No wonder this is a premium e-bike, it's from the Netherlands! Bike capital of the world! I just looked them up and they deliver to the US. Sweet! Thank you for the review as I would have never known about this brand. And it is belt driven!!!!! Damn!

What are your thoughts on how it handles big and steep hills? I love the idea of not having to perpetually switch gears, but I live in New England where two separate mountain ranges nearly converge. So “hilly” is understated. I’ve gotten my analog road bike up to 40 mph coasting down one of the hills on my commute to work, but the slog home is arduous. This Tenways CGo600 surely has a lot going for it, the rear motor setup being one of them and of course the Gates belt drive. Thanks for sharing! Looks like a nice bike. Range estimates from the manufacturer are always just that, estimates. One rider might do 50km and use 10 percent of the battery power. Another might do the same distance but use 90 percent. Just too many variables. Rider weight, rider clothing, backpacks and panniers or lack thereof, tyre pressure, wind, rain, road surface, hills, assistance level, speed of riding, etc, etc, etc...
Very nicely done in review! I ride a Specialized Turbo Vado SL 4.0 which seems to be a very similar type bike without the Gates carbon belt and rear hub motor. A fantastic bike for those of us looking to get a more fitness oriented bike along with a bit of help when needed. Happy to hear that bus didn't get the best or you!
Don't forget the Bike to Work scheme too if at all possible - This ebike looks really nicely designed especially with the Nexus Hub Gears and belt drive. A specialized or Trek equivalent would be over £2K . I would definitely get the mudguards cos it's mostly wet in UK : )
If I was in the market for an e-bike I’d definitely look at this. And you’re right about the cost. If it’s going to be your every day transport instead of buses or trains then it’ll pay for itself after a while. I think they should offer more personalisation with seats and things if you’re spending that much.
Buy the e-scooter instead (Vespa looking type) not those kid skateboard things. They have lock steering with alarm ,weight 200 lbs and hard to steal so you do not have to lock it to a post ever single stop, plus it can carry a lot of stuff without a wearing backpack all the time. And the wide soft seat does not try to impregnate you. Mind does 50 km range on a charge and it goes as fast as a young person on a 10 speed petaling his guts out. I did have to buy the optional $700 20ah LifepO4 battery. Im buying the 30ah next time then im good for 70km. I love mine.
Thanks so much for the comment, Peter! E-scooters are still feeling like a tentative option but if you're tempted to get an e-bike this really is a fantastic option
@@neilwiddison6529 I suspect that, if e-scooters ever get approved, there will be an insurance requirement. Although there's currently not an insurance requirement for e-bikes.
New subscriber here! One little observation; you need to angle your brake levers down so it's more in line with the natural reach of your fingers. This will give you more power and control of your bike as you won't have to reach up and over the levers and have a bad angle for your wrists.
First , excellent salesmanship and product knowledge. Tenway has definitely peaked my interest ahead from other established brands. I enjoyed your enthusiasm about why bicycling is the way to save on gasoline ⛽ and daily automotive maintenance.
Thanks for your review. It's creative and informative. Looks like a very good option for a commuter. Obviously biased towards riding on smooth surfaces, but in that environment, a 15kg bike with those aesthetics and range would seem to be very attractive. I like the idea of dispensing with the chain, though ultimately, a chain can be recycled more easily. Also loved the fact that you were wearing your hi viz and had the lights on throughout the riding sequences lol.
Looks great. Great review as always. In a hilly terrain like San Francisco, you just need to plan your ride so it’s doable. Put in the work and enjoy the ride!
Nice review. Great pick for tiny person ....I mean normal ppl and flat area. Like that it has belt drive, hydraulic brakes, hidden battery and even single gear for simplicity. Don't like for me personally, too light weight, not enough power and I need more gears for mountainous area. But it does look like a fantastic bike for many many ppl. Just a counter point, some of us have arthritis and other "light" disabilities that E-bikes with full assist can help on days when pedaling is not so easy. I wish for days when I could leap on a bike with no thought to assistance.
I found this channel searching for EMTB information so i can make an informed buy, i loved this model bike but found you cant buy then in Australia :( love the presenter and how she delivers like a polished presenter
What a great video. Firstly, I am pleaed to hear that you are well after the incident wiht the bus as it's great to see you regain your confidence. I loved this video as it was really helpful and very informative. The only information I am unable to gain anywhere is regarding the battery. Can you remove the battery to charge or do you charge directly into the bike? If you can let me know, I would be most grateful!! I live in a 2bf floor apartement as this will help me make this importent decision. Keep up the great work with the amazing video's you produce as it's really appreciated!! Thank you.
This bike you cannot remove the battery to charge it, you have to bring the bike inside near to a power point. They have recently added an extra model that costs a bit more CGO800S that has a step-thru frame and the battery on that can be removed for charging.
I'm waiting for someone to produce a reasonably lightweight, Fazua-powered e-bike with an 11 speed Alfine rear hub and Gates CDX belt drive. I'm sure it can't be that difficult (as all the tech is already there), but I'm still waiting!....
Yeah It's about the price range that interests me with clean understated lines. I've been waiting for the e bike market to settle down from overpriced nonsense. I'm quite happy on my commuting 26ers and the whole picture needs taking into account......bike thieves etc etc
Seems like a great bike but at 5ft their medium frame is still way too big for me. So yet again another bike that I can’t ride. What a shame that bike manufacturers just leave out so many of us
Lol! I'm two metres tall (nearly 6'7) and 120kg which isn't heavy for my height. I have similar problems from the opposite end of the spectrum. Which means I'd probably get only half the mileage the reviewer did even assuming that the large frame was big enough. Good luck with your search! 🤞
This is a great review but, even though I live in NYC, the Tenways bike is a hard sell. Most e-bike shops will not fix a broken e-bike you bought from somewhere else, especially one shipped from Europe. VanMoof has a shop here in NYC and I'd be lucky to have them close by when my bike broke. Elsewhere in the U.S., if your VanMoof is broken you have to ship your bike to VanMoof here in NYC! It's crazy. Just a quick search and you'll find many people who have problems with their VanMoofs. Tenways will have issues and breaks and malfunctions too and you will be screwed. It's just a matter of time.
I currently have a Gtech ebike and I really like the tenways bike. It is very similar to the Gtech and I am going to purchase one. A great video and really informative. Would like to know if you need to charge the battery on the bike or is it removable?
I love your reviews! This bike is something even I could go for as I like the non-electric bike. You should adjust the break levers for one finger breaking ❤️
@john alexander well not scam but people who dont know 250w battery is by far smallest battery i have seen in a ebike and they promise range that 500w battery hardly can do. also she said se did what ever miles and had 25% battery left. batteries dont like to go beyond that anyway they have cut of so you dont damage the battery. so she had no miles left or they are the ones battery give hardly any power. my bike that has 5 bars when full starts to slow down and not giving any more power when im at 2 bars so i dont drain it too low thats 40% of battery in paper. but people that dont know about that buys these bikes beliving what a pretty girl says .
The Tenways battery does not give up until you have drained the battery and the display literally shuts down. But it can still be ridden. If you need more battery, buy the power bank. If you want more battery in the on board battery, then buy the Pro version. It’s kind of a no brained that you are given a set of features and then you complain that the bike can’t handle more features. Buy the bike that works for you rather than criticizing the bike for what it can do. There are literally 10s of thousands of people who only need a decent commute bike who live in relatively flat areas and who don’t need to travel more than the bike can give them on a return trip.
Hey Eilis! I just stumbled across your site this week and I'm hooked! I have a couple of questions. Why don't you use clip in cycling shoes? I'm confident that the major players would love having you promoting their products. Also, have you reviewed a bike from the brand Lectric? I'm very interested in their XPeak fat tire bike and would be curious to hear what you think. Keep up the great work. Love your presentation style and delivery!
Lovely bike and a great price. It wouldn't work for me as I'm 155 cm and the bar would be difficult. I live in France and have an 02Feel French electric bike which is also a great bike, perhaps a review on one of them would be good. . Thanks for the review, really enjoyed it.
I have a question, can the battery be removed to charge as I live in a flat and carrying the bike up the stairs would be a problem. Love your energy and hope your confidence is back after you tussle with the bus. Take care :)
Carry it upstairs. Do you really want to leave a nice new bike outside for vandals, rain, snow, soot, brain dead clods, critters, ultraviolet and micro-meteorites?
I am sure with so many comments this may get lost, but I a. Looking to get an e bike I like the look of this bike a lot I mainly travel on flattish areas of the Romney marsh, though further afield means quite steep hills. We also suffer winds here. So two main questions with no direct assist only torque how will I get on up hills and riding into a strong head wind ? I need to get fit and certainly ride to work 10mile round trip, but although I’m not an e moped kinda guys, I also do not want to make each journey a heavy workout arriving needing a shower. I also have a Claude Butler tourer with a lovely rear rack and pannier sacks could these or similar be fitted to this bike , I carry art supplies around to paint en plein air Sorry for a long set of questions and hope you can help. Thank you in advance Paul
For a cheaper, slightly more powerful option with similar features (belt drive, internal battery, etc) I like my Ride1up Roadster. It's got a 350W motor, which really helps on those really steep hills, a real range of about 25 miles when I keep it in modes 1-3 on my 6'3, 200lb frame, rim brakes (useful when you have to use weird public transit bike racks) and is super light (It's about 4 pounds heavier than my road bike) at only about $1000, it's kind of a hard thing to beat. The company is pretty awesome too. Great sales support, and the whole thing's been taking really abusive (saltwater spray on the back of a ferry, steep hills) treatment with no complaint at all. This does look like a more premium version of that. I do just think 250w without a geared hub is not enough, the battery range is INSANELY optimistic, and a torque sensor only (cadence sensors are the real "premium" feature) I don't think I'd drop another $800 on that.
Everything about the ebike seems perfect. My only question? What happens when, in the future, when the battery needs to be replaced? If it’s sealed in the bike’s tub, how does one get to it?
@@BillOweninOttawa no, you're misinformed. Current batteries last very long time. Other components of the bike will last less in fact. And this bicycle will be more than 90% recycled. Aluminum is literally the most recycled material ever, and lithium and nickel are getting extremely valuable even now, and by then even more so.
The color is very nice. Where does one procure a MIK compliant back rack that fits the bike and accommodates Basil panniers? And a front rack as well? Is that battery readily available or it proprietary? And where when one buy a second, or replacement battery? Is their service network listed somewhere? Hydraulic brakes are nice.
i can't work on my back, biceps, chest, triceps and shoulders though when using a bike so i'm still gonna need a gym membership, lol. But beside that, sure, got your point, and this e-bicycle is easily one of the sweetest I've ever seen!! Sure 36V and 7ah ain't much cuz you really can't fit much in there buuuuuut, 15kg only an amazing look and like 40/50kms range make it really worth the 1500E! Especially since E-bikes are usually freaking overpriced and easily cost 2-3K!!
How tall are you? Im considering the bike, but I am 5.3 and don’t know if it’ll be a bit big for me. Checked the measurements and they seem alright. I don’t particularly like the new model cause it still looks like an electric.
Just had double knee replacement and am considering an e-bike to help my rehabilitation. Have not ridden a bike for about 20yrs so am a tad apprehensive. However, I would only use on quieter roads in outer London.
For someone who is fit (and Eilis sure looks like she is) it makes much more sense to just get a lightweight non-electric bicycle. By saving the weight of the motor and battery and having some actual gears you wouldn't even need the assist. I can confirm that a carbon belt drive requires no maintenance and is an absolute pleasure (silent)
.For what i received i passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the scriptures 1 Corinthians 15 3 .,,.For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 2 Peter 1:16 And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. 1 John 5:20 ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ ....
This bike has a different audience than me, but it’s good seeing innovation at the lower end of the eBike market. Belt drive is an excellent choice for a market segment that probably never turns a wrench and has no thought about bike maintenance schedules. My first question regards regards future parts availability in 10-20 years, or even now globally? eBikes with mainstream components will have much easier maintenance paths versus a new bicycle brand with proprietary parts. Even on my Santa Cruz mountain bike (SRAM GX Eagle drivetrain) I worry about future availability of custom derailleur hangers. I’m stocking up while I still can. The second question is rear hub durability and ease of maintenance? Thx.
Everybody and I mean everybody should get the ergon sc core prime saddle. It's built nith Adidas boost technology and that's exactly what it feels like. Unbelievable comfort.
Should you get the chance, give the Raleigh Felix+ a go. Bosch mid motor, Intuvia display, hydraulic discs, lights, mudguards, rack, bell, side stand, rear wheel lock all as standard. Quality build too. Not cheap at around £2,100 but worth considering if you're in the market for one. Just remember E bikes are not built for speed but powered assistance when needed!
Looks like a good bike, but I wish they do one with a rear suspension one, the roads are terrible where I live and a commuter bike with rear suspension would help prevent a sore back :)
I'd love to know how this compares to the Cowboy C4. Have you had the chance to try that? I've had one on order since July 2021 still not received it and starting to think of alternatives
I have an analog motion AMX which is British designed and has proved to be a great durable smooth bike. It has a separate Panasonic batteries which I like so you can use the bike as non electric. The Tenways looks like it is in a similar vein and can only be a good thing to bring more choice and availabilty at that price level.
one question. What degree of customization can you get in relation to tire sizes? From what it seems, it comes with 1.9 tires. Is there room for 2.2's? o 2.3's? They would make it way more comfortable to ride, since there's no damping whatsoever. Thanks!!!
great video but only ONE comments i want to throw while making the video you forgot to turn on your rear lights indicators, regardless if you are moving slow or in your own speed mode you MUST turn the rear lights on, if possible front light as well should be on while riding. otherwise ride safe and be careful

@@Crashed131963 That's fine but if you also wanted a bit of exercise you'd get an e-bike.
@@garymason7 True
The thing has petals for show but there's no way it can move with petals.
This doesn’t account for bike security and/or insurance, which add a lot to costs.
@@garymason7 Also, laws tbh
Thanks for the review Eilis. If e-scooters never get approved I might have to go for a bike so your review and valued opinion is very helpful.
Thanks so much for the comment, Peter! E-scooters are still feeling like a tentative option but if you're tempted to get an e-bike this really is a fantastic option
E scooters get approved . Surely they need to get insurance to use the road.
@@neilwiddison6529 I suspect that, if e-scooters ever get approved, there will be an insurance requirement. Although there's currently not an insurance requirement for e-bikes.
sorry to hear about your accident :( glad to see you are back on a bike :)
Thank you! It's great to be back 😊
New subscriber here!
One little observation; you need to angle your brake levers down so it's more in line with the natural reach of your fingers. This will give you more power and control of your bike as you won't have to reach up and over the levers and have a bad angle for your wrists.
Welcome! And thank you for the heads up I'll give that a tweak 😊
Thanks so much! I'm grateful for your review!
Nothing fell off 🤣🤣🤣 very nice review. Mesmerizing presenter. All the best to get over the bus collision.
Hehe thank you! My DIY skills are really coming up in the world 😂
Torque sensor with 40 Nm pedal assist (acts as a “throttle”) will do very nicely, indeed.
Apparently people in Yorkshire, all ride E bikes, or at least they're constantly saying "E, bikes are grand".
Glad you’re back on the saddle
First , excellent salesmanship and product knowledge. Tenway has definitely peaked my interest ahead from other established brands. I enjoyed your enthusiasm about why bicycling is the way to save on gasoline ⛽ and daily automotive maintenance.
Great bike perfect for commuting and climbs with great ease.
Also loved the fact that you were wearing your hi viz and had the lights on throughout the riding sequences lol.
didnt watch the video but if you think it goes 70km like the say in the website you will be disapointed. 252w battery give you like 15km of range
Great video. Loved watching it.
Hi, thanks for your review! I bought the bike myself. What saddle did you put on? Thanks in advance!
I found this channel searching for EMTB information so i can make an informed buy, i loved this model bike but found you cant buy then in Australia :( love the presenter and how she delivers like a polished presenter
Thank you! Let us know which bike you go for 😍
What a great video.
Thanks for the great review as always.
Any chance of seeing yiu ride it on hills as I live in a hilly city.
what is the gear ratio? (is it more like high gear or middle grounds) is it possible/comfortable to ride this bike if you run out of battery?
I'm waiting for someone to produce a reasonably lightweight, Fazua-powered e-bike with an 11 speed Alfine rear hub and Gates CDX belt drive.
I'm sure it can't be that difficult (as all the tech is already there), but I'm still waiting!....
@Eric the Axolotl Get a Travoy from Burley for shopping and lots more.
Good choice 👌 I think I would like hub gears ⚙
I will joining my first job soon and this bike could be a great way for me to travel back and forth.
Yeah they should do S/M & M/L sizes to cover most bases
Maybe buy some magic beans 🤔
I allready have a tenways but I really enjoied your presentation.
I’m watching you from Florida and I just wanted to say “ you look so natural in front of the camera “, your next step should be movies...really!
Much much better consumer laws in the uk. Also the government will pay towards a bike so knock a third off the price and Also free healthcare
@@odie7764 are you talking about the cycle to work schemes or is there another government rebate I can get?
@@LKNL13 cycle to work
I currently have a Gtech ebike and I really like the tenways bike. It is very similar to the Gtech and I am going to purchase one. A great video and really informative. Would like to know if you need to charge the battery on the bike or is it removable?
Nice titles in both units systems. 🙂 Thank you.
Not in to cycling, but this caught my interest. The young lady gave an excellent review, great video, I'm impressed. Now I'm thinking of an e-bike.
I'm new here!! Great produced video!! Love your channel!! Keep up the great work! 💪💪
Nice one - just what I asked for a few weeks ago! Thanks
You're welcome!
I love your reviews! This bike is something even I could go for as I like the non-electric bike. You should adjust the break levers for one finger breaking ❤️
Hopefully it has brake levers and not break levers! One finger breaking doesn't make it sound very well made.....hahahahaha!
Nice design love the belt drive but i would value some gears.
Interesting pick, I've never heard about Tenways before. Do you have any bike helmet recommendations? I've been hearing a lot about xnito lately
Nice review. Nice bike! Thanks!
Hi, good review. The big question for me is with a fully enclosed battery in the frame, can it be removed for replacement.
I had this same question!
36v7ah, you would need to carry a spare battery for any decent range.
please dont buy this bike its a scam of a bike
I loved the use of the Brazilian meme, the confused Nazaré.... you can use more, we love it
Lovely bike and a great price.
No it can't
Carry it upstairs. Do you really want to leave a nice new bike outside for vandals, rain, snow, soot, brain dead clods, critters, ultraviolet and micro-meteorites?
@@brianmolstad1255 love that description of London
I am sure with so many comments this may get lost, but I a. Looking to get an e bike I like the look of this bike a lot I mainly travel on flattish areas of the Romney marsh, though further afield means quite steep hills. We also suffer winds here. So two main questions with no direct assist only torque how will I get on up hills and riding into a strong head wind ?
I need to get fit and certainly ride to work 10mile round trip, but although I’m not an e moped kinda guys, I also do not want to make each journey a heavy workout arriving needing a shower.
I also have a Claude Butler tourer with a lovely rear rack and pannier sacks could these or similar be fitted to this bike , I carry art supplies around to paint en plein air
Sorry for a long set of questions and hope you can help. Thank you in advance
Paul
Love the belt, for winter
I really love your channel. I got myself an Evobike travel maby only sells in Sweden but i love it.
I like this bike's specs. I wish this company (and VanMoof) shipped to Canada.
Everything about the ebike seems perfect. My only question? What happens when, in the future, when the battery needs to be replaced? If it’s sealed in the bike’s tub, how does one get to it?
In normal circumstances battery will last 5-10 years, at which point I think you're be better off buying a new bicycle with latest tech
@@bergonius 5-10 years? Try three to five.
@@bergonius So more garbage then? In just five years? That's sick. Don't do that.
And after the world is buried in ewaste? What then? Just buy a new one with better tech. Please tell me that you an old man and not the future.
I wanted something with high torque so decided to go with a 500W TSDZ2 and Voodoo Marasa. Doesn't look as stealthy as this one but works great for me.
Mine has the same geometry but 48v, rim brake, 600+watts, and uses a triangle bag which allows things to be serviceable
Excellent review, Thanks 🙏
Really impressed with your thoughts on belt drive, torque sensing, and how light the whole bike is. Cheers for the review
I really love's this lady's review style, don't hesitate to subscribe and thumbs up. Beautiful bike, lovely lady...
..elegant! I do want to know how would you change the battery?
Does it have different pedal assist modes? If yes, which one did you use in your 22 mile ride? Thanks
For someone who is fit (and Eilis sure looks like she is) it makes much more sense to just get a lightweight non-electric bicycle. By saving the weight of the motor and battery and having some actual gears you wouldn't even need the assist.
I can confirm that a carbon belt drive requires no maintenance and is an absolute pleasure (silent)
.For what i received i passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the scriptures 1 Corinthians 15 3
.,,.For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
2 Peter 1:16
And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
1 John 5:20
‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ ....
You had a tussle with a bus. ? So British to say tussle lol. In Canada we say I was hit by a bus🙂
Spot on with the comparison to e.g. gym membership. Excellent video, thumbs up! :)
Thanks for sharing! I'll take a look the motion AMX.
one question.
Beautiful bike, beautiful review.
Thank you for a great review! But I do have one question. If it has no gears is it still suitable for a really hilly town such as I live in?
