Season 5 Episode 11 "Confidential"
Voight restricts Halstead to desk duty, and orders him to go see a psychologist. Burgess' confidential informant reveals a possible murder which Burgess discounts but Upton pursues, revealing a corpse which ultimately leads to a prostitution ring. Upton and Burgess butt heads on how to handle confidential informants. Wrapping the stressful case sees Burgess turn to her former lover Ruzek.

Burgess reminds me of Dr. Manning. Both of them are self righteous and can’t take it when they make a bad decision. She treated her CI like a piece of trash then when Upton proved that Sienna was right, Burgess got pissed. Later, after Sienna died, Burgess criticized Upton for not being hard enough on her CI (if he had dug around for the info they needed he would have been killed). Upton said that her CI wasn’t just an asset, he was a human being and a friend.

Kim was wrong here. She’s usually more kind but here she literally got that poor girl killed. I wish she would’ve listened to Hailey, she always seems to put other people first and is always good at navigating the work and the moral decisions.
