I'm glad I was around and experienced what it was like to have the whole family in front of the TV watching shows like this, Flip Wilson, Sony & Cher, along with shows like the Grammy and American Music Awards and Motown 25. No VCRs back then. Cable TV was just starting so we only CBS and NBC at first, then ABC a couple years later.

A lot of stars got recognized after being on the ED Sullivan. Ed did a lot for the music of the 70's. I am so glad I lived in that time. But let's not forget the 60's. I'm 73 now and I really miss those days. It was a great time to live.

He told me if I wanted to be a really good band member stop practicing all those chops I was doing on my practice pad and listen to lots of soul, r and b, Motown, some jazz, blues.
