About civil liberties in Authoritarian Regimes (Which being the history buff I am chose that one) I think I did a pretty good job with it and from what I can see this writing contest does one every year so if I don't win this time, well... maybe next time! All the tips offered above are easy to fix. If the contest has a ton of qualifying entries, then the judges will choose the best ones based on subjective opinion. It's a contest, and the judges make the call after all. Maybe your piece of writing just doesn't go with modern reader's tastes or sensibilities. I mean, if you have a super-sensitive queer reader and the reader doesn't like your portrayal of queer characters, then your writing will probably not fare well with that reader. And if that person is the judge, well, tough luck.

Mam we would love know more about all this kind of stuff like what judges are looking for nd do they support any irrational idea brought before them like in science field if we put before them the concept of not being money oriented but focusing on the really needy people and being solution oriented to their problems...nd giving the various methods , strategies , solutions supporting this point of view ....But this might not be very pleasing to bussiness oriented people ...so would it result in losing marks...so should we write our perspective of doing more of selfless help instead of return oriented nd profit making help ....nd using technology for the same instead of working for the comfort zone for just one particular class of people rather we should use it as a tool for the betterment of humanity as a whole...So the essay would not be very pleasing might be sometimes criticizing the current scenario bt yes it would be solution oriented bringing hopes nd giving examples of the role models who have actually done it nd would overall suggesting to switch to that..... So will that be acceptable ?nd also we would like to know about what the judges are looking for in science related essay(ex. Innovation nd technology-an outlook)
