the helpful ppl on the forums and groups is what makes motorcycle or mini groups so great.
Literally just done the same thing on my 2020 Monkey. Went off road (owned it just over a week now (400 miles on clock)) and slipped the clutch to stop it dying on me going up some proper steep hills. Had to take it real easy to get home as it was slipping in every gear with any kind of load on it. This morning just been for a ride and it feels solid again no slipping but I'm expecting what you showed in this video to be the case with my poor clutch. Lesson learnt, will be looking to upgrade the clutch components, thank god for the many grom / monkey videos and discussions out there - plenty of knowledge sharing including this video! Keep it up and much love from Australia!
Literally same thing happened to me today 🤦♂️
it great that you share all this info about the groms on YT, keep it up ! and happy riding.
Great video bud. Ive been excited to see it. Thank you so much for all of your help and the warm welcome into the TGS!
Should of got a Buell...😉
David Gonzales... should have sold me your Buell bud. Lol
Great Vlog love these one, your a top guy that was really nice of you and its great to see people sharing their experiences I wish it was more popular in Melbourne, Aus
Great video.. I enjoyed it much. Thank you Photogromer.
Great job brother! Super cool of you to help him like that. #1 I wonder if I made the helmet sticker yet?
My family in thailand ride honda waves 110cc with centrifugal clutches, they last time i was there the grandfathers bike had like 90k kilomtres on it, and they barely do an oil change and they ride it true the fields in the farms everyday on bumpy roads, they are just smart and dont abuse it. Everything can break if you mis use it.
I've got a Wave 125i, almost same as the Grom engine but also Semi Automatic. 58,000km still going strong.
Only thing ever to break was the cable going to the speedo and the low beam switch burned up.
The coolest intro theme ever.
And this kids, is why you don't thrash your bike during the break in period. With a calm break-in and new oil that stock clutch would've gotten you to the moon.
I think, he might have adjusted the clutch lever such that it would hit the handlebar, and even if the clutch lever is depressed the clutch might slightly be enganged.
This video came in perfect time. Just burnt out a clutch today 😩
Derrick Crocker RIP clutch 🤙
How many miles
Details please
Joshua Collier wasn’t my clutch. Wife tried to a burn out on hers 😂
cod brenn123 a year lAte but 5k 😂 sorry
11,200 miles on stock clutch. Put 3 koso springs, 3 barnett springs, lifter plate in at 50 miles. I go hard. Scraped the fender with under 1 mile on the odometer lol
When I release the clutch it only drops in gear at the very end of clutch lever release. I tried to adjust clutch cable to give it more slack so it grabs more but still same. Would that be a symptom of a burnt up clutch?
My grom is brand new, got only 90 miles.
I need some help. I think I lost my clutch today while down shifting to a stop. It simply lost the gears and doesn't move as if I have the clutch lever pulled. The shifter feels right. It still goes through the gears but I get nothing to the ground. Any comments or hints for good parts would be great.
Thanks for the video.
sir please tell me where can i get new full set of clutch basket like you do
Hey I got a Honda grom 2014 and I installed a new clutch and it worked for 2 months and now it won’t move when I have it in gear and pull the throttle could u guys give me some advice
I killed mine @ about 2000 miles , then put in the koso heavy duty 125 clutch kit with new springs and some blue lock tite on the disks and it grabs like a mofo👌👌 sooooooo much better than the slippy stock clutch with its puny weakass springs. Also put an alloy chimera pressure plate all from steady garage.
HELP! I installed a after market 5 disc clutch, new clutch plate and springs. After putting everything back together I’m UNABLE to get the crank case cover to line up. It’s like it’s binding around the bearing for the oil spinner and the rod under the clutch basket. If anyone has any help for me please let me know!!
Should’ve put a stronger pressure plate with the koso springs
Mines having the same problem and I haven’t done too many stunts. It has almost 400 miles. I think it could be the cable but I’m not sure
#teamsnap Been waiting on this all day! But I have a Blue 2019 and this is kinda scary, lol
As long as you don't ride the clutch or mess up your adjustment it should be fine. This whole upgraded kit cost Charles around $100 so not a huge deal if you do burn it out if you have some tech savvy in you. I have plenty of videos on how to fully replace the clutch too, so not a hard DIY
Good video brotha !!
how much cost your labor ? my clutch is bad, 2015 grom
Probably popping the clutch for all the wheelies. What else are you going to do on a Grom?
how could i get u to look at mine?? i live in louisiana
Not honda`s fault people abuse the groms
Yes...its a 125
..most riders act like it's a cbr1000rr. The defect is in the riders.
In just 338 miles!? I'm not trying to argue but I don't see how its possible! I've heard of clutches lasting 35k and more!
1 bad ombre you can burn up a clutch in 5 miles when you ain't operating it properly. It sounds like he was holding it half in and riding like it was an auto clutch to keep from stalling in sand; that is a big no no. Give it hell and let it spin.
@@thomasdigs This comment is over rated. Yes you can burn up a clutch in 5 minutes... Give a little, if you keep dripping from 4th to 2nd or 1st at 40mph or dumping the clutch into 1st or redlining very hard while hard shifting or skipping gears but this is VERY unusual.
Why does the basket upper need to be replaced?
what levers are those? am new to this thx
Good job big homie
You been popping wheelies haven't you Squidward
3300 miles on my 17 Grom. Clutch still going strong 🤷🏽♂️
6500+ on my 17 no problems
A whole 61 miles on my 2016 clutch like new lol
21k on my stock 18's clutch. Still perfect!
41k on stock 2017 clutch and still going
That’s awesome looks just like mine used to. Lol.
Why dont you bring it back to the dealer??? Warranty!
Man. You offer this work? We tried adjust many times and going to open it up if it rains.
My sticker Will be on the bike or the helmet. No question about that.
Didn’t bother breaking in the motor dam
he sure did break it :)
I like these types of vids..
Hey next time you drain the oil. Put a small piece of tin foil and drape it over the exhaust pipe. It will deflect the oil and keep it off the pipe. No need to wipe it afterwards. Just toss the tinfoil.
Does it not have a drain plug???
@@walker161 no unfortunately, but carrots 🥕 are good for drain plugs
Did he literally just stand there while you worked on his bike?
U can keep the hard parts and just buff those steals really you could have just got new clutches👍
Hey photogromer when can I buy a shirt?
I have a 2018 Honda Grom, do you guys have any issues with your Grom getting it into neutral? At times it even kicks me out of first gear as I try and take off in first. I dont know if it's me or if it is a known problem.
Michelle_Lee GT known problem. Switch to N when you’re still rolling and make sure to slam it into 2nd.
Photogromer thank you! I was trying to figure out if was just me haha! I do have warranty on the bike. Just didn’t want to take it in if it’s me. Thanks for replying 👍😊
I have a 2014 Grom here in Tampa and I'm having an issue with my clutch after installing some mods. Is the Tampa guy that helped you still around?
Watch this video ua-cam.com/video/6s75OcqbyRc/v-deo.html
I might have to be a patron to win a extra Grom haha 😆
hello I wanted to know how much the crankcase cover should be tightened with the torque wrench that I can't find it anywhere thanks
The 8mm bolts are just hand night and maybe a 1/8 of a turn not much. It’s 7 or 9 ft lbs but don’t torque down they will snap.
@@Photogromer thanks for the information.🇮🇹🔝❤
What is price
Two questions:
1. Did you show Charles how to loop it?
2. Is that clutch pack going into the C2C bike?😏
No. We skipped the tutorial on how to Loop it. Lol.
Welcome to wheelies
Was set wrong somewhere somehow somebody messed with it.
i am looking for more pop in my wheelies would you recommend this clutch assembly for a 2017 grom?
Yes this is what I run, the Koso clutch kit but I have the Kitaco clutch springs instead of the Koso ones which I find to be a little more stiffer.
@@Photogromer thanks man ill look into finding a suppler in Australia :)
Here's the Kitaco springs, I bought them from Japan so I assume the shipping would be the same to Aussie that it was to the US (japan.webike.net/products/21777846.html) as far as the KOSO kit you can get that direct from KOSO or any other supplier that ships international like SteadyGarage, Ruckshop, etc, Cheers M8
my grom was running fine and today i put oil in it and now when i try to shift into second and back down its hard and dont wanna shift i bought a used grom with 500 miles changed oil 2 times and it only has 850 miles now its a 2015 please help me im lost and idk what to do
If it was directly after changing your oil, like you rode the bike and it didn't do it, I'd say change the oil unless you used Mobil 1 Motorcycle Oil 10/30 10/40 or Honda Red Cap oil they recommend in the manual. That's all I run in my bikes. However, it could be a clutch cable adjustment issue, if the clutch isn't fully disengaging when you pull in your lever it could make it feel harder to get up and down the gears. Try revving up the motor as you downshift aka Rev Matching. See if that helps.
@@Photogromer i figured out the problem im a retarted fuck i grabbed the wrong oil and put 10w30 motor oil not the motorcle one
That’ll do it 😂
@@Photogromer refilled it with good oil after draining the other one out and it works like new
YA! NW HOUSTON MINI MOTOS REPRESENTTT!!! #NWHMM
what did you use to wrap the forks?
It's called Fork You via blueridgedecals.com/
I see my sticker on the helmet! Fu** yeah!
YEA! .it's ugly as sh*#😁
You didn't follow the "new bike method" right? You need to be easy with the bike for 600 miles and when you reach them, instantly sent your bike to service then start your whielies and tricks
Curious? Was it not under warranty?
warranties do not cover wear items like the clutch plates from improper riding.
i seen my sticker on your helmet :)
#teampatreon
You are supposed to soak the clutch plates in oil overnight...looks like you put it together dry. Thats not good.
Nope they were presoaked overnight thx
250lb dude trying to "pop wheelies" and abuse the clutch on a 125cc 4-stroke - during break-in period.... well, sure. 😮💨
Cool Video 👌
Go figure. Break-in Period
During the first 300 miles (500 km) of running.
I have a 125cc pit bike, cheap one not worth paying to get it fixed I was going to fix it myself to save money. I don't want to pay more than I bought it for to fix it, when I bought it I never got to ride it much because the laws changed making them illegal. It was sitting in the shed with fuel and oil in it because I forgot about it, doesn't start anymore and it's had nothing but problems since I bought it from broken tubes and tires to faulty electric start and now it won't kickstart. I tried some trouble shooting the spark plug works but the bike won't start, in your opinion what do you think is wrong with the bike? is there anything I should check or do to get it started or do you think I should get rid of it? the bike isn't worth selling either I bought for $800 on ebay brand new in the box now i'd be looking at $200 to sell it for parts
Almost always the issues is you need to tear down the carb, clean it, don't damage the jets (or replace the jets) and put it back together. It might take doing this 2 or 3 times, till you learn where all the tiny passages are and dont miss any when you clean it. Then it's just a matter of setting the air/fuel screw and idle. This will have to be done anytime you leave gas in the carb for more than a few weeks. I find it starts to act up after 3-4weeks when using 10-15% ethonal gas here.
@@patrickdk77 thanks i'll research it, the carb was replaced by a mechanic shortly before it stopped working, it did work when I got it back from the mechanic I don't know if it's the carb or another problem the carb was new. I'm wondering if I accidentally left the fuel switch or choke on
1st i hope its got compression when you try to kickstart it ..2 clean your carb and airbox/filter put fresh gas in it make shore u got correct oil...then try to start it in gear while holding the clutch might need to run it with coke awhile to warm it up
Also just soke your carb in gas to clean it... an don't bend the throttle pin
Do i have to have a special tool ?
to get the nut off yes, or you need to cut a big socket to fit the openings in the nut, for the gears you can use a flathead screwdriver or a coin
press f to pay respects
What causes the clutch to wear out so badly like that...?
Bad adjustment so it’s riding the clutch even when the lever is out or the rider riding the clutch for too long at high Rpms like he was doing while riding in sugar sand. Basically just user error.
Clutch abuse, and heavy rider trying to treat a Grom like a CRF250R.
Please tell me that you *DID NOT* put *SYNTHETIC OIL* in a Honda 4 stroke air cooled motor!......SMH.....
Oil Spinner?!
if the strainer on the bottom was full with junk, the spinner might be clogged up. That's one way to nuke the engines in them.
I cleaned it out, can't take the clutch basket off without taking the spinner off first.
I have Honda Monkey 125 2024 model to make it free its very hard
Holy fuckin squid. At least it wasn't a clutch on a Ducati
Lol I burnt mine at 200ish but I also hit a mailbox..... #justgromthings
Thats a nice little clutch drum I'm surprised the clutches weren't really thin
6 speed?
Lol i went back and counted the clutches and i was look for the reverse gear...used too transmissions...did that drum have any snaprings?
You exposed masface haha
Where can I buy a grom for low price
You made that look way to cheap and easy.
#Photogromer your the best
You're*

@Gas.goons. @el.pincho.garage
Why track on a grom lol
Shardu's Blunder because they are fun why not but you already know that quit being a douche
#Photogromer how was you're halloween
#teamsnap
The problem could be from cheap Chinese eBay clutch lever
Been using one for 1,5 years not a single problem
The cheap ones have a tendency to fail when you least expect. Also...if you had no play in the clutch cable.. that would has a adverse affect on clutch life.
Stay away from cheap Chinese stuff.
%100 the guy not shifting properly...
@Walker because you know exactly how I ride and where I was taught. Smfh
