Constantly buys new gadgets like cinematic cameras for 100k, laptops, tesla etc. tons of materialistic things that decrease in value over time- And investing so bluntly and onesided adds up once more that he is just another noob when it comes to investments
With the way the market is moving, we'll mostly hold for longer than 2030 to realize profit gain, I think a video on "How to profit from the present market" will be more effective, I mean I've heard of people making upto 250K within few months and I'd like to know how.
That right, I started investing sometime in 2018 and by late 2019, I pulled a profit of over $750,000 with no prior investing knowledge or skill, I was basically just following the guidelines set by the financial advisor I use, so you don't necessarily need to be a perfect investor or do the hardworks, just have a professional guide you.

I bought into Bitcoin at $6000, saw it skyrocket and I turned $40k into $100k and panicked when it started to drop in 2017 and sold out. Would have been worth about $400k today but so glad I took it out, learnt a lot about investing after that!

I bought Bitcoins in 2010 when they were worth peanuts- my mates all laughed at me. Cashed out in 2013/14 when it was around £400 per coin and made a cool 5 figure profit which was enough for a house deposit. There is always the benefit of hindsight and questioning if I cashed out too early- but I still think it was the right decision.

Obviously trading in bitcoin is very volatile and risky to trade that's the reason most investors trade with a professional broker.

There is no shame in removing profits when at all time high I learned it the hard way too
rule 1 of investing is "do not lose any money". If you use a stop loss you already broke the rule. 99% of the rise in bitcoin happened in 2020 and 2021. He should have followed his own rule and not have sold at a loss.
Close: he never should have bought that shit in the first place.
He literally explained that he had to because the money was for a short term purchase...which is why he explained not to invest money you'll need. He obviously knew it was a mistake but it was already done.

Great advice in this video Ali, I can totally relate to the “don’t get emotional” advice. About 10 years ago I was up 600k trading contracts for difference, before the market corrected and I ended up not only losing all those gains but it kept going and burned through my original 150k and then continued on forcing margin calls until I bailed out another 100k down. Took quite a while to recover emotionally…

You only lost if you sold in early 2018. If you bought $88k at let's say $19k (guessing ) you would be up over 70% on your initial investment. Which would be over $150K.

Hi Ali. I've been there before. Got caught up in the craziness of the 2017 bull run. There's a saying "volatility is the price you pay for performance" at least in Bitcoin.
I watched my portfolio wither down 95% from it's highs. BUT, I think there were valuable lessons to be learned and if you survived 2017 and learned the lessons of market cycles, fomo, market psychology, you are much better prepared for the current market we're in now. I've turned into a fairly contrarian investor, but I get emotional(excited) during crashes because I see it as black friday, not easy though
I forget if you say in the video but what if you hadn't pulled any out since then?, even after the crash I'm sure today in 2022 you'd be pretty happy. Cheers!
I told myself to only put in $500 to learn the stock market, and ONLY use money I made from investing, to invest more. Now I have doubled my money rather quickly. I know a lot of people throw tons of money at it to make more money faster, but like you, you can lose a TON fast as well. I think its best to learn how everything works and start slow!!!! My philosophy is, make some money on smaller stocks to buy more stocks in one or two companies that will be stable and constantly rise in the long term.

Instead of stop loss, you should have planned an exit strategy. Pulling out 20% every time the price goes up 50% or something similar. Eventually using "house money"
