Here's a few more rules in soccer that never get enforced: - Encroaching on a penalty kick, whether it's the goalkeeper coming off the line or another player entering the penalty area (including the D at the top) before the kick is taken. - When a ball goes out for a throw-in, it must be taken within 1 yard of where the ball went out of play, but you always see players cheat up 5, 10, 15 yards. - When a goalkeeper has the ball in his/her hands, they have 6 seconds to put it down or get rid of it. The only time I have seen this enforced was in the semifinal of the 2012 women's Olympic tournament, when Canada got screwed over against the USA.
Mike DiTocco when I was a soccer ref, people (especially coaches) would absolutely lose their minds when I would call the encroachment on penalties and keepers holding the ball too long. It was absolutely ridiculous. It is almost like nobody knows the laws anymore. As for the diving that was pointed out, I would book dives as well and everyone would lose it. It really pisses me off when I see fellow refs let that one go, especially since it is the number one thing that people make fun of.
As a ref if I see the keeper bouncing the ball or taking too long ill start counting to 6 aloud sadly most youth players don't even know about this rule but since I became a state ref grade 5 and 6 adults, NIOSA and amateurs know the rule mostly

IncontrolgamingHD the problem with it is if the players genuinely good at acting then their isn’t really a way for the official to make the proper call
This is a fun rule Manfred and his MLB goons forgot about. Rule 8.04 from Major League Baseball's official rules: When the bases are unoccupied, the pitcher shall deliver the ball to the batter within 12 seconds after he receives the ball. Each time the pitcher delays the game by violating this rule, the umpire shall call "Ball." The 12-second timing starts when the pitcher is in possession of the ball and the batter is in the box, alert to the pitcher. The timing stops when the pitcher releases the ball. The intent of this rule is to avoid unnecessary delays. The umpire shall insist that the catcher return the ball promptly to the pitcher, and that the pitcher take his position on the rubber promptly. Obvious delay by the pitcher should instantly be penalized by the umpire.
The key is the batter has to be alert to the pitcher before the timing starts, to avoid the batter from lagging behind to draw the ball call. Since batters have decided to throw tea parties before getting ready for each pitch, the time between pitches has increased. Very rarely is this rule actually broken because of that clause.
WOW! You mentioned something that every single person in the world knows is a problem already!! AND YOU TOOK THE TIME TO DIRECTLY QUOTE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Baseball might actually be more fun if all of the fences were crazy deep. You would rob a lot of home runs, but you'd have way more people digging for triples, great plays in the outfield, bloopers dropping in, inside the park homers, etc.
I have one. in Canadian Football the receivers can be in motion. including headed towards the scrimmage line before the ball is snapped. So they get a running head start on each play: I think the wide receivers go offsides and cross the line early in CFL games on almost every passing play. Yet it has to be really bad (like 3+ yds offsides bad) before it is called.
Hey man, hate to inform you because there was a rule that stated a player with possession of the puck may enter the crease, the rule states that a goalie touching the puck does not cause a change of possession, therefore Hull had possession which made him allowed to step in the crease, it was a stupid rule with ONLY one loophole and this was the loophole
The one about fraternizing with fans goes back at least as far as the time when Al Capone was in a box seat at Wrigley Field and called Gabby Hartnett over to sign a ball for his nephew. A photo of the two was taken, and Commissioner Landis was not amused.
Once I was playing in a football game and the opposing team’s linebacker yelled HUT because he had no idea what he was doing and they called a penalty on him.

I often hear complaints from fans that "there were a lot of holding penalties that weren't called" in any NFL game. Having worked as an official at the high school level, I can tell you firsthand that we're specifically trained to not call holding unless the hold is so obvious that it can't be ignored or it directly affects the outcome of the play. Why? Because if holding was called every time it happened, offenses would _never_ move forward since there's holding on almost EVERY PLAY. Seriously, rewind the tape of any football game at the high school level or above. I'll bet that, chances are, you can count on one or two hands the number of plays where no holding occurred.
2nd Bonus, wasn't that used against the Steelers many years back when they played the Oilers I believe. I mean this was like 20 years or more ago, but I remember the game and I think the D-line caused the Center to snap teh ball by calling out the cadence and calling for the snap. Pretty much forgot about it until I heard the rule mentioned though.
One more thing about football: Another rule which is basically never enforced is encroachment on penalty kicks It happens on every penalty kick (within play), but is rarely ever actually called
What makes that baseball fraternization rule so crazy is that things like getting an autograph have been around since before Christy Mathewson was a rookie....
James Harden actually rarely ever travels during his step back and that is because the steps count from a player picking up the ball with both hands and not from stoping dribbling
Daniel James got 2 yellow cards for diving in his first 2 games in the Premier League this year. He didn't even dive. They definitely enforce the diving rule in soccer. I even got a yellow card for diving at the U-16 level when I tripped over my own feet.
I think this should have been number one; Carrying, also colloquially referred to as palming, is a violation in the game of basketball. It occurs when the dribbling player continues to dribble after allowing the ball to come to rest in one or both hands. This happens during just about every dribble of any game by any player now a days.
Didier Drogba is actually more known to be a very honest player on the pitch. Unlike a lot of players today, he was actually a dude that kept on running when he was in the box and lightly fouled rather act like someone just broke his foot. I really don't know where what you said is from. I agree about Ronaldo and Neymar tho.
The last bonus rule was called once in one of my highschool games, where it was called 3 times... the other team repeatedly clapped and yelled hut and shit like that while we tried to snap the ball.
Five points vids actually the nba had a huge issue with pacing before the shot clock as players would get a five or four point lead then hold the ball passing it around for half the game this led to some very low scores and poor attendance. So they did have an issue with pacing until the shot clock was created.
It was called in the Olympics between the US and Canada women's team (semi-finals, I think). It lead to the game tying goal by the US, who then won in ET. I think the 6' tall woman barking at the tiny ref had something to do with that call being made.
I don’t know if there’s certain criteria I didn’t read about, but I think I read somewhere that in the NHL if you enter the Referee crease than that’s an automatic misconduct penalty. Well I see players darting through it all the time and they don’t get called. Even when a refs in it. Lol
Don't forget a tie goes to the runner in baseball. The actual rule States that the runner must beat the ball or tag to the base. The tie goes to the fielder.
what about the 8 second rule or position violation in volleyball, they never get called unless blatantly abused: 8 seconds rule, from the whistle of the official the service has to be played within 8 seconds, i stopped times on multiple international games and the average time till service was 13 seconds. position violation, players positions from left to right and front and back can not be changed until the service is played, in international games especially setters but also front court receivers usually violate this rule by a second or more.
I know it gets called more often than these but what about holding in football? I mean they say there is holding on every play but the times it gets called are exponentially less.
That final bonus rule was called in my youth football league. The guy on the defence just started yelling hut hut hut. The ref who did that game was a CFL ref so he actually knew the rules.
the travel thing is such a misconception. Travels are called. 2:24 when harden grabs the ball with both hands he has already kept the step. letting him take 2 more. when curry holds the ball with 2 hands he hasn't kept the step yet, making it 3 steps and a travel.
Yeah yelling at the offense in football has NEVER been called. In college as linebacker I'd mess with cadences and audibles. 1 time I had a ref post play tell me "next time you say hike I'm flagging you" It was the 4th quarter and I was doing it all game. Lol Another time I yelled "it's on 2" as the quarterback started the cadence, the center proceeded to not snap the ball on 1 and his entire team jumped.
You mean you can't use your free arm and do the Heisman Trophy pose while shoving away defenders? lol. Yeah, a few highlight reel dunks are offensive fouls.

How about: Every rule in basketball except personal fouls. The nba is a joke. NFL is following the same path.
I have one. in Canadian Football the receivers can be in motion. including headed towards the scrimmage line before the ball is snapped. So they get a running head start on each play: I think the wide receivers go offsides and cross the line early in CFL games on almost every passing play. Yet it has to be really bad (like 3+ yds offsides bad) before it is called.
Don't forget MLB pitchers today hardly ever have their foot on the rubber as they deliver the pitch anymore.
Also, hitters brushing out the back of the batter's box and planting their foot several inches behind where the line was.
Am I the only one under 65 who hates the eurostep/ jump around wiggles crap?
Here’s one that I bet nobody got: The American Flag shall only be worn on a uniform during an international competition.
Yo love these vids man, keep it up, I started watching you when you were criticizing all the NFL mascots.
Thanks man I appreciate it!
#3 had me swimming in laughter 😂😂
The rule against the defense calling a cadence has been called before. I watched it happen live, and it was called against the Bengals.
I watched a minute long ad before this vid so you get that ad revenue, love your work:)
Graylon Sestak you are the real mvp
I think MLB's fraternization rule comes from the Black Sox era.
Conspiring with the enemy to throw the game
The one about fraternizing with fans goes back at least as far as the time when Al Capone was in a box seat at Wrigley Field and called Gabby Hartnett over to sign a ball for his nephew. A photo of the two was taken, and Commissioner Landis was not amused.
@@orbyfan And Hartnett told Landis, "Fine, but YOU tell him."
Once I was playing in a football game and the opposing team’s linebacker yelled HUT because he had no idea what he was doing and they called a penalty on him.
James Harden flops to much
Chaz Durley way too much and kicks his legs out too, to "draw" contact
Chaz Durley watch the nba a bit more kid
Torito Xtreme what do you mean if he takes a jump shot with nobody around him he lands 1 foot in front of him but if anybody
is near him he lands 5 feet in front of him
You just mad he dropped 30+ on your team.
Pitch clock When the bases are unoccupied, the pitcher shall deliver the ball to the batter
within 12 seconds after he receives the ball. Each time the pitcher delays the game by violating this rule, the umpire shall call "Ball."
The 12-second timing starts when the pitcher is in possession of the ball and the batter is in the box, alert to the pitcher. The timing stops when the pitcher releases the ball.
The intent of this rule is to avoid unnecessary delays. The umpire shall insist that the catcher return the ball promptly to the pitcher, and that the pitcher take his position on the rubber promptly. Obvious delay by the pitcher should instantly be penalized by the umpire
Absolutely agree. I cant stand it when they call it on tickey tack stuff.
WSU got called for disconcerning signals a lot in 2018
2nd Bonus, wasn't that used against the Steelers many years back when they played the Oilers I believe. I mean this was like 20 years or more ago, but I remember the game and I think the D-line caused the Center to snap teh ball by calling out the cadence and calling for the snap. Pretty much forgot about it until I heard the rule mentioned though.
One more thing about football:
Another rule which is basically never enforced is encroachment on penalty kicks
It happens on every penalty kick (within play), but is rarely ever actually called
What makes that baseball fraternization rule so crazy is that things like getting an autograph have been around since before Christy Mathewson was a rookie....
All of these rules should be enforced. Or remove the rule.
T Engen other than the baseball talking one makes the game more fun
@@1ksubswithnovideos420 yeah, that's true. We could get rid if the civil war remnant rule.
I’m still mad about that dive from Holland. ¡No era penal! *triggered* 😂
Throwing dumpster fire shade at dudes feet🤣🤣😂😂
I'm pretty sure you're forgetting about the "gathering steps" before the final two when you talk about traveling
Getting the recommended after the missed helmet to helmet call in the Browns vs Chiefs game.
"I'm not the Mike." That's hilarious.
I think this should have been number one;
Carrying, also colloquially referred to as palming, is a violation in the game of basketball. It occurs when the dribbling player continues to dribble after allowing the ball to come to rest in one or both hands.
This happens during just about every dribble of any game by any player now a days.
There are so many lane violations during free throws, I’m surprised when they actually do call them
The irony of Giannis Antetokounmpo is that he continues to take forever. Even being called for it in the playoffs.
The last bonus rule was called once in one of my highschool games, where it was called 3 times... the other team repeatedly clapped and yelled hut and shit like that while we tried to snap the ball.
free throw lane violations could've been on here too. they happen on almost every free throw and it's never called lol
Thanks, great watch.
Five points vids actually the nba had a huge issue with pacing before the shot clock as players would get a five or four point lead then hold the ball passing it around for half the game this led to some very low scores and poor attendance. So they did have an issue with pacing until the shot clock was created.
The goalkeeper 6 second handball rule never gets called in soccer
It was called in the Olympics between the US and Canada women's team (semi-finals, I think). It lead to the game tying goal by the US, who then won in ET. I think the 6' tall woman barking at the tiny ref had something to do with that call being made.
To be fair to punters, when there’s another body in the area, landing is going to be much harder
I really hate the rule against punters. If you’re punting and someone is underneath you or close it will impact your landing
The rule is for if they are not actually touched.
Semi vintage fivepoints.
If you see this, still love you bruddah
I don’t know if there’s certain criteria I didn’t read about, but I think I read somewhere that in the NHL if you enter the Referee crease than that’s an automatic misconduct penalty. Well I see players darting through it all the time and they don’t get called. Even when a refs in it. Lol
Love the royalty free music jam and the video 5 points!!!!
Honestly, enforcing a flop rule wouldn't be a bad idea.
In hockey, punching each other in the face after the whistle is fine, as long as you are wearing gloves. Classy.
The NHL tuck rule, which is that you cannot tuck your jersey into your pants, is a rule broken all the time, but is never called
Panarin breaks it all the time
Don't forget a tie goes to the runner in baseball. The actual rule States that the runner must beat the ball or tag to the base. The tie goes to the fielder.
what about the 8 second rule or position violation in volleyball, they never get called unless blatantly abused:
8 seconds rule, from the whistle of the official the service has to be played within 8 seconds, i stopped times on multiple international games and the average time till service was 13 seconds.
position violation, players positions from left to right and front and back can not be changed until the service is played, in international games especially setters but also front court receivers usually violate this rule by a second or more.
The only reason to call travelling on a sick dunk unless they ran from half court is because you hate fun.
John Randle would get it called on him from time to time. He would get down by the linemen and just yell HUT HUT HUT HUT.
Lane violations in basketball are my biggest pet peeve of not being called
I think the "roughing the kicker" bonus isn't really faked, just kickers being safe and not landing awkwardly.
If i had a million dollars for everytime a out of the coaches box vialation was called
I would be broke and homeless
Love how you sped up the Harden stepback while slowing down the Curry one so we can't tell if it's actually a travel.
Curry's was a travel, but so is Harden's. Period.
Flopping is called in soccer quite regularly. Not sure what you watch but most refs will let it go until someone repeats multiple times, then call it
the travel thing is such a misconception. Travels are called. 2:24 when harden grabs the ball with both hands he has already kept the step. letting him take 2 more. when curry holds the ball with 2 hands he hasn't kept the step yet, making it 3 steps and a travel.
The last rule...I got yelled at during a scrimage for joking with the quarterback and making him lose the snap count laughing.
Blatant diving has mostly disappeared from much of soccer, partly due to the use of VAR. It still happens, but it still happens in all sports.
Shaq, "there are rules"?
Meyers Leonard! Not miles
Yeah yelling at the offense in football has NEVER been called. In college as linebacker I'd mess with cadences and audibles. 1 time I had a ref post play tell me "next time you say hike I'm flagging you"
It was the 4th quarter and I was doing it all game. Lol
Another time I yelled "it's on 2" as the quarterback started the cadence, the center proceeded to not snap the ball on 1 and his entire team jumped.
The NBA would be more interesting if they called more travels and actually stopped the stepback bs.
The entire Viking defence got fined for yelling "hut" a few years back
The NBA also has a big problem calling offensive fouls on popular offensive players.
You mean you can't use your free arm and do the Heisman Trophy pose while shoving away defenders? lol. Yeah, a few highlight reel dunks are offensive fouls.
I’m still mad about Netherlands taking a dive in the World Cup
when he said "pregunta mexico" I fucking lost it
Most blatant not mentioned... Crooked feed at a scrum
