  • Reviving an abandoned Ferguson TO-30 tractor. It had sat in the tree's for almost a decade before I rescued it and brought it home for parts. Now that its running, I have to decide if its a good parts tractor or a good runner worth keeping.

I absolutely Love the lack of crappy music and non -sensical rambling as 90% of other channels have! 💯👍👏

Greetings. I'm from Brazil and I'm restoring a Ferguson To 30 that was abandoned here. Basically I need to assemble the engine, paint it and put new tires on it. However, what really bothered me was that the engine is not the Continental Z129, but the Standard with 85 mm pistons. It took me a long time to identify this difference, because on the pages I found, the tractor always used the Continental engine. From what I could tell, the export tractor did not come with the Continental engine.

@carlosmerlin8727 it could be a to20 or te20. The early to20s all came with standard 120 engines as did the te20. The other option is that the z129 died and someone had a standard laying around.

@@whatsjeffdoing9945 Yes. That could be it. There is a ``T 30'' emblem on the engine cover, but there are hardly any here to compare. I saw some videos from other countries and noticed the STANDART on the TO 30 tractors. I also saw the Continental on the TEA 20. There must be many variations. Thanks for the reply. Greetings from Brazil.

Hi there where did you buy that carb ? I bought one from Ebay but the bolt studs don’t line up. I believe they made two different throttle sizes

I have the same tractor and it cranks but doesn’t start completely. Is there anything you recommend doing?

start with the basics, does it have spark... does it have good spark. most of the tractors I buy were parked because the points were worn and noone knew how to replace them or a bad coil. For under $100 you can totally rebuild the ignition system with a blaster coil and new plugs. The other common issue is a clogged carb or screen. again, really cheap to swap out the sediment bowl for a new one. Rebuilding the carbs on these is super simple even if you have never touched on. Just make sure to get some chemdip.

@@whatsjeffdoing9945 My dad and I are looking at it this week end we are just going to check to make sure every thing is in good condition. Then I have one trick up my sleeve so we will see how it goes.
