As an Italian, I wanted to switch off when Akis mentioned cream. But I chose to listen instead and am very glad I did. People (me included) need to open their minds a bit more when it comes to cooking and I think Akis did a great job to promote a philosophy of accessibility in this video: -The cream is for people who don't want to stress about technique. -The bacon is for people who don't want to stress about chasing down special ingredients. -The garlic is to show people that it's ok to break from tradition to make something that tastes better for YOU. This really is a recipe for a stressed parents, novice cooks or people who have other things to worry about. You're not making a gourmet meal at an italian restaurant, you're making something delicious, quick and easy for yourself at home. Thank you Akis, I hope to see more videos like this!
Omg!! I have just checked his website for detailed ingredients. This is definitely the BEST design for cooking channel ever! I love him! So brilliant! I’m very grateful here!❤❤❤
I will use this recipe, I was taught the Italian way and it is so long and drawn out and I just wonder whether they even bother cooking it that way anymore, your version looks good and I am looking forward to using it, thanks for your innovative ideas, I think you are an amazing Chef yassou Akis 🤣
Good one at akis the Italians won't like that one but they think they're the best when it comes to food we all know the Greeks are the best when it comes to food if you could just give measurements please.
Akis man !! 😅 you never fail to make me laugh dude ! Everything is sexy ! Such positive vibes ! Keep up the good work ! Cooking shouldn't be so serious it should be fun too ! Legend !
This could start a war in the Mediterranean all over again... Oh boy. Not that it doesn't look yummy, it does. But it's really not a carbonara. Its a nice cream and bacon sauce.
I love this channel but guys guanciale is needed if you can find it. Bacon is smoked, guanciale isn’t. It’s a different flavour profile. I’m not Italian, just a lover of Rome
I'm sorry, I ain't Italian, but cream in Carbonara?!?!!! This is Blasphemy and where is the parsley?!😂😂😂 Sorry, but apart from the one pot idea. With just only one other pot in the mix, you can still make it in under 10 minutes. Just sayin'. Plus, I'm sure some people will end up with scrambled egg spaghetti😂😂 😂😂😂😂

10.000 italians died this morning watching this ,i heard haha.

This version is so much better than the "real" carbonara.
Poli nostimou 🤤
"Greeks love garlic" 😂 and Spanish too 😂 specially with olive oil

Italian gatekeepers arriving in 3-2-1...
I mean can we blame them. Boiling pasta in another pot and not adding cream and garlic isn’t hard. It’s not carbonara it’s bacon pasta
French next 😀
This could start a war in the Mediterranean all over again... Oh boy.

Never put cream in it!!!
Τους τελειωσες τους Ιταλους 😂😂😂
I use cream in my carbonara too 😅
All Italian Nonnas will turn in their graves and curse your name for 3 generations. Cream in Carbonara ? :)
😂😂😂😂😂😂

Can't lie dude, doesn't look great
I thought you knew how to cook

Ok Gordon Ramsey…
This is impossible without being able to estimate the EXACT amount of water. You would need to be very sure of yourself here.
Cream? Bleeee!!! 😡😡😡
I love the PFAS particles in this dish. A metal spoon works wonders in a non stick pan!
No cream in the carbonara. Are you mad? Terrible recipe 🤢
