like age now. in 2000 to 2010 or 2009 u have verry different players winnning lot of tournaments, it was not like djoko era, when u only had muray (low player) and nadal and roger. more thiem and wawrinka sometimes. of course ferrero wasnt same lvl but thats what made this old era special from this actual days. cos lvl were the same for many players, and there were more competition. in 2000s there are lot players winning all tournaments. so thats what made to federer different, making score 2004 or 05 with 90 wins 6 or 7 lose. tennis changed, and for u the new fans of tennis is normal that 1 guy like nadal or djokovic win 10 or 15 titles pear year, but it become normal since federer started the dominance over the others. it wasnt normal when i ve watch tennis in 2000s. so lets see what happen from now on, i think federer have 2 or 3 years more maybe on gaming court... idk how long nadal and djoko will stay there. but im happy seeing any of this 3 winning more tittles.
@@haajiryabre335 Thiem?? GIve me a break. Heynow1988 is right, who is challenging the top three right now? Federer will be 39 in two weeks, Nadal is 34 and Djokovic is 33. Wawrinka, who is 35 now, beat Djokovic in four slams, three of them he went on to win the tournament. Murray, besides Wawrinka, the only player outside of the big three to win a slam since Del Potro at the USO in 2009. It says a lot when the top three players are well over 30 and the guys that are in their early to mid 20's can't win anything big. When the top three were in their prime they were still beaten by their peers, and it's still their peers giving them more trouble, what's left of them. This 'next generation' is crap.
davd1986 first of all do your reasearch before commenting something ignorant. Since 2009 beside Murray and Wawrinka cilic also won a grand slam. Also are you saying that Djokovic and Nadal are old because they are over 33? I don’t think so? Novak is playing a high level and rafa is the same. Next gen are crap? Medvedev was close to beat nadal at us open and so was thiem at AO against novak.
We all really hope that roger consider his position cause still having a backhand that is a forehand,..
JCF ❤
Now carlos alcaraz world champion
Ferrero serve was bang onan
Fed could do ANYTHING he wanted w his fh then 😮
Not bad, Ferrero
Ферреро не хватало физической и психологической подготовки. Видно насколько проще даются удары Феде.
When ferrero was more famous than federer
Ferrero was a crack used to be better than federer
Ferrero kept hitting to Federer's forehand.. Finally realized to go to his backhand and approach the net for winners...a little too late..Federer's backhand is so weak!
